Answer 1:
Workplace communication is a set of skills by which people in an organisation transmit
information to other person or group through emails, voice notes, text messages and other media
(Adu-Oppong, 2014). Workplace communication is extremely important in an organisation
because it allows the people to be productive and operate effectively, which in turn is beneficial
for the companies. Workplace communication improves worker productivity and increases job
satisfaction. When there is a flow of communication from the superiors and the managers in a
company, the workers feel secure. This type of communication is referred to as downward
communication. On the contrary, workers are also content when their problems are addressed
and their feedbacks are acknowledged by their superiors. Workplace communication also has a
positive effect on employee absenteeism and turnover rates.

involves the use of language to transmit information. Non-verbal communication involves the
use of body language, eye contact, tone of voice and facial expressions and does not rely on
words (Bonaccio et al., 2016). Written communication includes emails and internal
memorandums. Formal communication is carrying out the information in a professional manner
and informal communication is a casual conversation, which can lead to gossiping and
inappropriate culture in the workplace and damage the work environment. Lateral

problems that may arise and provide feedback for the same. Both the parties should seek to
receive input from all the sources. The managers should be prepared for their roles as
organisational leaders. Encouraging two-way communication to voice their opinions makes the
worker feel empowered and motivated to do one’s job that helps achieve organisational goals
(Ramadanty & Martinus, 2016). All the above strategies can ensure effective communication in
the company.
