Introduction
The purpose of this paper is to enlighten the reader regarding the details about my personal
development plan. Personal development plan refers to the plan that will help me to analyse my
strengths and weaknesses and grow my career as well. The report is divided into three major
parts. The first part of the report is the analysis of placement or potential employer. This part
identifies the roles and responsibilities of an employer. The second part of the report comprises
of skills audit that elaborates the skillset required by a person to become a Java Developer in the
external environment. The third part includes the analysis of learning styles that helps in getting
new information from the marketplace (Komives, 2016). The report makes use of several models
like persona development plan and Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence's model so as elaborate better
understanding about the concept. More details about the report is discussed below:
Ideal Placement and Potential Employer
Potential Employer
Ideal employer is the organization that brings out the charisma and passion from a
person. An ideal employer is an organization that fulfils all the expectations of the
employees and treats them well in an organization. In the current environment, all
organizations have started working on them so as to become an ideal employer. An ideal
employer for me in the given case would Google and I would prefer taking the job of
Java Developer with the organization. Salary of one of the biggest factor that is deemed
important for the employee looking at the organization as an ideal. If the organization
converts the work and efficiency of the employees monetarily then they will get satisfied
from the company but it is not the only factor (Gilal, Jaafar, Omar, Basri, & Waqas,
2016). A person faces several challenges in an organization so the employer needs to be
good at several areas so as to become an ideal employer at workplace. The organization
having optimum years of experience with majority of satisfied employees and appropriate
goodwill is required to be an ideal employer. Good benefits and positive organizational
culture are two most important aspects apart from salary that an employee look forward
in an organization. The good benefits denote healthcare services, flexible working hours,

and other perks as well. Positive organizational culture is crucial in the technical industry
as it is required to support the work of the developer and provide them opportunity to
focus on differentiation and innovation as well (Elizalde, & Bayona, 2018). Thirdly,
transparent communication is also required by an organization to become ideal for the
employee. If communication is not efficient at workplace then the employees would not
be able to pitch in for the work conducted by them to the employer nor would they be
able to make the employer understand their emotions. Transparent communication
eliminates chaotic situations and initiates ease in business functions. Although an ideal
employer in an industry apart from software industry is some that provide monetary as
well as non monetary benefits to the employees (Peters, 2016). However, the java
developers mainly look for high salary packages and flexibility in an organization to
become an ideal employer for them. Employer reciprocating the work of the employees
through monetary terms in an adequate employer for the people in the organization.
Further, it should be noted that the company Google would be good for me because it
would provide me all the facilities that I would require in an organization. The company
has a low rate of employee turnover which means that the people come in the
organization to stay. Low employee turnover rate means that the organization is keeping
the employees happy and they do not need to look for a job in the marketplace. The
company is good in providing flexibility to the employees because they understand the
kind of work that the developer do require flexibility and a peaceful workplace
environment as well. The compensation and appraisal policy of the company is efficient
that help them to retain the employees at workplace (Soomro, et. al., 2016). Thus, it

should be noted Google will fulfil all my requirements so it is an ideal organization for
me.
Further, it should be noted that there are certain legal as well as moral obligations that are
required by employers to fulfil on the part of employee. The employer need to take of the
health of the employees and perform certain actions to upraise it in the environment.
While working for the company, the employees become devoted for the organization that
reduces their work life balance and negatively affect their health as well. So, it is morale
obligation of the employer to take care of the mental as well as physical health of the
employees. There are several dutyholders present in the OHS Act that the employers need
to perform (Wang, & Redmiles, 2019). According to the section 20 of the act, it is the
duty of the employer to ensure health and safety of the employees. The employer need to
eliminate the employees from the setup where they can face a risk of health and safety. If
the risks cannot be eliminated then the employer need to reduce it to maximum extent.
According to section 21 of the act, it is the duty of the employer is to provide safe
working environment to the employees. The employer needs to make the employees
work on tools and machineries that are thoroughly checked. The employer should provide
adequate facilities like washroom, toilets, first aid, lockers, dining areas etc. to
employees. The employees should work under the supervision of a senior employee
while working on hazardous machineries (Cruz, da Silva, & Capretz, 2015).
Government, trade unions etc. are the groups that are available to support the
environment if they are not treated fairly. The helps the person in attaining their rights
against the company and help them in getting justice as well.
My Role
It is not only the employer who possesses moral as well as legal obligation towards to
employees but it is important for the employees to fulfil their duties and responsibilities
towards in the environment in the business setting. It is my legal as well as moral
obligation to contribute my effectiveness and efficiency in the growth and productivity of
the company. I need to work for the organization to succeed by not performing any
unlawful acts or attaining secret profits in the environment (Thorpe, 2016). Being an
employee I should not indulge in any activity that can affect the reputation and
profitability of the company. I should also doing layoffs, factory closing etc. activities in

the environment. I should not manipulate any other employee of the company or should
not reveal the company’s secret to its competitors. I should provide respect and my
loyalty to the employer in the business environment and should not conspire for any
fraudulent activity in the workplace environment (Medina, & Francis, 2015).
Below mentioned are the three key ideas that I would consider with the supervisor before
start working with the company:
o Whom do I need to report my work and escalate the issues?
o What would be my future in the company in long run?
o What is the target that you want me to achieve?
Skills Audit
Employability Skills for Java Developer
Knowledge of Marketplace: A great java developer requires to have adequate information about
the marketplace and the industry in which they are present. The developer needs to have details
about the upcoming trends present in the market. As this industry is closely linked with the
technology that keeps on changing time to time. Thus, the developer needs to have skills and
tactics to know about the marketplace in order to grow and be efficient (Ozer, & Vogel, 2015).
Communication: it is one of the most important skills that required by the java developer in the
business environment. Good communication and understanding skills will help the developer to
understand the interest of the client and provide them services accordingly. Good communication
will also eliminate the confusion and complications in the business environment and increase
discipline as well. Communication between the team and the stakeholders is important.
Flexibility: a great java developer needs to flexible in working. They need to make use of
different information and sources in attaining the right objective in the market. The developer
needs to have the skills to link every line of code. The need to understand several patterns and
algorithms and follow the best practice of software development (Kakar, 2017). They need to
make use of innovative ways and techniques to satisfy the interest of the client in the business
environment. The developer also needs to be creative and efficient in the work that they provide.
They need to work with a problem solving approach.

Learning Styles
The Gardner’s Theory of multiple intelligence highlights eight theories of intelligence that are
required by the people become intellectual in the environment. In order to capture the complete
range of abilities and talents of people, this framework was developed that does not only focuses
on the intellectual capacity of the person but have several kinds of intelligence that include
musical, linguistic, interpersonal etc. On the basis of eight frameworks defined by Gardner, the
best suited intelligence for me in the given case is ‘Logical and mathematical Intelligence’
(Gardner, 2018).
Strength
The strength of this type of intelligence is that it helps in analysing the problems and solving
them using mathematical or systematic manner. This intelligence analyses the relationship and
concepts and makes judgement on the basis of logical patterns, so this intelligence is best suited
for my job and will help me achieving my strengths as well.

The characteristics of this type of intelligence is that people use it possess excellent problem
solving skills. These people enjoy thinking about the abstract ideas and like conducting research
on the topics, whose information they do not have. People with such intelligence take good
decision at crucial stages and easily solve the complex situations as well (Sanchez-Martin,
Alvarez-Gragera, Davila-Acedo, & Mellado, 2017).
Illustration
Several famous entrepreneurs like Bill Gate, Mark Zuckerberg etc. have used this theory to
succeed in the marketplace. This theory explains a logical or numeric solution to every problem.
The person does not need to follow the instincts when they can find the solution using such
reasoning.
How this learning style will help me
Lastly, it should be noted that this type of learning style would efficiently help me to work on my
personal skills and become a good professional in the business environment. This type of skill
will help me to attain information about the changes present in the environment and regularly
gather information to create new combinations for innovation as well. This will also help me to
back up my every decision with logics and reasoning. It will help in increasing the organization
of thoughts and activities for me (Shearer, & Karanian, 2017). Thus, it should be noted that with
the help of this type of learning process I would be able to eliminate my weakness and grow in
the professional environment as well. The logical smart method will help me in increasing my
efficiency by focusing on the statistics, patterns and numbers that are required in the job (Moran,
& Gardner, 2018). Thus, it should be noted that this type of learning is best suited for me and the
java developer job as well.
Conclusion
Thus, by concluding the above mentioned events, the fact should be analysed the paper represent
the details about the characteristics and features of a java developer. The paper represented
details about an ideal employer and employee in the business environment along with my
personal skills audit. The latter part evaluate the learning style with the help of which I can
increase my strengths and gain more respect in the industry and the job as well.
