INTRODUCTION
Stress is the response of body which changes life. Everyday routines change due to stress.
Stress management is regarded as using the wide range of techniques which will helps in
managing life of a person. The purpose of managing stress mainly includes for improving the
functioning of day to day purpose. As the stress being produced in individuals at workplace will
creates state of depression, stress and regarded as a hurdle for leading the happy life. As a part of
the wok based learning, placed in the ABC company as an advisor. This report will give detail
about stress management. Causes of stress management. Symptoms of stress management.
Lastly, stress at the workplace and managing it to improve employee commitment, performance
and organizational productivity.

1. Explaining the causes of Stress to the management team
The transactional theory of stress: Is regarded as the theory which will express the
causes of stress to the management teams. It expresses as the psychological stress as relationship
between the surroundings and different individuals by endangering and causing issues to the
individual well-being. It is mainly comprising the cognitive approach where the individual well-
being is being categorized. Before copying with the stress the individual must evaluate the
potential of stress. This approach mainly goes with two mechanisms primary and secondary. In
primary appraisal he individual will recognize the sources as of actual benefit or loss, in present
or in the future. In trouble if yes then it is regarded as threat and loss (Andersen and et.al., 2021).
Which results in potential danger for the self-esteem, and the challenges will result negatively.
Furthermore, the secondary appraisal will be copying the resources or the situation. This
will indicate the ability to cope up with the situation, circumstances or the resources.

The copying refers to the cognitive behaviour which helps in reducing the stress being generated
for the stressful transactions. This will help in determining the emotions and the regulations
which is regarded as the stressful situation and it will also help management of the organization
for analysing the causes of the stressful situation. By using this model has helped in analysing
the variety of individual responses which is shown for the stress (Dishop and Good, 2022). This
model acknowledges the stress which manifests the physiological, psychological, behavioural
and social consequences.
There are various situations which are causing the stress which is regarded as
unavoidableness uncontrollable for the management teams. Stress can be caused by the limited
events like pressures for the deadlines and the ongoing situations, job security and other problem
causing situation which may occur in the workplace (Hao, Farooq and Zhang, 2018). There are
mainly following reasons which causes the stress to the management team which includes:
Excessive workload: Excessive workload is being regarded as the main cause of the
workplace stress for the employees in the organization. The deadline, work pressures and
workloads will be regarded as the cause of stress.
Relationships at work: The relationships with the supervisors, co-workers conflict with
them will rise in the lack of trust, discrimination. Also, the unsupportive environment and
relationship from various colleague and head official will be regarded as a source for the rise in
pressure of work.
Poor working conditions: Poor working conditions provided to the employees will
cause stress for the employees (Jaiswal, Arya and Singh, 2021). As the working in unhealthy
environment, unhygienic and polluted environment will rise stress as it influences the unhealthy
behaviours of the individuals in the management.
` Work life balance: Work life of the employees must be balancing for working better in
the workplace (Lin, Q and et.al., 2021). The poor work life balance will create stress and
tensions to the workforce. As these generally include working for longer hours, working at the
long distance from job will Create stress for the employees.
Job security and career development: The job security and career development will
cause the stress to the management as lack of career development opportunities in the workplace
will cause stress (Landers and Marin, 2021). Also, the job security, over and under promotion
will be regarded as an issue which arises stress.

Dynamic changes: Due to the current time the dynamic changes in the workplace
environment will cause stress to the management. As due to covid the changes of various
processes and the well-being of employees must be given priority (Last and et.al., 2021). These
change will impact the morale of employees and work related stress will rise due to the safety
concerns.
Role of conflict: When the workforce is given the conflicting role as for managing
various positions multiple, and too many role being assigned (McLaughlin and et.al., 2022).
Also, the uncertain job expectations about the job will be causing stress to the management.
Bad management practices, culture, style: When the workplace has the poor style,
culture and the communication between various personnel are not appropriate. Also, the
employees are not included in the decision-making process, lack of proper system lack of
recognition in the job will be regarded as the another factor for the workplace stress to the
management.
2. Explaining the symptoms of Stress at workplace
Stress is the normal response of the workload. It can be beneficial for the short run will
help in managing the work and stay up to date with the work which assist in performing with the
best. Stress management symptoms generally fall in three categories which includes the
emotionally, mentally and behaviourally. Which comprises the muscular tensions, headaches,
difficulties in sleeping, also the mental incudes the depression, anxiety, irritation,
discouragement, difficulty in concentration. Furthermore, the behavioural symptoms include
aggression, disinterest, isolation, mood swings, frustration.
By using the GAS theory will help better in determining the stress symptoms in which it
undergoes and expresses how the body exposes the stress which is regarded as positive and
negatively. This theory generally comprises three stages which consists of: the alarm stage,
resistance stage and exhaustion stages. These all stages will help in determining the symptoms of
the stress being caused at the workplace.
Alarm reaction: The first stage will help in recognizing the initial symptoms which body
experiences under stress. As the initial symptoms includes the natural reaction of the body as the
heart rate increase, the stress hormone released by the gland called cortisol, which generally
increases the energy level and the sugar level will increase. This stage prepares the person to
respond with fight to fight.

With the resistance stage: In the stressful initial stage, in Resistance stage it lowers the blood
pressure and makes it on the normal stage. The body will enter into the recovery phase but when
the body start to realize that the situation is no longer concerned as an issue will start repair the
hormones levels, heart rates will come down. In this the body goes certain changes and condition
which are unaware and cannot cope up with that stress. But if the resistance stage period
continues for longer time will result in exhaustion for the body. The main signs and symptoms of
resistance stage includes the irritation, frustration and the concentration level goes down of an
individual.
Exhaustion stage: This stage is regarded as the very critical, in final stage the body goes on with
the depleted energy as because it was continuous trying to improve and recover from the stress at
the initial stage. Struggling with the stress for the loner period will drain the emotional, physical
and the mental strength which assists in fighting from the stress. This will be the hopeless
situation of the individual to cope up with the stress. Symptoms of exhaustions generally
includes: fatigue, burning out, depressions, anxiety for coping up and continuously decreasing
the stress tolerance.
Thus, this model helps in identifying and understanding possible symptoms firm the
workplace stress. Furthermore, the common effect of stress includes the headaches, muscle pain,
increase in heart rates, fatigue, high blood sugar, increase in cholesterol, digestive issues, weak
immune system (Nigatu and et.al., 2019). The stress will also effect the mood by increasing the
restlessness, irritation, mood swings, anger. Moreover, the stress can contribute to various
incidents which will result in poor sleeping, depressed feeling, nervousness, becoming angry
frequently.
3. Analysing different measures for managing the stress at the workplace to improve employee
commitment, performance and organizational productivity.
Various measures which can be adopted for managing the stress at the workplace which will
improves the employee commitment, performance and organisational productivity are as
follows:
Psychological support: Meditation and relaxation, deep breathing interventions must be
set up for the employees. Also, designing some physical and psychological benefits related
measures which will help in overcoming the stress factors. By adopting these interventions in

this the workforce are educated for various alternative which can be adopted for relieving stress
situations and stay positive during that time (Pietromonaco, Overall and Powers,2022). Although
some programs will teach the staff personnel’s for making them committed and connected
towards the work.
Training and development: Training and development programs within the organization
will aim at the skills and ability which is to be acquired by the employees for performing the job
with respect to the stressful situation. Thus, the stressful working environment will be effectively
managed by the training and various development programs which helps employees in building
the need for the self-management. As the training programs at the organization will provide
better learning process which will respond to the needs acquiring for managing the stress of
employee.
Employees welfare programs: The employee welfare programs must be established for
effectively providing the benefits for the employees. By establishing these programs will help in
improving the management practices which is being adopted for managing the workforce. also
provide the workplace flexibility, helps in increasing the wok life balance to greater extent. The
work life balance will provide better terms of recruitment, employees benefits for the turnover,
greater satisfaction, productivity and lower absenteeism which further results in lowering the
stress level of employees.
Job redesign: The workplace environment is considered as the major factor for relieving stress.
The environment problems in the organization considering the job style and the design of the job
will give stress and workload to the workforce. Though the constant time pressures from the
head department and the deadlines will create stress (Sharma and et.al., 2022). As the job design
will purposely design the work and the structure of all the aspect which will affect the
employee's productivity. So changing the job design and styles for the employees will help in
relieving stress and better commitment.
Establishing the performance curve: The management must have established the performance
curve which will helps in explaining the performance of employees. This will help in evaluating
the pressure on employees (Suwandana, Satrya and Riana, 2022). When the pressure is low for
wok the employees get bored so for maintaining he optimum pressure on employees and not so
high pressure for work will help in reeling stress and maintains the production and commitment
by the employees.

and taking tie for self-care which will provide mental peace.
The overstressed job decreases employee’s productivity, so for this the management must
propose the proper strategies regarding the working hours, managing the performance of

Team personnel should Eat healthy food for maintaining proper mental health, stress
level will majorly benefit the level of immune system. Nutrients which are rich in
proteins and fatty acids also the nuts.
manager must give proper attention to the workforce which helps in creating positive
working environment that may urge them to be responsible and productive with their
commitment.
CONCLUSION
From this report it can be concluded that the stress management is very useful approach
which uses various techniques in working with staff personnel’s and leads to productivity and
better performance. Also, this reports have given the analysis the symptoms of stress
management, causes and the measures to overcome the stress. For managing the stress in the

A. Assessing the inabilities to get the opportunity for the placement impacted on the
development of employability skills
The inability to get the opportunity to do the placement has negatively impacted for the
development of the employability skills as reflecting on this by using the Gibbs model:
This model is the self-reflection model which helps and individual to think systematically about
the various experiences which has been gone through while performing the specific activity and
also drawing the conclusions on the same. This reflection model has assisted me in learning my
strengths, weakness, progress to be made and achievements to be done in near future.
Description of event: For being unable to get placement as an advisor at the ABC organization
has impacted my various skills related to employment. I was unable to motivate, advise and
communicate various things related to stress management to the employees being working in the
organization. As when the employees were facing the stress related issue during various
operation I was unable to tell instantly to all employees about how to deal with the stress. I was
feeling very nervous and guilty that I was unable to be at this position as an advisor. The further
outcome was that I have decided to better work on myself and build various skills which must be
acquired for placement in the company.
Feelings: As being unable to get placement in the company, I had The feeling of guilt and
apathetic of doing something as I was unable to get placement. When I realized that I was not
suitable for the position I got quite frustrated. But I have little motivation These feelings will
help me to develop the better and proper communication skills, adapting flexibility, motivating
skills, decision-making skills. Furthermore, the personality traits have impacted by the inability
for the placement which needs to be developed.
Evaluation: In the evaluation area, there was only the negative outcome which have occurred
due to inability to be posted as an advisor at ABC company. As it has hindered the ability and the
development in the employability skills. I was demotivated for not being able to assign for the
position. This has contributed negative effect on my learning style, communication ability,
decision-making skills, collaborating capacity and team working skills.

Analysis: with this step I have analysed my own self and the improvement areas which i have to
improve on my own for building the various abilities and skills as of building various
employability skills. As being unable for the placement has helped me in analysing my strengths,
weakness and various opportunities of skills that can be grabbed for getting better opportunity in
near future of placement in company. I also think that with the various inabilities of motivating
team personnel’s, guiding, communicating, and taking decisions were some major weaknesses
which is being recognized as for being the advisor.
Conclusion: From this situation I have learned for developing various employability
skills. Which must be acquired for being an advisor position as of being rejected for the
placement. I have also learned that there are certain challenges which an individual need to face
in order to have the desired position.
Action plan: For coping with the weakness and inabilities, I will make plan and notes for
getting organized about the things and work which is being assigned. Will learn to advance the
education and knowledge about various skills with training and education and academics which
will help me in improving my communication skills, also team working will be better by getting
self-motivated with the work. Which will help me in getting placements as early as possible in
better company.
B. In the absence of the work placement, what measures have to put in place in order to acquire
the employability skills
As in the absence of the placement there are certain measures which can be adopted to
develop the employability skills and enhances self-development:
Improving the communication skills: These can be improved by participating various speaking
forums, various group working activities, participating as a spokesperson in project. Also,
developing presentation skills by preparing early, rehearsing for giving the presentation on
particular topic will help in building better communication and face expressions. Furthermore,
the non-verbal communication will also be improved.
Becoming self-motivated by taking various initiatives will enhance and improve the performance
for completing the work this will assist me in developing the motivation skills.
Building professionalism will help me in boosting and mastering my various skills which is
essential for the decision-making, problem solving also aids in building various personality traits
