INTRODUCTION
It is necessary to have relevant skills and abilities in order to work in organisation.
Also, the skills enable professional and personal growth. However, in work placement there are
goals to be attained as well. similarly, i was working in PSPA where my role was to collect info
about hospitals, nurse, carers etc and upload it on server. This was not a easy job for me as i
have to work independently. In this report i will describe about experience of working in
helpline team in PSPA. Also, i will discuss about what i learned during it and what skilled i
gained (Etheridge, and Boursicot, 2017).
MAIN BODY
I got a placement in PSPA in such a critical situation of covid 19. So, it was a chance for
me to learn something and gain knowledge as well which will help me in my future career. In
that organisation i my role was to work with help line team and to gather info about nurse,
doctor, etc from internet and upload on database. This seems to be simple job but it require a lot
of critical skills and knowledge for it. as i have to work independently so i was nervous in
beginning but then i was able to do it. this led to build in my confidence as well. therefore,
there are several skills which i developed while working in office. They are described as below
Team work- Various positions depends on it more than other people as an employee I will
always needs helps from others at some level to manage various work at the workplace. When I
start off that means that I must delegate work to my subordinates and also needs helps from
peers regarding vital work overall they have much more experience than me so it will aids me in
future as delegating work to my subordinates means that knowing how to work with other more
efficiently as well as effectively (Plantard, and et.al., 2017). This skills also play a vital role by
knowing the strength of the subordinates as it is a key skill for the success for the workplace’s
future growth. The more better I know how to work within groups, the better will able to perform
collectively. Without such teamwork skill I will able to slowing down the operation which is not
better for the workplace and for myself also.
Project Management skills- This skills assists me for better handling responsibilities before as
well as ensures that it can executed properly. As it is noticed that being organized means that I
will be more likely to prioritize my tasks effectively, work on time as well as seeks solutions
regarding problems before even they becomes worst. Management skills are also useful within
any position, thus without the management skills especially within working place like hospitals

even the most capable workers makes critical mistakes such as not assigning sequence wise
appointments, patients information is also leaked and various work tasks that perform timely
such as emergency case patients needs immediate take care or patient’s surgery details as per
their health and directions of doctors also comes under organization skills (Holdsworth, and
et.al., 2019). Also staff members get their salary on time or not, their bonus and many more,
because it keeps them motivating and do their work more effectively so I leaned all these things
from the hospital firms. Also patients needs medicine , injections timely so becoming the
organizing skills strong aids me to keep important thing timely and more precisely.
Time management – here I learned that how to manage time and attain goals within deadline.
Also, I gained knowledge about strategy of time management and how to maintain balance
between professional and personal life. Besides that while working in PSPA I learned that to
prepare schedule. This is because it helps in completing tasks on time. Moreover, with that
discipline is maintained as well. this skill will help me to manage time in office. I will finish my
work in specified time. This skills helped me in my personal life (Cumberland and et.al., 2016).
As I was working I PSPA there was certain objective which I had to attain. These
objectives were to gain more skills so that it helps me in future. Another objective of mine
was to work for social care of people as my interest is to help others. In order to attain these
objective I specified time period of 1 -2 year. It is found that there are certain theory and
practice which can enable in attaining goals. Also, theory helps in evaluating self reflection as
well. with that it becomes easy to find out what problems were faced, how experience was,
what was learned, weak areas, etc. so, basically gibbs reflective model is used in it. by
working in PSPA I faced certain situation in which I was not able to solve problem and
understand what to do. But by working in logical way I did it easily. Apart from these I learned
many more skills which I think that it will help me in my career. So, working in PSPA was a
overall a good experience for me as I gained a lot of knowledge from it.
Effective communication- It is one of the key which gives me ultimate success as no matter
where one can work, what line of work one can do, communication will be one of vital factor for
success. It includes provides information at work place to manager, staff etc. and other members
needs someone whom they can communicate so providing information about the clients helps
them a lot and many more examples that are fit within effective communication. It can be phone
based ,face to face and mostly written (Spook, and et.al., 2019). Advancing within my career I

need a chance that will enhance my career and for that I have to use the strong verbal
communication skill so that I can able to sell my products, ideas as well as services to others. It
is also valuable to explain my value while considering for promotion as well as presenting as a
vital part of the team project and also speaking on the stage as all of these platforms requires
verbal communication strong as well as convey persuasive and string ideas. In today’s
competitive world the communication forms are practically limitless but the baseline skills are
also accountable that communication success are consider as fundamental. Also we live within
an era of sound bites and tweets but at the same time written communication still matters a lot
when if it is about someone’s career. Thus in PSPA whether I am communicating with doctors
nurse, sending professional emails as well as trying to deliver a plan or several things between
it , I must be able to communicate more effectively, accurately and quickly. This skills helped
me in my personal life (van der Schaaf, and et.al., 2017).
Critical thinking- It is known as one of the vital process regarding problem solving that enables
me to find and address my faults points or weakness within an environment. It also enabled me
for more creative solutions to the problems, faster analysis for bad situations as well as provided
greater pattern identification for within large systems as well as its applications. Critical thinking
makes me more capable of analyzing, acknowledging as well as solving problems without much
if any impact from outside.
Confidence - As a person confidence plays a vital role in one’s life and for me also. It also might
be seen like a trait but this can be honed, gained as well as developed as a skills also. I can
enhanced my confidence while working in PSPA. The more I try to do something , the more
confident I will be doing it . Within several areas confidence can be known as the product of the
practiced habits. Such as if I work on my improving on my thinking it helps me lot as it
naturally becomes my habit and I known as the confident person such as while working within
hospital from my positive thinking I can help various nurse who can deals with mental ill
diseases and also veterinary patients who are ill from very long years and now there thinking
becomes negative so by helping them also boosts my confidence. Thus confidence is a key that
leads to greater precision, greater efficiency as well as greater respect all over the world (Jaegers,
and et.al., 2020).
Creativity- it is an important skill that we all need today in the world full of competition. Within
the fast changing world as within workplace employers values more workers who can look

beyond the present as well as imagine future possibilities for the firm. Creative employees are
the one who can asks why this happen and more importantly they are curious for each and every
thing that happens around them. As a creative employee I am developed new ideas as well as
solutions for the problems which I faced in PSPA
Negotiation- It is also consider as one of the vital role as whether it’s about finalizing a deal
through a client, or salary discussion or also during the project tries to find the common ground
with doctor or nurse in PSPA. As being an employee having effective and string negotiation
skills are extremely vital. Thus being a good negotiator enables me to reach out the goals which
is consider as a vital part of successful career (Sorensen, and et.al., 2018).
Technology- As Technology is changing very fast over the time as everyone needs to be
mastered in technical skills for their job as keeping up with technology is necessary. In hospital
technology is required as with the fast growing technology world now doctors needs more
improved technology to treat their patients. I developed my technology skills because it assists
me to differentiate from others who do not have any type of idea of technology skills. In hospital
several machines are coming that are fully work for the treatment of patients and requires an
advanced technological skills to operates them. So I gained knowledge about technology tools
in PSPA.
Empathy- It is consider as the ability to see things from the other people’s point of view or from
their perspective by understanding their reactions and emotions as it is known as the fundamental
part of how one person communicate with others. In the workplace genuine and authentic
communication with other plays an important role so this skills helps me when I am disagree
with my colleagues as because of this skills I can see things as per their point of view during the
project. Such as empathy is the one that can enables us to demonstrate to other people that they
are heard and seen . So this skill also plays an important part in my life. This skills helped me in
my personal life also as sometimes I am not agree with my friends and parents so because of this
skill I needs to understand the situation on their side also and this helps me to understand my
relations more as compare to earlier (O'Leary, and et.al., 2016).
Problem solving- To go beyond the immediate job and use more facts, knowledge and data see
the gaps and solve problems is one of the skills that everybody needs today. Being a good
problem solver it is vital because employers of the firm values those employees who are good at
problem solving and also go through challenges without any hesitations. Problem arises within

work place also can be solved through sharing thoughts, brainstorming alternatives, defining
issues as a team members discuss with other employees or subordinates as these things focuses
on me and helps to build my career in more positive sense. I learned that how to solve problem
in time and attain goals within deadline.
Research and analysis- This skill needs within every conceivable position. Marketers requires to
analyses and research their campaigns. Engineers needs to do research and analysis
technologies known as potential technologies. In hospital there is need to analyses the other
hospital trends and how they can treat their patients more effectively. Also being able to find
information more faster and quicker and review as well as recognizes key patterns is significant
for any type of the job . Some skills are develops naturally within a person over the time as I can
gain experience within a more professional world but for most of the part I require to seek them
as several other skills . I will dedicate myself to improves each and every skills of these areas as
well as maximizes my chances for succeeding within my position (Gaunt, and et.al., 2017).
I analysed that by working in help line team my performance was average. However, I
attained by target which I set but still as it was beginning so i need to go long. Furthermore,
being observer of PSPA I learned that there is need to provide training to candidate so they are
able to perform job. Without that it is difficult for them. Besides that I learned that there is
need to evaluate performance of individual staff so that weak areas are determined and on basis
of it training is given. This will led to their growth and development. There is require to have a
leader in team so that he or she can guide and direct members. Through that it goals can be
attained in effective way. Leader also help in motivating members and improving their
efficiency. So, in this way it overall organization performance is enhanced. but I got training by
watching videos on internet hence it was simple for me. But still I find it difficult to manage
and provide help of all people (Holdsworth, and et.al., 2019). For that I require support of
senior. Moreover, I learned to work independently and analysed its pros and cons. There was
few objective which I did not achieved. this was because of lack of support and guidance in
PSPA. So, my experience in it was bad and I need to find out new opportunity to learn new
skills. this must be related to my field and interest. In future in want to become a leader in health
and social care.

CONCLUSION
It is summarised that skills are consider as a form of currency within world. These skills
makes me more valuable as an employee. It makes me more attractive as a more potential
employee, as from such skills able to make money. I learned a lot of new skills in PSPA which
will be helpful in my career. Here, I learned communication skills, problem solving, creativity,
etc. I was able to attain my goals in effective way but few I did not achieved. being observer at
PSPA I learned that there is need to provide training to candidate so they are able to perform
job. Without that it is difficult for them. A leader must be there within team. They direct in
doing things properly.
