INTRODUCTION
Work related learning refers to practices and actions that an individual person is
accountable to conduct and utilize in the context of developing their skills, knowledge and
comprehending about varied aspects, things and concepts. This practice in term provide varied
advantages to individuals in term of providing chance to immerse themselves in a specific field.
The current assignment will be based on specific professional area and that is marketing
assistant. The study will justify personal skill audit, career paths in short, medium and long term
as a graduate, and also define range of suitable progression activities that can materialize
following end of studies.
TASK
1- Analysis of key competencies through SWOT analysis.
SWOT analysis helps in analysing internal strengths and weakness along with certain
external opportunities and threats that are needed to be considered while achieving certain targets
or goals (Madsen and Stenheim, 2022). Below is the table that displays list of skills that are
helpful in future progression.

From the above table it can be said that I have better negotiation skills that is very
essential for the field of marketing in retail sector where different customers need to be

handled in effective manner. Also, my good communication skill is essential as it would help in
selling large amount of goods of company and generate maximum revenues. Further, I have the
ability to work under pressure that would be helpful in situations where lot of sales activities
need to be conducted in the professional environment. However, I have analysed that I am very
impatient person and due to which sometimes my productivity is affected to vast level. Further,
time management skills also need to be developed so that all tasks could be completed on time.
Also, I have observed that being emotional every time is major demerit for me as some decisions
need to be taken with mind. However, I have fond that through better networking skills and
earning prospects I would be able to overcome my weakness over a period. In-spite of this I
would find difficulty in facing some threats for my career such as I do not have any experience
of work in private sector due to which I might lose some best of the opportunities that come
along for my future growth. Thus, by carefully analysing the above skills I am able to look for
options that are best suited according to goals and objectives I wish to achieve in the future.
Moreover, corrective actions would be taken on time to overcome all my challenges so that there
no problems while achieving the future growth in areas where I wish to excel.
2- Identifying the career prospects.
Career development opportunities help in reaching new levels through continuous
education and skill advancement that would help in getting desirable job in the future (White and
Du, 2021). Thus, it would also introduce new areas of professional interest and ensure that I
remain motivated and inspired all the time. Career paths are one of those elements and methods
that contributes to enhance individual performance and aid to achieve their strategic aims in
effective manner, whether they are in short, long or medium term (Pew, Zamudio and Meng,
2021). After graduation, I had many options as career paths in the field that I had chosen above
and that is marketing. I had considered all the specific career paths on the basis of skills that I
have such as creative thinking, negotiation, communication and flexibility as work in situation
when stress and pressure level is high. The professional paths that are realistically open for me
are:
Marketing assistant-
It is one of those long or short term career paths that are open and I can consider after
graduation completion. The current job role is related to field that I had chosen to grow
professionally and grab employment benefits in bulk. I had those skills that contribute to play

this role and fulfil the responsibilities of marketing assistant position in retail sector, where
several organizations and their management are tending to recruit talented candidates. The
current career path is considered as an entry level job or profession in marketing field, that allow
me to grow rapidly and gain varied benefits (Vernuccio, Patrizi and Pastore, 2020). According to
this job role, my duty is to implement strategic marketing campaigns and tactics, which is
possible when I had to interact with other members, and this is possible because I had good
communication skill that boost my morale & confidence to work with others. Marketing assistant
is accountable for several things such as implementing strategies, coordinate with team members
and more (Marketing Assistant, 2020).
Director of marketing analytics-
It included in category of short or medium term career paths that are realistically open for
me and I will consider as a graduate (Petrescu and Krishen, 2021). I had one of those
competencies that is according to the role and enable me to fulfil the key accountabilities of
director of marketing analytics. For example, I will develop plan and implement the same in
effective manner because I had creative thinking skill that enable me to become a creative
person. With current skills I will use the most essential and beneficial KPIs, which allow me to
measure & track specific things, like increasing web traffic, etc. As I had completed my
graduation and obtained high scores in marketing study, I will grab employment chance that
accessible in the world of business such as director of marketing analytics, which bring several
employment advantages for me.
VP of digital marketing-
Along with above, there are more career pathways accessible in the corporate world and
realistically open. For instance, Vice president of marketing or digital advertising is long termed
career pathway, that I will take into my consideration after graduation or as a graduate person.
The role of VP of digital marketing is quite challenging for me because it needed a combination
of competencies such as technical, effective communication and other venture skills, among
which certain I had and some I tend to develop. According to this profession, my role is to
conduct interview and hire candidates in major positions within a company, where I will work
and perform in systematic manner. Along with this, I am also responsible to build & successfully
manage promotions regarding a product, service or venture in effective and influencing way.
Chief marketing officer-

Just like above three, more career pathways are realistically available and open for me in
long term and that is chief marketing officer. By considering this opportunity I will become a c-
extent corporate executive who is accountable to conduct several strategic activities in an
organization whether it is operating in national or international level within retail industry. It can
be said that chief marketing officer is responsible to communicate and deliver offerings to
customers that they value a lot and tend to obtain in term of products and services, that meet their
needs and up to the mark as per expectations. If I chose this profession, it is my responsibility to
interact with others whether they are customers or colleges in appropriate way, without using
complex words and long sentences that make their understanding complicated.
3- Progression opportunities
It is quite essential for a student to consider key progression activities and practices,
because it enables them to overcome the negative impact of major barriers that affect career
growth in adverse manners. Like other individuals, after graduation, I had considered potential
growth activities such as aim setting, which is important for me to do that as it drive my
attention toward considering short, long and medium term career pathways. It is one of those
progression actions that provide key benefit to me in term of setting achievable goals that play
vital role in my professional career success and progress. By setting achievable aims I can take
actions and move to next steps easily as it play role as strategic indicator that indicate which
career path is suitable for me and what I need to conduct in term of actions to grab the same.
Planning for future is as similar as above activity because it also boosts my morale and
drive attention toward in the future success as grabbing chance to become Vice president of
digital marketing in a well-reputed organization that operated in retail sector in effective and
productive manner. This practice covers a lot of things and links to data that I can find out in
relation to chosen career pathways and that is marketing assistant. I had actually done some of
these in my life cycle, but they are assuredly all worth looking at. This activity refer to practice
of thinking further growth in field of marketing (Salleh and et.al., 2020).
Skills development is also considered as progress activity that is beneficial and essential
for anyone to consider when they graduate, like me. This practice encompasses varied elements
that play significant role in professional and personal growth (Volkova and et.al., 2020). In the
recent time skill development contribute to enhance the performance and productivity of
individuals who are able to completed their graduation and now finding a specific career

pathway to grow rapidly. It is one of the best opportunities that I will grab to become a skilled
and talented employees in the organization, where I will plan to work responsibility and attempt
to provide desire outcomes. Skill development is defined as procedure of improving and
developing key competencies among individuals who tend to grab specific employment chance
and want to develop themselves accordingly.
Progression barriers-
Lack of information about career pathways-
After graduation and become a graduate individual, when I approach to grab specific
career pathway, I had face major challenges due to certain things. It can be said that without
having and developing appropriate understanding about specific profession, and collecting
information about that. It is quite impossible for a person to grow as it lead to decrease their
performance and bring more challenges that is tough to overcome.
Lack of confidence-
It is another progression challenge that may put negative impact on success and progress
of individuals when they complete their graduation and try to find progressive employment
opportunity. Without confidence no one will grab expect outcome and gain benefits that are
accessible in the world of employment or job market. With full confidence I will grow
effectively and in productive way, which is important and useful for me.
Lack of strategic directions-
Another concept that consider in list of progression barrier is current one, which means a
person may face issue to grow because of not posing better comprehending about suggestions
and having the same thing. It is important for me as well as others to have strategic directions
and take guidance from experience holders who have gained excellent growth chances and
become a star employee in a company.
Emerging requirements of employers-
I will face challenge when I become graduate and plan to grow my professional career.
The issue that I would deal is current one that mean the changing demand and expectations of
employers or recruiters related to marketing assistant, bring challenges for me. Due to these
barriers the progress or success is not that easy for me.

CONCLUSION
By summing up above discussion, it has been summarized that personal skills audit has
contributed to enhance the performance and confident level among individuals. It has boosts

opportunities. Furthermore, from above analysis, it has been concluded that by conducting
profession activities and take other into considerations, they had taken pleasure of achieving set
aims and objectives. By taking right decisions and using suitable practices, they had overcome
