INTRODUCTION
Work based learning is determined as technique or strategy according to which students
are provided specific work experiences in the real life so that they can experienced each and
every circumstances properly (Gupta and Deep, 2019). In this an individual apply their
knowledge, technical and academic skills for enhancing their employability. Moreover, through
work based learning a student able to enhance their skills which are necessary for the
employability and for developing positive as well as strong work history. The respective report
includes information related to self evaluation and evaluation of potential placement
opportunities. Moreover it will also include career path for placement that will be based on above
evaluation that are provide in report.
Task 1: Self-evaluation
Abilities and achievements
For getting best college placement, a student needs to have certain abilities, skills as well
as a strong experience of achievements. In order to this it is essential for students to have proper
knowledge and skills according to their specialization because through that they can attain best
opportunity related to employability and placement. In this soft skills are determined as
necessary components through which a student can avail best placement opportunity at college
(Hoogerheide and et. al., 2019). In respect of me I have several abilities such as work in team
which I develop while working in group or team at the university. Through this skills I also learn
how to express ideas or thoughts in team or in front of others as well as I also get to know that
asking question in group is not wrong whereas through it I can increase my knowledge. While
working in team I also able to enhance my communication skills which are important in every
job or activities as well as I also get to know how to communicate effectively through e mails
and articles notes and in group discussion.
Furthermore, I also achieved second price in my college at the time of inter college
debate competition as well as me and my team is also appraised as the best team in class. I
always active and take part in different activities which are held at the university because
through that I able to explore thinks and enhance my knowledge as well as skills. Moreover, I

also coordinate finance club at the University in which I am responsible for monitoring all
financial activities at club.
Previous experience
My previous working experience is in E & C Expert Cont Ltd where I am responsible for
meeting clients and resolving their tax related quarries on daily basis. I also address their issues
and concern as well as I also takes feedback from the clients as that will help management in
decision making process. In addition to this I also assist clients in getting most appropriate
services according to their requirement and need. For all these activities I conduct
communication with the all individuals who visited at our store on daily basis. I also interact
with them and try to convince them to buy our different services (Jabarullah and Hussain, 2019).
I generally work on the basic demos which need to provide customers related to service
information as well as its related features.
Apart from this work experience I also had a working experience as a volunteer at the
NGO who conduct work to empower women by aware them about their rights. In this I got the
opportunity to teach as well as inspire all age group women about the rights, basis computer,
English, self defense and so on. I mainly joined NGO for enhancing my confidence,
communication and convincing skills. While working with NGO I conduct numbers of
discussion with women in order to uplift their confidence so that they become empower and
stand for themselves in every situation. This both working situation help me in enriching and
nourishing my skills as well as abilities so that I will perform effectively in my job which I get
during placement.
Discipline and work-related preferences
My interest to do work is in consultancy firm as a college student as well as I also wants
to work with that firm who value their employees and believe in their growth. This is so because
at that type of company a person gain numbers of growth as well as learning opportunity through
which they further get numerous of operation (Linden, 2019). I also want to get connected with
workplace which have positive working environment because at that place employees feel
motivated as well as confident which leads to attainment of desire goal and objective of company
in successful manner. So I more preferred to work in consultancy firm because at that place I can

enhance several skills which help me in conducting my work in effective manner as well as it
also help me in my future growth.
Furthermore, I want to work as an operational employee at the multinational company
who handle works inside the office. Moreover, it will be fine for me to travel sometime outside
the station but I don’t prefer job in which I need to go on field every day. I also want that my
senior or superior will provide me feedback at very time because through that I can enhance my
skills, abilities and strengths.
Special support requirements needed
For getting best placement at the University I need to enhance some of my skills that will
include presentation skills as well as problem solving abilities. It is essential to enhance these
skills because it will help me in standing out as compare to other students who also came for
placement (Malmia and et. al., 2019). In order to enhance my presentation skills I need to take
online or offline presentation class because at that place I will be guide by professional. I can
also do practices by my own because for delivering presentation in effective manner I need to
build high confidence as well as I also needs to overcome my stage fear. This is so because it
impact on my presentation as I get nervous when I go to stage or in front of huge people.
Furthermore, in order to develop or enhance my problem solving skills, I need to
understand problem and its root cause because that will help me in identifying best solutions of
problems. For improving this skill I can attain training session under the professional who help
me in determining ways for resolving issues or problems in effective and appropriate manner. By
enhancing this skill I will able to resolve my as well as others problems in effective way as well
as it will also help me in grabbing placement opportunities at University. Moreover, I also need
to focus on my other skills such as leadership, technical as well as analytical skills for gaining
placement opportunities successfully.
Personality
According to me I am an outgoing as well as independent person, which have a lot of
connection or friends because I like to interact with new people around the society. I am also
friendly person who usually like to speak people and understand them. I am also considering
myself an enthusiastic individual who generally want to work in motivated as well as

competitive environment. Outgoing people are considered as person who likes to seek attention
as well as interact others (Moust, Bouhuijs and Schmidt, 2019). This is not happen same in my
case because I am little bit extrovert because I not able to deal with huge audiences at the time
presentation. Moreover, I also give more priority to my working as well as academic career. But
according to me I have good communication as well as convincing skills which help me in
attaining my desire goal as well as objectives in successful manner.
Further, I also considered myself as an independent, hardworking and effective person
who like to do work without rely on anyone for any task. I also always take care of my needs and
do my work in effective manner as well as in allotted time. I am also an open kind of person who
likes to take advice, suggestion and feedback from other so that I can enhance my lack skills,
abilities and knowledge in successful as well as effective manner. Along with this I also know
how to utilize resource in properly so that there will be minimum wastage and errors.
Task 2: Evaluation of Potential Placement opportunities
Placement provider
The company which is providing placement opportunity at the University is The
Brentano Suite which provides wide range of different sized space as well as location in order to
cater according to requirement of client and in flexible budget and layout (Pei and et. al., 2019).
The mission of respective company is to provide calm and quite environment in modern way to
their clients or customers.
The job role for which The Brentano Suite is conducting placement is customer service in
which an individual need to interact with customers and understanding their need, demand and
requirement so that further company will desire rooms accordingly. In this job role a person also
need to take feedbacks from customers as well as resolve their quarries.
For getting placement in The Brentano Suite, a student needs to have several skills
because they need to perform different responsibilities and role accordingly. That will include
interaction with customers, understanding their requirement, draw demo design, and solve
customers’ quarries and many more.

The Brentano Suite provide various programmes for the newly joined employees so they
will also organize programs for placed students that will include training session so that they
know perform their task (Pellas and et. al., 2019). Respective company also have positive
working environment which motivate employees and encourage them to work.
Organizational structure of the workplace
Organization structure is considered as system which explains about how different
practices at workplace are directed for the attainment of goal as well as objectives successfully. It
is also considered as ways through which information flow at a company. There are several types
of organization structure which are generally selected by company according to their business
operation, function and size (Ramadhani and et. al., 2019). Below some of the organization
structure are given which can be adopt by The Brentano Suite:-
 Functional structure – Respective types of organization culture is used to organize staff
at the workplace. In this groups are developed which are based on the knowledge as well
as skills or functions of employees. So by adopting this organization structure The
Brentano Suite, able to conduct proper allocation of role and responsibilities to every
employee which leads to accomplishment of work properly.
 Divisional structure – Respective structure of organization divide every function of
company in to division. In this each and every function and resource support to the
company products line. If The Brentano Suite adopts divisional structure they able to
make their workplace operations more flexible as well as it also make decision making
properly easily and effective.
 Hierarchical structure - According to this structure whole working operations are
divided into different level i.e. upper, middle and lower. In respect of The Brentano Suite
they are conducting their business operations according to the hierarchical structure and
according to this all the operations are conducted properly and smoothly.
 Mixed structure - In this type of organization structure reporting relationship of staffs
are based on the grid or matrix instead of hierarchy (Sarfati and et. al., 2019). If The
Brentano Suite adopts this structure then staffs need to report two superior members or
manager. Moreover, by implementing this respective company get ensure that their
resources are used effectively in business operations.

Theories of management
There are numbers of management theories which an organization can adopt in order to
conduct their operations and functions in effective manner as well as that will also help them in
attaining desire goal properly. Below some of the main management theories are given which
impact on The Brentano Suite business operations and functions:-
Classical Theory – According to respective management theory an organization are
more concern about their business operations and functions rather than employees who are
working for them (Sousa and Rocha, 2019). According to this theory staffs are considered as
component of an organization because management is concern about the output. So in respect of
respective company if they adopt this theory it will affect employees productive and growth
because they feel pressure among themselves for accomplishing work. Moreover they also not
get any benefits so that they can feel motivated.
Behavioral Theory – Through respective management theory an organization able to
understand human behavior at the workplace which help them in developing strategies as well as
plans according to their requirement and expectation. This will also help in handling situation
related to conflict, workplace performance, motivation, productivity and so on. Moreover, in
respect of The Brentano Suite management able to determine leadership style which help them in
attaining their goal as well as objective. It also helps in motivating employees so that they can
work properly for attaining objective.
Contingency Theory – The respective theory of management based on the assumption
which impact on the decision making of organization as well as effectiveness of their decision.
By adopting this theory of management The Brentano Suite manager able to develop wide range
of operation decision which help in dealing particular situation properly by making decision
(Swanson and et. al., 2019). But this is issues related to respective theory which impact on the
performance of respective company.
According to this most appropriate management theory for The Brentano Suite is
behavior theory as that will help in developing best decision according to employees.

Task 3
By conducting self evaluation as well as work place evaluation, I identify that there are
several skills which help me in getting placed in The Brentano Suite. I analyze that after getting
placed in respective company I able to attain several opportunities which leads to my career or
future growth. This is so because The Brentano Suite provide numbers of growth and
development opportunities to their employees such as they conduct training and development
session, do group discussion, involve employees in decision making and many more (Tokac,
Novak and Thompson, 2019). Through this types of practices not only company able to attain
their desire goal and objectives, employees also able to enhance their skills, abilities and
knowledge. Respective company also develops as well as maintains positive working culture by
which employees feel motivated as well as get encouraged to conduct work properly that also
lead to increase in their performance quality.
CONCLUSION
By analyzing above discussed point it can be summarized that in the growth of student
work based learning plays a major role and it is generally conducted at the time of school and
university. This is so because through this a student able to enhance as well as develop skills and
ability which help them in gabbing best placement opportunity. Furthermore, it will also help in
developing employability skill that include communication, team working, leadership, problem
solving and many more. In addition to this in order to get best placement a student need to have
various skills and abilities which can be developed through past experience which they get at
internship. Personality of a student also impacted on the student’s job role which they get at
workplace.
