NSW workforce policy clearly outlines the resolve from the NSW department to inculcate
fairness in inclusiveness and to prepare the kind of employees that relates to the diversity of the
children, their parents and community as a whole.
Statement of policy-objective
Commitment:
NSW department of education is of the firm belief that the diverse workforce not only represents
the diverse background of the children and their parents but also allows NSW to better
understand the needs of its customer in a specific way. This helps them to be more responsive to
the need of the community as a whole. To serve this they attract and retain talent from the
different background so that they can instill high standard of education and training amongst its
children.
The NSW also recognizes the individual differences in the form of language, nationality, culture
etc. and has a resolve to bring fairness in creating a balanced workforce irrespective of the given
differences so as to create equal opportunity and flexibility on the terms of employment.
The Workforce diversity plans are implemented at all levels of NSW department.
Managing diversity:
Diversity in the regard of NSW department of education refers to the Equal Employment
Opportunity, and includes the group that are underrepresented such as aboriginal/Torres strait
islander, physically challenged groups, members of ethnic religious minority group, Young adult
and women on senior leadership position. The other aspect of diversity may refer to the age
diversity, sexual orientation, family responsibility and socio-economic background.
The department takes the diversity as strength, as to not only increase the visibility of the
differences in the workforce but is strategically adopted to bring the ideas, experiences, know-
how and capabilities that are built that helps the department in making the decision, finding

department to bring diversity in the workforce as a part of strategic need-that helps them to bring
changes, comes up with the new ideas and be responsive to the dynamic requirements of the
New South Wales. They take the resolve to train their staff and develop them to bring excellence.
The workforce diversity policy helps the department in achieving following objective:
A diverse workforce that reflects the different background of the student and their parents
helps them bring better customer service responsiveness to attend the need of community
as a whole in NSW.
