Discussion:
A question which is most important for me as a practitioner of maintaining work place
Ethics and cultural diversity of the employee. However, nowadays as the corporate society is
taking steps towards modernization and adapting and adopting policy which encourage work
place ethics to be culturally appropriate for the employee. When I face a situation that creates
a dilemma as both the aspects being appropriate in their respective grounds, needs to consider
the middle path. As observed in the middle-east countries which have a work place ethics
respecting the cultural diversity of the employee. As in the standard work place culture in the
western countries the week-ends are normally on Saturday and Sunday. However in the
middle-east countries the week-ends are observed on Thursday and Friday, respecting their
religious practice. I agree with these practices by the company as the local employee take
their week-end on Thursday and Friday while other take it on Saturday and Sunday (Lozano
& Escrich, 2017).
Thus, when I face a situation like this where both are acceptable and correct
behaviour a middle route or solution is to be decided so that both the work place ethics and
the cultural diversity are maintained without any conflicts. However, as a practitioner I would
analyse the potential conflicts of ethics and diversity and a solution will be implemented
before the conflicts to arise. Thus according to me this would make the work place
comfortable for the employee as their cultural diversity is observed and respected (Trittin &
Schoeneborn, 2017).
