The worse problem can be solved with the proper communication channel. Thus, communication
is considered as an important part of the organization as an organization is made up of the people
and communication help in operating the functions smoothly and help in accomplishing the
organizational goals and objectives (Tsafarakis, et. al., 2009). In this report, a secondary data
methodology is used. The report is developed by choosing the three journals and briefly
analyzed. The report examines the significance of communication in the business environment.
Importance of good communication at the workplace
In the workplace, effective communication is considered as an integral part of the success of the
business as it helps in enhancing the relationships within the company and the customers. Beside
this, it also helps in increasing the engagement of employee and overall effectiveness of the
team. Furthermore, Good communication help in building up the team, boost up the growth,
increases innovation, loyalty, and efficiency and improves productivity. Effective and efficient
communication can reduce mitigation conflicts by resolving the issues. So it is important to
adopt a good communication channel (Tripathy, 2018).
Factors Affecting Effective Communication and Their Impacts
Communication in the workplace is all about exchanging ideas and views. Emotion and
information are helpful in making communication more effective. If there is no communication

there is less possibility of existence, emergence, and execution of business.
Zhou, et. al., (2011), explains that sometimes communication in business is failed when the
people are unable or assign the different meanings of the same word. This will lead to
misunderstandings and sometimes, people are misinterpreting the inner meaning of the words.
On the other hand, Apulu, et al. (2011), discusses that emotions and feelings also affect the
meaning of the communication. Some people are having less emotional than the other people
which lead to misunderstandings. Graves & Doucet, (2017), States that the past experience of the
employees strongly determines the effective communication between the sender and receiver.
Ways to Improve Communication in a Workplace
Communicating is all about people instead of just talking. Engaging the employees at the
communication channel for better communication is considered as a powerful tool. When the
employees are engaged in their work and communication process and able to understand the
companies objectives and goals that are only possible by good communication. The company
needs to develop a positive environment which encourages good communication steam. Besides
this, the company also needs to give proper training at a regular period of time that will enhance
their trust and morale (Tripathy, 2018).
The report is based on the factors that affect communication at the workplace. Effective
communication cannot be overstated in the workplace. If the goals of the company are clear and
concise there are fewer chances of the conflicts. This will help in improving the workplace
culture and employees are able to understand the organizational environment. Effective
communication allows the management in motivating the employees and ensuring that the
company should spend more time and resources on motivating techniques.
