INTRODUCTION
Workplace safety and health is known as the development and improvement of work
culture so that health outcomes and safety of employees can be assured.
The workplace culture and safety not only affects the performance attributes of
employees as well as success goals of organisation.
Thus workplace safety greatly influenced by the workplace health promotion.
AIM AND RESEARCH QUESTIONS
The study aims at role of workplace health safety in affecting health behaviour of
employees and the performance within organisation. The research questions of the study are as
follows:
To analyse the perspective or employers on health promotion at workplace.
To evaluate the factors influencing workplace safety and health.
DATA COLLECTION
In the chosen study a total 79 participants with 10 focus groups were interviewed using
qualitative phenomenological approach. Participants were above 25 years and were related to
occupational health and safety. The data collected was analysed using decoding the information
through QSRNVivo 10.
FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
It has been found from the data analysis that workplace safety and health includes various
parameters such as occupational safety, physical activity, nutrition, mental health and
other generic health issues.
It has been analysed that healthy workers leads to better work life balance and deliver
high productivity. On the other hand unhealthy workers lack supportive network and due
to negative mental attribute their productivity is also limited.
Availability of health care services at work place and training programs to enhance safety
is crucial in eliminating the safety related issues.
It has been also analysed and claimed that since work place are meant to achieve profitability
goals they are not supposed to address health issues which are result of personal lifestyle and
behaviour of employees. However since workplace environment contributes to the factor

affecting mental and physical health the legislative and ethical perspectives also enforce the
liability of the employers to consider safety and health aspects in their policies and workplace
culture.
CONTRIBUTION OF ARTICLE TOWARDS TOPIC
The article can be considered as significant in highlighting the role of workplace safety.
The findings from the article has contributed to analyse the factors affecting safety concerns and
policies within organisation. Another important contribution of article is that it present the
perspective of both employers and employees towards the issue so that workplace health and
safety can be assured.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the study that education campaigns and effective health
strategies at work place enhances the well being of employees. It has positive impact on the
overall performance growth of the organisation. Thus it can also be concluded that education
programs and suitable policies must be incorporated by employers so that workplace safety goals
can be achieved and organisational culture can be made more productive.
