Recruitment and selection process is the important part of the organization wherein
manager gives the job opportunity to the individual. It helps people to get the chance for
performing the talent in front of the management. In this report, manager contributes the own
knowledge and skills in selection process and appoints the new employees at the work place
which helps to managing the day to day operation and attain the goals and objectives. Under this
report, there are various aspects of the working with the leading people will be studied in the
context The Purple Mail Company. It is the one of the largest courier Firm in UK. The present
report covers, there are various differences between leadership and management. Different
leadership style which is used by the manager for handling the situation at the work place. There
are various alternative ways of motivation which helps employees to attain the goals and
objectives of the business. In addition to this, the team members working together which helps
to completing the task on time and fulfils the demand of the clients. Organization involves the
various aspects of monitoring the work performance of the employees. Manger of the company
prepare the plan for assessment of the development of the employees at the work place. In this
way, manager also uses the process for improving the standard level of the management and
leadership performance as well.

in sales and negotiating techniques, must posses excellent written , oral , presenting

Responsibility of sales executive - The responsibility of sales executive are generate
new business through a series of networking events, industry contacts, maintain accurate
and organised documentation on all clients to create partnership that yields success,result
and credibility. Participate in special projects , as needed , Maintain accurate and

Recruitment is a very crucial process it involve hiring right person at right place, the only
HR manager is not involved in the selection process but also a line manager also recruiting by
using appropriate skills and knowledge ((Bamberger, Biron,And Meshoulam,2014 ) ). Before
selecting a person a HR manger first scan the external environment because law, rules and
regulations change continue by the UK government they directly or indirectly impact the
recruitment and selection process. PM company while selecting at new position they first scan
the environment. The impact of legal , ethical , regulatory consideration affect in recruitment and
selecting a new staff for PM company are discussed below-
Impact of sex discriminatory act- PM company is bound to maintain the sex
discriminatory in its companies according to laws and regulation lay down under sex
discrimination act. Any person or candidate attend interview process whether it is she or
he , PM company treat equally both female and male while selecting an new person in
job position .

Short listing -A various number of candidate apply for a job in sales executive, my
responsibility is to short list the candidate according to their qualification, experience,
skills and match with the PM company requirements. (Bratton, and Gold, 2012)
Conduct test – After short listing , a notice is given to the selected candidate , my
responsibility to conduct test such as IQ test, MCQ test for selecting a best candidate in
our company .
Interviews- My responsibility to take interview and ask question to the suitable
candidate . I asked question about their knowledge , skills , qualification and experience
in previous company , family background and asked situational question . (Brody,. 2010 )

Appointment letter send to the applicant- After taking interview I am responsible to give
notice on their email who are fulfil the company requirements and attain minimum marks
in the selecting and interview process to the applicant.

I have responsible for recruiting and selecting a right candidate at right job according to
the needs of company as well as candidate requirements I have also fulfil the vacancy and
provide right candidate to the company , I have attract large number of candidate, with the large
number of candidate it becomes possible for the PM company to have a talent candidate from the
outside , which gives new blood to the company,I have also responsible for chosen a right
candidate , it becomes a competitive so I have successfully achieve this responsibility to provide
best candidate to the company, provide healthy competition in the company but there are some
disadvantages that arise while selecting recruiting the candidate this method of recruitment is
both expensive and time consuming . It cannot give guarantee that they give good and suitable
candidate . (Brody, 2010)

Every people play a different role in the company , HR manager also play a leadership
role in the PM company so it requires skills and attributes for the leadership if they play a
leadership role what are the attributes and skills are required are discussed below-
Inspire and motivates other- A leader must be a motivator and inspire the whole team and
guide, supervise them regularly to there team members also give feedback so they
motivate and try to achieve goal of the organisation. ( Burr, and Pearne, 2013.)
Displays high integrity and honesty- A good leader must be honest and transparent and
high integrity, they should always give answer to every question of their team members .
Solve problems issues-A good leader is problem solver , HR manger should recruit ,
select, trained the organisation how to solve problems and various solution to the problem
are solved by leader it requires analytical skills . ( Catano, 2013)
Communicate powerfully-A leader should have effective communication with their
employees as well as their seniors . Communication is transfer of information through

Coaching leadership style – It is very effective when the manager give their work to only
subordinate to complete their own and they find difficulty to solve such problems it is

Democratic leadership style- Democratic leadership style help the members when they
want to develop a product or service and add features in the product or also design
product and make product innovative so the democratic leadership style is a very

Share the organisation vision with each member- To motivate the staff members they
should share and provide clear cut vision to their team members so they aware of the

Communicate with your staff- Effective communication helps us to reach their objectives
and goals proper communication is must in the organisation to achieve success so you
can easily share ideas,attitude of your team members without constant communication
leads to successful discover hundreds of new ways of organising your activities . (

Make people Feel appreciated- Appreciated your team members for their good efforts and

work as properly by providing different solution to their problems and resolve conflict , adopt
changes also help to achieve organisation or firm objectives. PM company also try to satisfy their
customers as much as possible and generate revenue and sales and also minimize their
complaints and fulfil expectation and create brand image it is possible only when the members
and team leaders work as a team it gives better and large output they try to listen complaints,

a big and fast moving pace company. Under this scale job's are listed and rating is done from 1 to

Personal development plans (PDPs) – A personal development plan helps in assisting purple
mail company in getting individual development needs, and how to address them. The plan
