INTRODUCTION
In present time it is important to create balance between personal and professional life.
There is required to manage work place priorities and focus on the professional development
activities which is achieved through improve skills and knowledge of employees. Professional
development to an employee is a continuous activity that is achieved by involving in various
activities. In this project Woolworth organisation is selected to elaborate the concept of work
place priorities and professional development. Woolworth operates in supermarkets since 1924
and possess headquarters in Australia with 995 other locations. In this project report plan for
personal work goals project, plan with priorities project is prepared. Together with this
professional development presentations and professional development report is prepared and
described under the project report.
ASSESSMENT 1
1. Explain the concept of self appraisal and how it contribute in reviewing performance
Self appraisal is the evaluation of individual of their own actions & activity. Here, after
evaluating themselves worker gives feedback for their performances. Individual critically
analyse their results in terms of strengths as well as weaknesses. If they required any
improvement then it will be fulfil through providing various training. It helps in contributing
individual performance through self assessment and it beneficial for organization to identify the
area of improvement. Self appraisal will be based on various skills such as communication,
problem solving, team work, decision making etc.
2. Explain the concept of peer appraisal and its benefits
It is a form of 360 degree feedback where peers gives feedback about individual and their
performances in the organization. Peer appraisal provide a prospective which helps the
individual to grow and achieve their goals & objectives in the workplace. This appraisal is the
part of performance appraisal peers, subordinates, superior, team leader asked to give feedback
about individual performance. It provide various benefits such as encourage more inclusive team
dynamic where peers have deeper insight about individual. Along with this, it encourage the
development through sharing gaols. It helps the manager to understand individual performance
which further impact production or profitability.

that operates in the form of supermarkets. The role that is selected to perform is for Human
Resource Manager. The position of HRM will be superior to all the employees for managing
good employees relation and retention with the company. Companies website describes about
products in which company deals, consumer related services provided by them. Together with
this job opportunities available in the company and all the information that is required to know
about woolworths is available.
Woolworths have a very attractive website at the same time all the information that is
required to be present is also available. The description provided for the job is quite appropriate
as it describes regarding what role a HRM needs to be performed while working with the
company. While working with the company goals that are planned for the next twelve months

Human resource planning: An effective planning will be made to keep human
resources and related overheads to the minimum. Right person for the right job must be
appointed to reduce cost and avoiding expenses of re-recruitment.

Learning style include the range of theories which helps the individual to enhance their
learning by using it. Five learning styles discussed below:
Visual: With the help of pictures and images, individual able to enhance their learning.
Aural: By using sound or music organization able to increase employees understanding
& learnings.
Verbal: Manager have to ensure that, which mode of communication they used such as
oral or written.
Physical: By using body or touch another person in necessary in learnings for example:

Logical: By using logic, reasoning and systems as learning style.
