Overview of Business
Tesco is a multination retail and grocery supermarket chain based in United Kingdom. The
retailer has its head quarters in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire England. Tesco is considered
to be the third largest company in the retail industry measuring by gross revenues. The retail
chain is vastly covered with its stores in seven countries around the world. Also, Tesco is the
leading company in UK with the largest market share among all. Tesco offers its customers a
dynamic range of products with groceries to clothing and retail to banking services.
Tesco’s goals and objectives
The prime aim of the company is to serve its customers with the highest quality products at
reasonable prices so as to maintain its leading status in the market (Tesco Careers, 2015). Tesco
is also focused on attaining customer satisfaction along with employee satisfaction.
In addition to that Tesco has a number of objectives:
ï‚· To enhance sales figures in the coming years.
ï‚· To serve the local community by creating employment.
ï‚· To reduce prices of its products so as to fit in budget of households.
ï‚· To inculcate healthy eating habits among people by providing high quality and fresh
groceries (Yan, 2011).
Position description for the job role
Position: Marketing Manager
The role of a Marketing manager at Tesco incubates designing of strategy to brand manage the
company’s customers and to create a variant image of Tesco in perception of customers. Tesco is
also looking for:
o To Develop for an appropriate pricing strategy to attain business objectives.
o To form brand strategy for brand positioning and building (Tynan & McKechnie, 2009).
o Identify customer needs and demands by trend prediction and insight.
I am interested in this job role as I think that my skill set will suit the job profile in a perfect
way. I am a creative person with an observing eye, I like to study trends where I think I will be

most useful as to make strategies for Tesco to fulfil their requirements. I analyse situation very
and make decision based on that analysis which will help stress conditions.

o To develop and manage brand programme to improve brand value and PR
responsibilities.
o Insight into customer needs and assess the retail chain accordingly, arrange the product
development along the analysis (Keegan, 2017).
o Leading the team to establish finest quality service and upgrade sales figures.

most proficient service to the company. Also, it will me gain knowledge which will add to my
portfolio as well as enhance my career growth.
