Introduction
A business's sustainability is highly dependent on effective communication. Effective
communication eliminates barriers to attaining a corporate enterprise's objective. Ineffective
communication or inability to communicate effectively may result in a firm losing money,
time, effort, opportunities and goodwill. In this report essential components of effective
communication along with elements of Business communication will be discussed. Features
of Business Communication and statistics in regard to effective communication in the
workplace are also highlighted. Along with this a general survey has been conducted in the
workplace to determine the effectiveness of Business Communications.
Essential components of effective communication
Business communication applies to all business activities within the system.
Data, facts and ideas are exchanged between business associates.
Communication in legal, management and financial sector of the firm is termed as
business communication.
Business Communication is a term that applies to communication that is related to business
activity, which is defined as supplying products and services to customers with the intent of
profiting. It is the system through which data, facts, ideas, instructions, advices, and choices
are transmitted, communicated, or shared between business associates (Alshawabkehet al.,
2018). Therefore, communication on commerce, legal, finances, administration, and
management of a commercial firm may be referred to as Business Communication.
Elements of Business Communication
Business Communication includes six fundamental elements.
Message- information sent by the sender to the receiver.
Sender- individual who transmits or passes the information.
Receiver- individual who is the recipient of the information.
Channels- medium used to pass information.
Symbols- words and actions conveyed during communication.
Feedback- Communication is ineffective without feedback.

Six fundamental parts comprise business communication. They include Message: This is the
information that the sender transmits or passes on to the third party or team of participants.
Sender: This is the individual with whom you want to communicate in order to exchange
information and knowledge. Receiver: The individual to whom the communication is
addressed is referred to as the recipient or receiver. Channels: The sender selects the medium
based on a variety of parameters to transfer information. Symbols: These are words, acts, and
signs that the sender conveys to the recipient during communication. Feedback: This occurs
when the recipient accepts the sender 's information and reacts to him or her (Camilleri,
2018).
Features of Business Communication
Business communication is different from other forms of communication.
It passes important data to requisite people.
Vocabulary used is direct and precise.

forms of communication (Ezzatiet al., 2018). It communicates critical information regarding
business to the recipient. It uses certain formats to convey message. Important dates,
locations, and times, among other things, should be stated plainly in business
communications. The vocabulary used in corporate communication must be straightforward,
precise, short, and free of ambiguity. A business communication should have a defined aim
and be well-planned in order to accomplish that aim (Schartel and Lane, 2019).
