INTRODUCTION
Work related learning is referred to the activities which are assignments which use the
context of the work for the development of the student's knowledge and skills for understanding
the learning through their experiences at work. In this report effectiveness of the work related
skills in meeting the requirements of the job will be discussed. This report will also analyse the
career development opportunities for the student in the study sector. This report will be able to
develop the skills and abilities and management and appreciation of new competencies. I am a
student in the university of Business Studies.
MAIN BODY
Key Competencies
From analysing my key competencies that will contribute towards the imminent career
and my future progress into a graduate employment a personal SWOT analysis can be used. This
analysis will be able to audit the key strengths, weaknesses, skills and attributes which is need to
work on or improve (Pluchevckaya, Varlacheva and Andrienko, 2017).
Strengths :
One of my greatest personal strengths as a student are the grades which I have been able
to achieve in most of my assessments during my graduation. It has provided me the scope of
uplifting my resume which would be a very important part of me for getting the desired job.
Apart from this I am also very good with researching and problem solving skills. This is one of
my best strengths which has helps me to gather the information which is essential in the
organization. My knowledge for the management of the business has developed from the work
related experiences I have developed during the internships I was part of. Due to having such
strong researching and problem solving skills in addition to the experiences I have developed
others generally notice me have good decision-making skills. Having worked in an organization
as an intern I was able to increase their performance by 5% which I consider to be a great
achievement in the competitive world (Živčicová and Gullerová, 2017). There are very few
graduates rather than me which can make such calculated decisions in comparison to me.
Weaknesses :
Some weaknesses of mine are generally the tasks which I try to avoid. I generally avoid
interactions with new individuals which shows the lack of communicational skills that I have.
Most of my colleagues and friends have told me having this issues in my personal development.

Despite being total confident about the learnings related to the management it is difficult for me
to work with others. This is the reason I am not able to communicate effectively with my team
members. My poor leadership skills are the reflection of the communicational issues which I
have shown during my experiences. It can be considered to be my weaknesses as leadership and
communication is very essential for the management of an organization as it helps the business
to grow. Apart from this I can say that management of time is issues for me as I take a lot of
stress at work due to which I am not able manage my time which often gets me late to important
meeting, assessment and lectures,
Opportunities :
I have some strong opportunities in front of me to develop my work-related learning. It
can be said my growing interest in the use of technology for better performance of the
management practices is certainly an opportunity for growth. Through technology, I have been
able to improve my communication and also find way of improving my learning practices. It can
be said that learning new trends is going to be a great way through which I can develop my skills
and abilities for the future employment. Few trends which I am able to follow are related to the
competitors advantages that can provide the management of the organization with important
advantages. Development of my communication can make me very efficient leader as I believe
in having all the other pieces of the puzzle except communication and leadership.
Threats :
Connection with the other workers, team members is one of the biggest issues which I
have. This is big issues as in most interviews for jobs the most common and important skills is
communication which is essential in an individual to be successful (Sarmasági, 2021). Some of
my friends from the same university are competing against me for similar job roles which is
threat to my relations with them and also emotional impact which it can create on my
performance. My weakness of time management can become into a massive threat of lack of
punctuality which can be a great threat to the growth of my individual learning professionalism.
Career Prospects
My career prospects will move into the direction of management in the manufacturing
organizations. This is due to the experiences which I have in the during the internship which I
was a part of in which I learned from the experience at work itself. Thus, on the basis on this the
following career pathways can be created,

Short term :
In the short term I would focus on getting a job at an organization within the field of
manufacturing. This would help me to increase my work experiences which are going to be very
effective and influential for my career growth. For improving the management experiences I
would focus on the development of my communication skills. These skills are going to help me
to improve my transferable skills which would allow me to improve the relations which I have
with the productive experiences. As the part of my small profession objective I would create time
routine which would be important for me manage the time which I can use for the creation of the

would be the stage in which I would have to make sure that all my weaknesses have been

team others about the experiences which I have developed from working. This should be the
stage in which I would need to ensure that I am able to manage team properly. As I am the part
of the manufacturing management for so many years I would need to understand the importance
of the management of the environment.
Long term :
This is the part of the prospects in which a long term goals are needed to be focused. The
long term prospects would be to become the head of the management department of an
organization. This would require immense experiences, skills and abilities of management and
leadership which would prove to be the most effective in the management of large sized
manufacturing organization (Passolunghi and Costa, 2019). As a manager of the company my
role would be the head representative of the company operations. This would require me to
develop great sense of responsibility and decision-making. It would be also very essential for me

Progression opportunities
Career progression is considered to be the process which helps in climbing the ladder
during the work life. This is the way of moving forward in the career through promotions, new
challenges, new employment opportunities and also helps in getting the most out of the career
(Zhang and et.al., 2017). It can be said that having different number of aspects needs to
understand the elements. I would be able to improve my progression opportunities with the help
of potential progression activities which are associated with the different progression barriers
which would help in materializing for the following benefits which it can provide in the future.
These are the following activities which would help me to grow my progression opportunities,
Networking :
This is a very effective way in which the career progression is written as a guide about
the professional networking that provide the benefits of have connection with individuals which
are good for the career development of the network. It can be said as the big part of the career
progression is considered to be way in which they are able to find the opportunities which are
considered to be visible in the connection. I would want to create new connection in my field
with the HR managers, my colleagues, lecturers and other people which I would come across my
career. Analysation of the ways in which the professional development of the individual would
be needed to be made in order to understand the importance of the networking methods.
Mentoring & Coaching :
My development will also include new ways of mentoring and coaching which would
help in the development of the career progression which can also improve the communication,
leadership and mentoring skills. These skills uplift my career as manager and will provide me
with the necessary requirements of the certain aspects in the manufacturing industry. Selection of
around me work according to the needs of the company.

Training & Development :
From the analysation of the learning experiences it can be understood that utilization of
the training & development skills would provide me growth in the training courses which would
help in the development of my skills and ability (Säisä, Määttä and Roslöf, 2019). I have been
able to discover that despite have work experiences training and development are still very useful
and essential part of the development. No matter how experienced and individual is training is
still effective in their progress. Progress can be very systematic with the help of training and
development and it certainly provides the proof which is required in the future about the skills
and abilities developed.
Progress in the career can lead to growth of the individual and as a result of the learning
opportunities the management of the career progress can lead to mentoring, networking and
development of the career. I would need to ensure these activities in order to fulfil the prospects
of being a manager of the company which would require consistency and efficiency in decision-
making and being responsible.
