TASK 1
INTRODUCTION
The role of teachers is very important towards the students. This project will discuss
different legislation which will affect the way the teacher will work with students of the age
group between 14-19 years.
National legislations
Teacher is an individual which tend to provide a proper guidance and teaching to the
students of the age group between 14-19 years have to follow certain key legislation.
Widening participation-
Widening participation strategy is the type of strategy which aims to address
discrepancies in the take-up of the higher education opportunities among various under-
represented groups of students. In other words, this approach concentrates upon students having
disadvantaged background like low income households and many other groups which face
several barriers to achieve education. This is an important approach because with this approach
the overall employability skill of the individuals is being improved and will reduce
unemployment rates within the country.
Success for all-
This is the national school improvement programme which tend to concentrate on
improving the teaching and learning capabilities of the schools (Alom and et.al, 2018). This is
being done while focusing upon literacy and implementing sustainable development, with this
the governments tend to ensure that the learner is able to achieve best in class services.
Skills for life strategy-
This was the national strategy which was being established to improve the overall
literacy rate of elders. While providing proper numerous skills improvement approaches to
improve the work productivity and providing a wider opportunity to improve working skills.
Through which desired high level of work productivity is also being achieved, through which
better employment opportunities can be achieved by the learner.
14-19 curriculum-
This is the governmental approach in which it tends to provide diploma as a new
qualification which is a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge. This diploma is

being consist of several subjects with which it is being ensured that a proper understanding about
the operations is being achieved, within this approach.
Every child/Learner matter-
This is the approach which is being taken by the government in which it tends to
improvise the learning process such that it is in the reach of a wider segment of the society
(Adamopoulos and et.al, 2020). While also the associated complexity within the learning process
is also being reduced, through which learner’s learning experience is being enhanced.
Apprenticeships-
This is the type of learning process approach in which a proper training is being provided
with the proper understanding about the theoretical knowledge as well. This is an effective
approach because with this approach the overall quality of learning is being improved and also at
the same time overall quality of learning is being improved.
Meeting Ofsted standards-
The government has established a quality index which has to be achieved by the teaching
institute. This is an effective approach because through this approach the overall quality index
can be ensured with which a uniformity within the geographic area. With this approach it is
being evaluated that by setting a daily work quality productivity mark high efforts can be made
accordingly.
Addressing needs for social and workforce development-
This is the approach in which the individuals are being provided with the specific career
oriented skills which are required for personal development. This is an effective approach
because through this approach individual are being able to improve their purchasing skills. With
which the financial growth of the local industry can also being achieved because their sales are
being enhanced.
Blended learning approaches-
This is an effective approach which is often being used by the universities, through which
it allows the international students to combine their learning process through online face to face
communication approach (Crick and et.al, 2020). With this approach it is being able to assure
that same learning experience is being achieved by several learner’s despite of wide geographic
limitations.
Wolf Report-

This is the type of report which is being developed by the secretary of state for education
commissioned, in which it tends to evaluate the overall quality index of the learning process.
This is an effective approach because through this wolf report it ensures that it is being able to
identify the weak performance areas by which desired high level of work productivity is
accomplished.
PLTS (Personal, learning and thinking skills)-
This is the approach in which overall learning process of the individual is being
evaluated, through which their personal learning method can be identified. With which
appropriate training can be provided to develop critical thinking within the individual, by which
desired target can be accomplished.
Key legislation and framework
Equality Act 2010:
According to the Equality act 2010 it has been considered unlawful for any teacher to
despite its position to discriminate between the students in any category race, gender, sex,
pregnancy and maternity or religion (CSIE, 2021). Discrimination by teachers on these grounds
are considered unlawful and affects the students. The age of the student does not matter
discrimination is prohibited under this law for any age group of students. Some issues with this
act is that it allows age discrimination which is bad as the students and this age group are very
emotional and easily get victimized of bullying. The biggest issue to this law is identification of
the breach of law is not easy. The awareness of this law is still not as much as it should be.
Recommendation to this legislation would be to consider new case studies for implementation of
the law. Age discrimination should be a part of this law as that affects the children. Therefore, it
is important for the teacher to follow this law while working with students from 14-19 age
(McKenley, 2018). This act has to be said as that legal frame work which has been designed for
protecting the rights of students. Along with the rights it also means that each student should be
equally treated. The aim of this law was to protect the students from any unfair practices. Young
students of the age 14-19 have been seen to give more time into making their career decisions.
Due to this certain guideline should be maintained by the teachers for maintaining peace in the
organization.
Every Child/ Learner Matters:

Every child matters law which suggests that all the children and student’s safety and
health is very important for the teachers. It is the responsibility of the teacher to make the
students feel joy and make them achieve equally. It is for making positive contribution to the
lives of the students and for the achievement of their economic well-being. This law is basically
for understanding the importance and the value of every student. For all the teachers these things
are the key aim for working with students of age 14-19. This issue with this law is that awareness
is required to be given to the teachers regarding this law. So that they can implement it for the
education of the children. The main reason this law was implemented was that in 2000 an 8-year-
old girl name Victoria Climbie lost her life due to the torcher which she had to face of the hands
of her Aunt and her boyfriend. This is why since then Every Child matters have been very
important for the lives of the children (Lounsbery, 2017). This law being passed so early does
not affect its strictness in the UK economy. Aim for making the law was for protection of
individuals which are the future of the country. For the students which are young they face
difficulties in understanding the context. This approach to the education of such children is the
combination of online educational materials with some traditional educational method of
classroom. This provides such students both the physical presence of teachers and also some key
innovative method of development of learning skills over a time.
Duty of care:
The main aim of this law has to be regarding each individual will the individual is
involved in a certain activity. This law contains following of all legal duties and morale for the
benefit of the individual. This is why this law is a duty towards the actions of the people in a
certain way. This is that duty of the teachers which assists them in understanding the importance
of taking care of their students. According to this all the teachers are required to take reasonable
steps for the reduction of risks towards the students. In this law teachers are suggested to take
precautions for the safety of the students in order to minimize the risk of child abuse. The
responsibility of the teachers increases when the students are in contact with a third party for
example on a school camp. Teachers should also take care some student activities outside of the
school or colleges (GhanbariAmirhandeh, 2020). All these responsibilities also include the
legislations of equality act, every child matters and also children act. The breach to this
legislation is that obligations to this act is for the foreseen future injury to the students.
Therefore, the duty of the teacher become an anticipation of the risk of the students. This helps

the teacher to prevent any kind of harm to the students, especially the 14-19 age range. This
legislation is proven effective because according to this the teacher needs to plan the upcoming
outcomes to the students.
Reflective journal
From my experience as a student I have understood the following. As a student I have
understood that age does not matter and the discrimination of such kind is prohibited under this
law for any age group of students. Some issues which I understood was that I am bad as a student
and very emotional and easily get victimized of bullying. The biggest issue I identified was the
breach of law is not easy. This legislation according to me should be considered for
implementation of the law. In this law I basically understand the importance and the value of
every student. For all the teachers the key aim for working with students of age 14-19 should be
to treat them equally. It is suggested by me to take precautions for the safety of the students in
order to minimize the risk of child abuse. My responsibility as a teacher increases when the
students are in contact with a third party for example on a school camp. Through this overall
quality of learning I identified that with the children of 14 to 19 age group it can be identified
that suitable steps can be taken to improve the overall quality of learning. This is an effective
approach to decrease the unemployment rates within the country and providing citizens an path
to achieve their desired professional target. I think this because by proving proper guidance to
children they can be motivated to take suitable alternative steps to achieve desired target. In
order to improve the overall effectiveness of the approach proper training is being provided all
across UK. I think this because 14-19 age is the foundation age group in which training has to be
given to develop a better future.
Task 2
Analyse the relationship between schools and other providers of learning for the 14–19 age range
14-19 years of age is one in which individuals and students select subject and consider their
future choices. This is because age of 14-19 years is not just qualification but it is also a period
of learning and development. In this age individuals are also developing themselves for their
future and career choices. This is why it is required that additional efforts are made so that
situations like individuals not in unemployment, education or training can be avoided (Steadman
and Ellis, 2021). In UK Department of Education and Department for the Economy are working

together to cross cut issues related to education and training provision for 14-19 years old.
Regarding this contribution of other providers for learning is very important for enhanced
learning and development of individuals in age of 14-19.
Widening Choices
Widening choices is concerned with increasing choices available for age group of 14-19
years so that they have more options to select regarding their education and learning. Along with
widening choices young people should also be helped with making choices and decisions about
available choices and what they want to learn. Widening choices involve increasing flexibility
programme where schools and colleges and training providers provide vocational learning
opportunities for students. Young apprenticeship programme, through which young people can
work towards level 2 qualification and undertake extended period of work experience in
employer organisation is also included in widening choices. Another choice is skill for work
programme in which several opportunities for learning are provided to young people (Sinnema
and et.al., 2020). Introduction of foundation, intermediate and advanced diplomas for students
and foundation learning tier are also included in choices for individuals between 14-19 years.
Through these available choices individuals can develop and educate themselves in several areas.
In this relationship between schools and other providers of learning can be highly beneficial for
students and young people as they will be able to develop themselves along with getting their
regular academic education. Regarding widening choices and availability of extra courses for
learning of students, it is very important that they are given adequate and required guidance by
guiding professionals. This requires that guiding professionals have adequate knowledge of
available courses in terms of wide choices for students. Students needs to be informed about
different choices and courses available for them and how these courses can help them in
furthering their development and enabling them to become more employable. In this school and
staff can make significant difference to choices of young people and specifically while designing
curriculum for students (Ruipérez-Valiente and et.al., 2020). This means that when curriculum
for students is developed, schools and staff should ensure that wide choices available for students
have been well-thought so that young people are happy with choices and along with that they are
able to utilise available choices for development and learning. Along with this, students when
have widening choices for their development, it is very important that there is effective
relationship between parties involved in programs. This relationship can be effective on the basis

of communication and shared aims and objectives. Along with this, widening choices for young
people and specially for those at age 14 parents’ support is also significant. This is why parents
should also consider wide choices available for people between 14-19 years’ age and how they
can promote their further learning and development.
Developing links to industry
Developing links to industry involves developing relationships with different types of
employers who can provide required education and training to students. This is another type of
relationship in school and other provides developing links to industry is important because it
allows to students to learn through practical knowledge of different industries (English and et.al.,
2021). Students cannot get practical employment related and real world learning and
development in school and this is why developing links to industry is important for their
employment related development. Students at the age of 14 can explore different opportunities
for development and growth in employment context through learning in industry. At the age of
19 students can develop industry specific knowledge as they become closer to start their career
and employment. This is why developing link to industry is very important for their growth and
career development from initial stage of their career. This also increases employability of
students; this means they become competent in way that is required by employer. Developing
links with industry is going beyond traditional education system and introducing them with real
world challenge while they are still in school or college. Learning from professionals in industry
also help them envision what they will be required to do when they are in certain job position.
This way they can prepare themselves better for future challenges and for efficiency in their job
role. Not only this is helpful for their growth but industry links also increases opportunities
available for then, because otherwise it can be really difficult for students to network while they
are in school or college. Schools need to develop links with industry in order to reduce
unemployment in graduates. By collaborating strong theoretical knowledge and practical
knowledge schools can prepare such graduates that not only can fill skill gap in economy but can
also reduce potential unemployment because of lack of or limited skills of individuals and
prospective candidates for employment (Sandler and et.al., 2020). Developing link with industry
is also important for schools when they are working on widening choices for 14-19 years
because this link is required for vocational education and training program which is a part of
widening choices. This link between industry and schools/college also enable school and

colleges to understand their expectations regarding their prospective employer. This way schools
and colleges can ensure that students that they are educating can fulfil expectations of employers
and industries. Considering different reasons, it can be said that developing link with industry
can be highly important for overall growth and development of 14-19 years of individuals.
More specialist teaching
The success of schools nowadays ends of our education system at the large hinges on
teachers. This special teacher are the teachers who are specialise in a certain subject or take
them rotating group of students. has a negative impact on students score attendance and

3.1 Analyse teaching, learning and assessment approaches for use with 14-19 learners
In today’s world it is important that children should get proper education so that they can
develop skills and learn new things which is essential for them. Teachers should use some
approaches so that students can learn things easily. Nowadays, students are not getting proper
education or they are not learning things which is beneficial for them in future. It is important to
make plans regarding teaching, learning and assessment approaches so that students can get
proper knowledge (Bourke, 2018). It is essential to take steps regarding learning so that students
can get better facilities and they can develop necessary skills which will help them in future
growth opportunities.
Kolb learning styles

According to Kolb theory, it is important that learning styles must be used by teachers so that
students can learn or understand things easily. They should apply some theories or approaches
which is beneficial for growth of students. This theory has some stages such as, concrete
learning, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization and active experimentation. These are
some stages that can be used so that better education can be provided to students and they can
develop skills which are necessary for them. First stage of the process is concrete learning in
which the learner experiences new things or learn new skills which is helpful in getting good
opportunities in future. They will improve their existing skills. At this stage, learner should pay
more attention towards developing skills because this is the first stage and if they will not focus
then they have to face problem in future. Next step is reflective observation which means that
learner share their views by reflecting experience on personal bias (El-Maaddaw and Deneen,
2017).
After this stage next step is abstract conceptualisation which refers to learning or developing new
ideas on the basis of what they have learn. They make improvements in learning process so that
more knowledge can be gained. Further, last stage is active experimentation in which learner
implement new ideas to see effect of learning in surrounding. They want to experience new ideas
and if any change is required then they will again make concrete learning and repeat the same
process. This approach helps learner in learning new things and they can develop skills which
will help them in future growth opportunities (Hamers and et.al ., 2020).
ILT
Information learning technology is a method which is used by teachers to enhance learning skills
and also helps in enhancing knowledge within education. This is a method in which digital video
or images are used for learning activities. It is attractive method of learning by which students
develop interest in learning new things and this can be applied by teachers so that students can
enhance their knowledge and they will develop new skills to get good job opportunities in future.
In this use of VLE to run courses and teachers can make presentation of different topics (Niko
and Economides, 2018). Students learn things easily when it is attractive like, when teachers will
explain topics with help of presentation it will help in understanding things easily (King, 2017).
Bruner
Bruner theory of learning refers to a process in which learner are able to form new ideas on the
basis of their present and past knowledge. in this there is communication between learner and

teacher in which they discuss topics which will enhance knowledge of students. teachers give
topics and students have to share their views. This learning theory is essential because with the
help of this theory teachers can identify how much knowledge a student is having and according
to that they explain things so children can learn it easily. Bruner theory helps students in learning
new things and it also helps in boosting confidence. This will be beneficial for students in
improving their knowledge and they will learn many topics which will help them in future
growth (Tolsgaard, 2018).
Teachers should apply these theories to enhance knowledge of students and to develop their
skills. It helps in building confidence among students and they will not face any problem in
future. Teachers can take online test to check that which student understand things properly and
students who are not understanding. Extra classes can be taken for children who are not getting
topics. Assignments should be given to observe that students are learning things or not. It is
essential nowadays to develop skills or enhance knowledge of students because due to covid-19
students are not able to understand things properly and they will face problem in future.
Diagnostic assessment or initial it means that students should be given multiple choice questions
and there are some skills which are needed to complete the task. When lessons are explained to
students after that test should be taken so that it can be analysed how much knowledge is gained
by students and whether they need revision or not. Diagnostic assessment is the way which is
used by teachers to check learning of students by taking test and it will help in determining how
much knowledge students has gain. Diagnostic or initial assessment means to gather information
about students by taking their exam. Self – assessment can be done to build confidence as if
children will check their own performance by analysing that how much marks they have get in
exam. This will help them in boosting their confidence and they can make improvements if
required. Peer assessment refers to a process in which peers give marks to students. This saves
time of teachers and improve skills or knowledge of students. It is important that children should
make plans or strategies to enhance their knowledge and improve skills so that they will not face
any problem in future.
