A work placement is mainly a period of supervised work, where an individual has the
opportunity to gain experience working in a particular role in an organisation. In addition to this,
it is suitable form of an employment for the student having particular time-period associated with
the sufficient wages of the work performed by them. It is important for a person to gain
experience in working as it help in grabbing better opportunity in future that directly leads to
growth and development. The report covers PESTELE analysis and SWOT analysis that is used
by an organisation in order to evaluate the business environment. In addition to this, there is a
discussion about management practices that has a positive influence on performance of an
employee. Moreover, an audit of personal development and professional development that an
individual expect in order to achieve from the work environment in which they placed

1.1 Appropriate tools to evaluate the business environment of an organisation
PESTLE analysis: It refers to a tool used by management team of any organization in order
to know the current market situation before executing their business functions. This will help
them in getting accurate information related to the market situation so that they can perform their
functions in an effective manner:
Political factor: It is the most essential element of pestle analysis which includes all the
political regulations of the country introduce by the government. In reference to a legal firm, it is
said that if there is any sort of changes or modifications arise in the political regulations, it is
required by the management team of the firm that they must provide training session to their
current staff members. This will help them in enhancing their knowledge and understanding
about the issues and problems arise at the marketplace related to the political factor.
Economical factor: It includes the economic system of a country which consist of inflation
rate, labour cost, taxes and many more. Changes in any sort of laws highly affects the
functioning of a legal firm as they need to modify their functioning as per the changing

creates positive impact on the functioning of legal organization.

technologies and equipment’s so that they can beat the level of competition and get favorable
results in effective manner. Highly advanced technology help them in providing high quality

Legal factor: This factor includes laws and legislation which needs to be considered by a
legal firm while doing business operations. Changes in any kind of laws requires training
sessions which help them to modify their learnings and knowledge.
Environmental factor: It is quite essential for every organization to contribute their share
for the growth and development of the environment by reducing consumption of chemicals and

qualities and skills in order to increase potential and attain desired goals effectively. Personal
development is important in order to gain confidence and fulfil self-actualisation needs in an
effective manner. Every individual want to gain personal growth and development from the work
environment in which they are working. By performing activities or task in my future place
company, I want to improve my communication skills so that I can interact with any people
without hesitation. This skill will help me to become a good lawyer as for working in this area, a
good communication is require in order to argue with the other people and win a case from the
opposition party. The law firms recruit those employees who have the potential to learn
something from performing their work in an effective manner. Another skill that I want to learn
or that help me to achieve personal growth is problem- solving skills. It is essential for me to
deal with the problems that is occurred in future in an effective so that it cannot impact on my
overall performance of working in the organisation. This personal development will motivate me
to put efforts in performing work that leads to increase in efficiency and productivity as well. In
addition to this, I want to build an effective relationship with people that help me to increase the

number of contacts that is required to become a good lawyer. Moreover, I have the ability to
perform task on time but sometimes there is delay in working that impact me negatively.
Therefore, while working in an organisation I want to learn about time management skill that
will help me to meet my targets and build a positive impression in front of the higher authorities
of company in which I am going to work. This skill will help me to manage the task whether it is
professional or personal on time period. This directly aid me to attain higher growth as well as
development from the work environment in an effective manner. Furthermore, I want to learn
about the conflict management skills that help me to resolve my personal as well as professional
issues in an effective manner. This also help me to maintain good relations with other people and
develop my overall personality in an effective manner.
2.2 Professional development that a person want to achieve in order perform their role on work

Professional skills are the particular ones associated with the professional candidate of an
individual. It is important for a people to develop professional skills from the working
environment sin order to gain growth as well as success. From the work environment in which I
am going to work, I want to gain knowledge about the laws that is developed by the parliament
or government. This will help me to grab a better opportunity and to take the cases in my future
as a lawyer. In addition to this, it also assist me to make conversation effective with other people
and develop an understanding about the particular topic in an effective manner. I want to develop
leadership skill in me that involve behaviour, attitude and manners as well. I will use this skill in
order to develop good relationship with people. Moreover, it aid me to motivate people in order
to attain their desired goals in an effective manner. It is determine by me that developing
leadership skill increase confidence in me to perform activities that is one of the essential
characteristic required in order to become a good lawyer in future. Furthermore, at present I am
not able to take decision separately or rapidly as I want someone opinion that sometimes wrong
for ma and decline my motivation and confidence level. Therefore, from the work environment, I
want to learn about decision making skills that help me to make right decision and on the right
time as well. If I want to lead an organisation, it is important for me to take better decision on
time so that performance of company is maintain. Therefore, decision-making skill will help me
to take effective decision that leads to the growth and development of me as well as organisation
