INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers to those skills that are highly needed in order to become an
effective employee at the workplace (Nisha and Rajasekaran, 2018). This essay is based on
analysing the employability and academic skills that has been acquired during the module.
Reflection plays vital role in terms of knowing self-strengths and weaknesses. Within performing
reflection student can enable to know about the important aspects that are aligned with the
personal and professional development. Therefore, at the end of the module it is highly important
that students must perform the reflective practice. It helps in analysing the existing skills and
new skills that is being adopted during the module. Also, this helps in preparing the future action
plan in context of new skills that are needed to be adopted. It helps in the personal and
professional development of the students.
The present report will perform the reflection in context of the learning that is being
made during the module. Furthermore, workplace skills that has been acquired will be
highlighted. Moreover, future action plan will be prepared in context of developing new skills
that would be beneficial in the personal and professional development.
MAIN BODY
Learning that has been made during module
During this module I have got the numerous opportunities in terms of getting developed
from all aspects. I have got the opportunities in context of developing the academic skills in me.
Those skills in which I was highly ineffective that is being developed in me during this module.
Thus, within focusing over the studies, proper focus is being assured over gaining and improving
the academic skills. Earlier, I used to have ineffective communication skills that leads to impact
my communication with my tutor. Due to this numerous doubts is being uncleared which has
impacted my learning power. Thus, in this manner a single weakness leads to impact the over-all
learning capability. However, in this module I have focused over ineffective communication
skill. Often, my tutor has shown effective support to me whenever I felt hesitate at that time, my
tutor has made discussion with me.
Also, I started to communicate with my class mates which has impacted my
communication strength. Thus, in this manner, in classroom I started to ask my doubts and this
results in clearing all major doubts. After some time, I have noticed change that, the theoretical
concepts becomes clear and it has impacted my learning. Thus, in this manner I got to know that,

asking doubts to tutor can lead to enhance the learning ability. The another academic skill that is
being learned by during this module is related to time management. Earlier, I was not able to
complete my task on time. I did not submitted my assignments on time. Thus, this has resulted in
impacting my time management skills. In order to assure professional development in me it was
highly important that I must acquire time management skill (McGunagle and Zizka, 2020).
However, I was highly ineffective in this. During this module I have adopted the strategy in
which I have parted my major goal into different tasks.
I allotted specific time to each task so, I can be aware that I have to complete single task
in given time period and in this manner the major goal will be achieved and task will be
completed on time. I have applied this strategy at the time of making notes and completing the
assignments. Thus, this strategy has been proven highly effective for me. However, at initial
stage this strategy was working in slow manner. But, after some time I become able to complete
my assignments on time. Thus, in this manner the another academic skill have been learned and
acquired by me which has contributed towards my professional development. In this session I
have often learned that team work and collaboration plays crucial role in enhancing the outcomes
and deliverables of group task. Each member in the group has to coordinate with each other as
coordination by all members is highly important. I have analysed this thing when I have been
allotted group task in which we were four members. All of us have been given the task in which
each member has to perform their responsibility.
At initial level nothing was on track as all members was doing task accordingly their
own without taking the permission of the another group members which has resulted in
impacting the coordination level and which has further result in impacting the deliverables. In
that task we have not given the effective outcomes (Di Gregorio and et.al., 2019). Later, in
second task I got to know the major reason behind the failure of the task which was ineffective
leadership. In second task the leader has allocated the task to each member on the basis of their
interest and complexities of the students is often solve by the leader which has created effective
interaction among the group members and leaders. Thus, here I analysed that in order to ensure
the effective team outcomes it is highly important that effective leadership is being performed as
it helps in creating effective interaction among the team members and the leader. Thus, I have
made major learning in this module that has directly contributed in enhancing my personal and
professional development.

Specific workplace skills that has been acquired
Employability skills refers to the transferable skills which are needed by an individual to
become an employee. Acquiring these skills at the time of academic development has been
proven highly beneficial as this leads to impact the capability of the students in context of
becoming an effective employee. During this module I have acquired certain workplace skills
that are often known as employability skills (Ornellas, Falkner and Stålbrandt, 2018). These
skills have added in my personal as well as professional development. The major employability
skills that has been acquired by me during this module are-
Critical thinking skill, this is the first skill that is being acquired by me during this
session. Critical thinking skills refers to those skills that enable an individual in terms of
critically analysing the concepts. Positive and negative elements has been critically examined
which results in taking appropriate decision. Thus, this skill has enabled me to critically analysed
my topics and on the basis of that, I have made assignments. Also, this skill will be proven
beneficial in future as well. As at my workplace I can use this skill in terms of analysing the
important attributes and on the basis of that decision can be taken.
Oral and written communication skills is the second employability skill that has been
developed in me during this module. This has been considered as the employability skill as at the
workplace an employee must have the effective oral and written communication skill as it is
highly mandatory in terms of creating effective interaction at the workplace with other people. I
have acquired this skill within preparing notes and taking part in the group discussions. Thus,
this skill has enabled me in terms of having effective communication ability. This will help me at
my workplace as well. I can easily communicate with my mates and also understands their issues
and problems.
Professionalism has been acquired by me in this session within learning the ways in
which I can behave in appropriate way (Bates and et.al., 2019). Being professional includes
having time management, team collaboration and effective communication skills. Thus, within
acquiring all these skills I have gained the professionalism that has shaped my professionalism
character. This will lead to guide me at the time of my job. Professionalism character will help
me to behave in effective way that will lead to impact my working pattern at the workplace.
Digital skills has been developed in me. While completing my assignments in MS word
and Excel I have learned to use the technological platform that impacted my digital skills on a

positive note. Analytical and digital skills has been considered as the important employability
skills that enhance the technological skills of an individual. At my workplace this skill are highly
mandatory as this will enable me to have the effective working ability within using technological
platform. As a result, goal will be achieved in effective manner.
Problem solving skills refers to that skill that helps in knowing the major cause of the
issue and along with this it helps in determining the ways in which the issue can be resolved.
Thus, this skill has been acquired by me in this module that has helped me in terms of knowing
the causes of the problems that was related to my ineffective communication and time
management skills. When the problems have been known by me then, the issues has been
resolved in easy manner. Thus, in this manner problem solving skills helps in identifying and
solving the issues. At my workplace as well this skill will help me to know about the cause of
problem and along with this the issue can be resolved my me.
Self management skills has been considered as that skill which lead to boost the
confidence level and helps in performing the task at the workplace in productive way (Rose and
et.al., 2020). This module has provided me the opportunity in context of developing this skill in
me. I have managed my weaknesses and often changed into the strengths. Thus, this skill has
enabled me to perform my task in productive way that has provided effective result at the end.
Thus, all of the above explained employability skills have been acquired by me during
this module which has assured effective personal and professional development in me. Also,
these skills will be beneficial for me at my workplace as well.
Other skills needs to be developed after this module against the future job role
There are certain skills that I need to acquire in me which could be highly beneficial for
my job role in future. In order to have assurance that at workplace I will perform my task in
effective manner it is important that I must have some skills that are highly important for my job
role. As I want to be a part of business and management field in future. Therefore, it is highly
important for me to develop some important skills that are ineffective in me and those are-
leadership skill, decision-making skill, motivation skills and controlling skills.
Leadership skills refers to those skills that are entitled with leading the people at the
workplace and solving their issues (Redmond and et.al., 2018). During this module I have
analysed that it is highly important to have the leadership skill as this will enable me to have
effective team management skill as well. Therefore, this skill needs to be developed me in for my

future job role. So, I can effectively guide other employees in terms of clearing their doubts and
understanding their issues.
Decision-making is another skill that is needed to being acquired in me for my future job
role. Decision making skill helps in taking the most appropriate decision from the available
decisions (Peters and Romero, 2019). Therefore, it is highly important that individual must
possess this quality as this will lead to enable individual in context of taking best decision from
available decision. This skill will help me to take the appropriate decision at my job place.
Motivation skill refers to influencing others in positive way at the workplace. Thus, this
skill helps needs to be developed in me as this will enable me to motivate other employees at the
workplace. Also, with the help of this skill I will able to understand the issues of the employees
at workplace that will lead to impact interaction with the colleagues at the workplace. Thus, in
this manner this skill will enable me to have effective motivation ability at workplace that helps
in motivating employees.
Controlling skills are considered with controlling the course of actions at the time of
work burden. This has been considered as one of the most important management skill that is
highly needed in the field of business and management (Aljawarneh, 2020). Thus, I need to
develop this skill in me as this will enable me to control the over-burden at the workplace which
will be beneficial in controlling the issues at the workplace.

been acquired by me during this module. There are certain weaknesses in me which is related to
decision making skills and digital skills have been improved in me. Also, I have made plans in
relation of those skills that are important to acquire for future purpose. Thus, action plan has
been prepared in this context. Thus, opportunities during this module has contributed in my
personal and professional development.
