Work life balance :
The term work life balance means that the equilbrium between time allocated for
performing tasks and to focus on other areas of the life. There are various areas of life such as
family, personal interest and social activities etc. It is one of the most important aspect of healthy
working environment. According to Kavitha (2017) It helps to reduce the stress and also assist in
preventing burnout at the workplace such as chronic stress etc. There are various things
individual can do to maintain healthy work life balance such as by prioritizing time, plotting
some personal time, managing time and making workspace work.
The term well being means the condition of being comfortable, happy and healthy.
Happiness is an important part of personal well-being but, other things are also important such as
sense of purpose, fulfilment of long term goals etc. It does not mean only that, how the
individual feel physically or psychologically. Further, it is not only about absence of negative
pressures or illness but, in terms of active positive mental health also. In my view, well-being is
the combination of motivational as well as behavioural dimensions and positive effect on health.
Impact on individual, leader and organization.
As per the view of Deery & Jago (2015) the work life balance creates significant impact
on life of individual. Further, the increase in number of hours of working may also impact the
lifestyle of the people. When employee’s have healthy work life balance they remain happy and
it leads to improvement in performance.
The work life balance is also important for the leader of the organization. It is the
responsibility of Leader of the organization to implement work life balance programmes for the
employee’s. They should make efforts to provide clarity regarding role and expectations to
workers. Further, they should cnduct tea development activities for team members that helps to
maintain work life balance. Leader of the organization is responsibile to provide details to
employee’s that helps to identify risk and support workers at risk Khandelwal & Shekhawat
(2018).
According to Khandelwal & Shekhawat (2018) Work life balance helps to create positive
impact on the productivity of the business. The more policies companies develop for the workers
the more will be improvement in the overall productivity of the company. There is a direct link
between level of employee engagement and work life balance. It is important to develop a

working environment where workers feel like they have personal life also. It is an important part
of making employee’s free from burnout. It will leads to greater work productivity.
