Thesis Statement
The topic of my choice is the advantages of working from home during the COVID 19
pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by a flu storm and the only prevention is staying
home. The Canadian government guidelines say that workers at all workplaces will operate
remotely wherever possible. Managers will identify a versatile strategy while ensuring the
continued operations and programs of vital governments to Canadians (CUAJ, 2020).
Plan of development
While every single person is responsible to stay safe and avoid getting themselves and others
contaminated, the team leaders and managers in workplaces have a little bit more to do.
Managers shall take into account on-site work only if the job fits the essential service
requirement and operates remotely to help it can not be done because certain tasks can not be
conducted from another location than a specified workplace. A "sensitive service" means that if
affected, the health, safety, protection and economic well-being or productivity of the
Government of Canada will be harmed to a high or very high degree. Remote work provides a
range of advantages and flexibility. To several workers, this is a reality as we work during the
COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, many of us are unaccustomed to this (Lord & Saad, 2020).
We need to build a room to encourage productivity and quality to be effective when working
remotely. Take the time to build the best performance and health environments. It could involve
making sure that we have a workspace that is committed to minimal natural light disturbances
Although many public servants can remotely operate, additional equipment may be required.
Your department must evaluate separately demands for additional equipment, with an emphasis

on workers who provide essential resources and those who are expected to comply by the
employer. As always, speak with your boss about your work if you need advice or help in
following the directions of your organization for remote work.
The major advantage of working from home during this pandemic is Staying safe. Going out and
meeting people who may or may not be contaminated is like playing with your life as well as
your loved ones. Nothing is more important than staying alive and safe from this deadly disease
that is untreatable as of now. A few other advantages include flexible scheduling, at any time I
can take breaks, feel free to pause with my family while calling and eat lunch at an odd moment.
I can set my noise level up exactly what you like, from being in the front line of a snow show
somewhere unbelievably quiet. I get to wear the most comfortable pants with college hoodies, no
ironed shirts and pants with belts. Calls are being made smoother than ever. I don’t have to
struggle to find a room or contend with a chatty colleague in particular. To certain remote
workers, children and animals at home may make this difficult.
I don’t have to knock off to do the laundry every weekend, have the kids do the homework or go
full Marie Kondo on the cleaning, or an item waiting to be cooked may now, because no you,
your boss, are on time.
There are much fewer distractions and no political arguments or groupies, Saving money has
never been easier as no lifestyle expenses or cravings are being fulfilled. If you're working in
town or downtown, lunch is pricey. It's not crazy to see $15 or $4 coffee in San Francisco. At
home, by going to the shop and cooking food, you can save time. I have forgotten about the
traffic and crowds. I now don't get jammed into a snap tube that squashes new shoes or slip
behind people who are agonizingly late and completely unaware of the straight lines.

I can give loved ones more time, take care of another sick person at home, be ready for your
children early in the day, have some extra snuggles with your puppy, or just have a little quiet
time with yourself. Although it can be of great advantage to work remotely, including avoiding
regular travel and the ability to work at various times of the day, it can be difficult like this
especially for longer periods.
Conclusion
Activities which usually occur as part of our working routine that help us to retain our mental
health may not take place, the distinction between the worker and the employee may become
blurred and our colleagues may suffer physically from separation in the performance of our
work.
Also, we should stay connected, especially because it may cause us to get out of contact
physically, to buddy with peer and to communicate with our colleagues and their loved ones
through virtual means (e.g. FaceTime, Skype, Zoom).
Take time for self-care, keep in mind that self-care is not selfish; it is necessary to have enough
sleep, to eat healthily and to exercise regularly.
