INTRODUCTION
Effective communication form a important part of a job environment as it is must to
remove the chances of chaos and confusion and also required to facilitate a smooth and positive
workplace environment. This essay is based on a situation faced at job environment by an
employee and the style of this essay is reflective. In order to have better reflection on experience
and feelings encountered during a situation at job environment use of Driscoll Model of
reflection is made a description of which is provided in this essay.
Main Body
Job environment is full of new experience and situation where effective communication
plays crucial role in having smooth functions and better atmosphere. Use of Driscoll Model of
reflection is made by me to provide a description and effective reflection about a situation
encountered by me at my job environment (Chen, 2019). The various stages of Driscoll model of
reflection in context of my feeling and experience at job environment is provided below:

The reflection is based on my experience get at the job environment. The motive of
returning to that experience is that it provided a better understanding about the importance of
communication at job environment. The situationist that was exactly encountered by me was
associated with lack of a leader at my workplace. I was working as a team member of a group
that was having 5 members but the issue that we were facing is that there is no leader assigned to
our teams. It had made difficult for me and my team members to have proper coordination and
balance among our activates that was mainly due to lack of communication and proper guidance.
This has created a adverse situation in our team and was also hampering the performance and
efficiency level of all group members including me. The main issues faced by me and my team
members was associated with high level of confusion and chaos among us as no guidance and
instructions are provided to us together with lack of proper bifurcations of job roles and
responsibilities. All of us, especially I started feeling pathetic and depressed regrading my
performance and efficiency thus, it become necessary to find out a solution to encounter and
overcome that situation. My Reaction because of that adverse situation where I was facing a
situation of lack of leader and proper communication was full of fear and anxiety together with
discouragement and annoyance as I was not able to perform well as per my competencies.

My feelings at that time of adverse situation that includes lack of proper guidance and
communication is associated with apathy, disappointment and full of frustration. Thus, it was
decided by me and my team members that we need some solution to overcome that adverse
situation created at our job environment. Finally, we reached out at a decisions that until we are
going to have any leader, I would perform the duties and responsibility of a leader for betterment
of team. The first thing and move made by after becoming a leader of my team was establishing
better channels for effective communication among team members. Effective communication is
necessary at every job environment in order to have better exchanging of ideas, thoughts,
information and knowledge among individual at job environment thus, facilitates better exchange
of ideas and views to fulfil and meet the intention and desires of all in a best possible manner.
Efforts were made by me to properly bifurcate jobs and responsibility of all team members in
order to ensure better coordination and balance between the various activities and task formed by
them. Beside this, to ensure better communication and interaction among my group and to
develop better bonding and high level of commitment many team bonding activities were also
conducted by me. After having an effective communication and facilitating proper guidance
about their job role and performance, it was observed by me that the overall productivity and
performance of my group was get enhanced. At after some time, the feeling of discouragement
and disappointment was get converted into a positive and healthy workplace and job
environment, encountered with feeling of joy and metal peace.
Now what
The main implication and effects lead by that adverse situation on me is associated with
development of better leadership and communication skills in me. The situation of lack of leader
for my group has created a pressures on me to make better use of my skills and competencies in
order to fulfil and encounter the gap that was lead in my performance together with overall
productivity of group. If this, situation of lack of communication and leadership was not
encountered by me at my job environment I was not able to understanding the importance and
crucial role lead by effective communication in betterment of a team. If the things were not alter
by me and the decisions of making me a leader of team was not taken in time, than we would not
become able to overcome the adverse situation and still facing the issue of lack of
communication and guidance. Thus, it has been evaluated by that adverse situation that none of a
