INTRODUCTION
It is essential for an individual to improve skills, knowledge and potential to grow in
professional career. To grow and explore in current corporate environment, it is crucial to
improve in capabilities. For this, they take help of mentor, teachers who can guide them to learn
new skills. These person have wide experience in that particular fields thus they are able to
guide learners in an efficient manner (Khateeb, 2019). This skills help individuals to differentiate
themselves from others and to get success. Mentor help to guide students to improve their
knowledge so that they can achieve predefined goals. The report concentrates on the role of
mentor or leader to shape career of an individual. It is analysed that leaders, coach play a vital
role to enhance capabilities of learner. The report discuss about the strategies to attain the
specific goals, resources required for multi agency approach along with the factors that affect
referral process. Further, the process of one to one learning, skills that have been developed
through this approach also discussed in the report. At the end it comprises the opportunities and
the improvements that need to be undertake to improve future performance.

Responsibilities is essential in everyone part of life on the basis of work is carried out.
So, in context of coach, mentor or teacher while working with students they have different
responsibilities which are discussed below-
Responsibilities of coach
The first responsibility of coach to provide path or map to students or individual so that
goals & objectives are achieved properly (Boeren, Mackie and Riddell, 2020).
Another one is to solve examine or analyse problems or issues faced by individual so
that further decisions are made effectively.
It is also duty of coach to deliver appropriate strategies in learning to both individual as

following stages. The foremost stage is organising a counselling divisions as they are useful in
identifying current requirement of the students. The second stage is linked with motivating all
the learners so they can execute their working effectively achieving set business goals and
targets. The third stage is related with execution of plans & policy framework for their students
so that issues can be easily resolved ( Honigsfeld and Dove, 2019). The last and fourth stage is
defined as mentoring in which the senior staff will monitor all the students who are performing
in effective manner in order analyse the improvement area. By analysing the process of one to
one teaching and mentoring the difficulties which are faced by the students can be easily
resolved.

students. Under this, mentor communicates with each and every learner to know the constraints
and problems they are facing. It will not only help to resolve the issues but also formulate good
relationship between learners and mentor. Learners always wish to get personalized attention
from teachers. With this both the parties will get a chance to know the each other in better
manner. It is analysed that interaction helps to resolve the conflicts between mentor and learner.

to grow in career and achieve success (McDermott, 2018).
Work based Assessment- Under this mentor assign a particular work to learners and asses

potential in order to cope up with constraints. They arrange various training programs to
improve learner's skills and potential. It will help followers to get success and grow in career.
Specialist Counselling- This strategy is consider as one of the most crucial resource of
multi agency approach. In this, mentor arranges a special counselling session for learners to
resolve their issues. With this, they are able to maintain good relationship with followers. It assist

From the above discussion it is monitored that there are a lot of strategies such as

capabilities of learners. Further, there are certain resources that are significant for the success of

5.1 Determine effectiveness of the own practices in relation to teaching and learning situations
The practising of one to one teaching programme is valuable as it helps in understanding the
individual thoughts and feelings which encouraged them to work. The tutor is having the
interaction among themselves and the desired learners. The instructor should evaluate
performances of every individual in planned ways (Rashada, A 2019). All persons execute their
working accordingly thus they are not dependent on anyone According to my opinion there
should be one to one learning and teaching is the most effective way of working that should be
practised at the workplace which results in enhancing business productivity. This is possible
because the individual can pay attention which will help him to solve the difficulty which is
faced by him. The above conversation is personalized in order to achieve better experience at the
work place.
By practising the activities of one to one learning I can easily analyse the strong and weak
factor so they can be addressed in planned ways. As the tutor is having their helping hands this is
valuable factor for enhancing my learning skill and improvement in the performance. As the
learning ability of every individual is very different so they can tailor the same in order to grab
the concept. The one to one learning is helpful to know about the tutor related to his background
and qualification. The coursework can be divided among various divisions which can be learned
in systematic manner. Thus the one to one learning is vital in order to get knowledge about
different factors related to improving knowledge. To get success, it is essential to have
predefined goals. There are an approach called SMART that is undertake in order to determine

Specific(S)- As per this factor, aims should be specific. This is essential to reduce down
the ambiguity and confusion. For this, mentor need to give due consideration to this element in to
determine effective goals. It can be related to improve the performance and attain success in
professional career. I have a goal to improve my communication skills at higher level
Measurable(M)- It refers that goals need to be measurable so that it can be evaluated on
timely basis. It helps to analyse the performance and undertake necessary improvements. To
evaluate communication skills I gave presentations, interact with different people.
Achievable(A)- This is also an important factor of smart approach. As per this goals must
be achievable with the necessary efforts of individuals. It helps to achieve predefined objectives
in an efficient manner. With my consistency I will be able to improve my communication skills.
Time bound(T)- Specific time period need to be define to achieve goals. It helps to keep
an individual motivated towards goals. This should be determine by mentors while formatting
objectives. I have determined time period of 6 months to improve this skills and continuously
monitor my performance (Riesterer, 2019).
Realistic(R)- It is one of the most crucial factor as per this goals must be realistic that can
be attain by a person. Objectives should be something that can easily achieved by efforts. Thus,
it need to be determine after due consideration. It is the responsibly of mentor to formulate such
goals that can be achieve by learners. It is easy to improve communication skills with constant
efforts. It will help me to interact with others in an efficient manner.
5.2) Identify own strengths and areas for improvement in relation to one-to-one teaching and
learning situations
Strength:
One to one practise is a aspect that is evaluating the skills of specialist in which the one to
one teaching is to develop certain strategies, approaches & materials so that there can be proper
learning and timely evaluation of the learning insights that are gained by a student. It can lead to
producing of material that can be timely evaluated (Sutton, 2020).
The process of reflection is also part of one to one teaching where the individuals are
reflecting on their own learnings and insights that they have achieved in the core process of

helps in making a complete analysis of individual to ensure timely feedback. There is
identification of the skill haps as the process of controlling and evaluation techniques are taking
place simultaneously in the organisation along with learning. I posses god communication as
well as interpersonal skill that helps me to perform assigned task in an efficient manner. In
addition, I also posses good presentation skill that assist me to perform the facts in appropriate
manner while interacting with learners (Tomak, 2019). With this method I got a chance to
interact with different individuals who posses and to deal with them effectively.
Weakness:
In case of one to one working there can be development of vocational skills but
sometimes a continuous monitoring approach might lead to strict evaluating of individuals and
there can be reduced flexibility.
Sometimes when there is a continuous watch and the process of one to one learning
might also result into loosing of the creativity and innovative skill as there is no contribution
towards something new or different by the individuals. Also it will create focus on one way
contribution as only the lecturer or in case of corporate environment only the leaders will be
making contribution and not the employees towards nay kind of work or decisions that are to be
taken in the organisation. During this interaction I analyse some of my barriers that restrict my
performance. I monitored that my analytical skills are not up to the mark thus I need to make
necessary improvements in that. In addition, I was not good enough in time management
sometimes not able to meet deadlines. Thus, after this practice I will be able to undertake
necessary improvements in order to enhance my performance.
Formal and informal evaluation: Here, formal and informal evaluation from students are
essential to analyse the performance of mentor. With this, teachers can connect with learners and
maintain good relationship with them for a longer period of time. I personally analysed the
importance of formal and informal discussion with my student as it helps me to identify my
loopholes as a teacher and make necessary improvements for future betterment.
Discussion with colleagues: It is also important to always keep in touch with peers and
colleagues as they provide appropriate feedbacks and suggestions to make necessary
improvements. There are several individuals work in an organization together and they are aware

constraints to get success in near future.
Feedbacks: Feedbacks and suggestions are important are significant to make necessary
improvements. I take recommendations from my peers and students to make further

This one to one learning approach provides me ample of opportunities to grow and
success. I came across with my loopholes that restrict my performance as an individual. That will
help me to carry out effective practices in order to improve my capabilities. Here I got a chance
to interact with various person from different backgrounds. It helps me a great opportunity to do
networking and enhance my connection. This strong networking will help me to grab a lot of
opportunities to grow in future and explore in professional career (Unruh and McKellar, 2017).
During this interaction, I got a chance to share ideas, thoughts with each other person that is
essential to improve in skills and knowledge. Further, it developed my presentation skills
effectively by rendering me an opportunity to communicate with difference person. It also boost
my confidence and enhance my personality as an individual. Thus, one to one interaction is
essential and help to develop ample of skills in an individuals such as presentation,
communication and time management skills. With this approach there is an opportunity to
develop good relationship between mentor and learner. It will help to enhance knowledge of
students that will help enhance their capabilities. This approach provides an opportunity to gain
new skills to get success. In addition, one to one interaction is also helpful for mentors and assist
them to resolve the issues of learners in an efficient manner.
