This research presentation investigates the impact of workplace discrimination on employee performance, focusing on a case study at M&S. The study aims to identify causes of discrimination, evaluate its effects on employee performance, and determine different types of discrimination affecting job satisfaction. The rationale emphasizes the importance of understanding discrimination to improve workplace environments. The literature review covers themes such as the causes of discrimination, its psychological impacts (including depression and anxiety), and various forms of discrimination affecting job satisfaction. The methodology employs an interpretivism philosophy and a qualitative research method to gather and analyze data. Data interpretation reveals that employees believe discrimination negatively affects their performance and increases workplace conflicts. The study concludes that workplace discrimination negatively impacts business creativity and cohesion, emphasizing the need for policies to ensure equal treatment. The presentation offers valuable insights into workplace dynamics and the importance of addressing discrimination to enhance employee well-being and organizational effectiveness.
