Article - findings
It has been identified from the research study that strategies of
exposure assessment is not applied in Ghana appropriately.
Therefore, the proper identification of the hazards could not be
made at the workplace. The risks at the workplace in the
country cannot be reduced as this lead to the control’s
misapplication and this contributes to the workplace health and
safety management inefficiently. The specific standards have
not been gotten by the nation on what employees and
employers should meet for ensuring the effective management
of occupational health and safety. Ghanaian workers are
unclear of what is considered as safe and unsafe.

Hence, it can be concluded that exposure assessment refers to
the strategy that helps in mitigating the risks of occupational
illness or injury. This is termed as the significant objective of
effective workplace health and safety management system. If
this process is not applied adequately then it can lead to the
ineffective H&S workplace management in the country. There
should be mandated government body for managing,
monitoring, and controlling the occupational health and safety
systems across all the industries.
