therefore to reach strategically business goals an organisation need adequate staff force which
can be acquired by the workforce strategically planning to meet current and future talent need.
Workforce planning is necessary because current employee are not afraid to left their current job
position for acquiring a better job that meet their career objective and aspiration. Centred on the
short term intuitive is consider to be the core reason behind the high attrition rate of a
organisation this issue rise due to making strategically business decisions without adhering
employee data (Asamani, Christmals and Reitsma, 2021).
Positive Effects of Adapting to workforce planning
Workforce planning adopted in a firm to forecast and predict staff demand and supply to
fill up current and future vacant job positions. There are many positive implications of adopting

employees skills which would help recruiter to place good and competent employee in the vacant
post. Therefore, it improve recruitment process and employee turnover ratio. Another positive
side of adopting workforce planning is relates to the examining workforce variance, this is
because many times it is being hard for a company to realise that they have gap in their
workforce planning (Desselle and and et. al, 2018). Therefore, it is the workforce planning
practice that helps the manager to answer future circumstances questions relates to whom to hire
and what core skills one should inherited to be best fit for the vacant job. An effective adoption
of the workforce planning is act as the guidance for the company to predict and select best talent
including employee retention factor and identifying skills gap and support Human resource
budget of the firm. Also, when decently used, workforce planning can support business to
determine and judge issues at early stage which help to avoid interruption and unpredicted costs.
Negative Effects of Adapting to workforce planning
Yet, workforce planning leverages so many benefits but it also have pity-full drawback
which are a concern for talent management department. One of the primary negative impact of
adopting workforce planning is related to the high expanses and more time need to be invested in
workforce planning. Moreover, when a firm adopt workforce planning there are still uncertainty
regards to the stability of the employee whom firm invest a lot in training and development
process for long term utilisation. Also, a deficiency of clearness about workforce staffing
program defrayal to employee belief clad about company decision-making, which can further
lead to poor employee engagement. However, it has been observed that when workforce
planning application are not adopted in proper manner it can stunt company growth because it
cost time and money to replace an employee (Asamani, Christmals and Reitsma, 2021).
Workforce planning can abstract current productivity of the company as the company is focusing
on the future predication while compromising the current workforce competence which needed
to be developed to retain them for longer course duration. However, workforce planning is not
suitable for some organisation which outsource their some work to other party like, many
Amazon outsource its customer support work to Teleperformance and accounting function to the
Genpect. In workforce planning, current employee terminated and fired due to not having a
competent skills which would result in low team work and collaboration and also sustain
innovation growth as with a broken team it is hard to adopt innovation in organisation working.
