1WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES
Executive Summary
The report has surfaced on the environmental health and safety issues of the employee. In certain
adverse condition, an organization has to implement some regulations over the employees, which
are creating the burden for them. In this case scenario, Amazing Suppliers wants more products
as their customers are increasing day by day and the enhancement of the company will be
associated with the range of production. 24 working hours for employees is not the solution to
increase the production level, rather the introduction of new shift timings and fewer hours of
works and medical check-up will be there for the sustainability of the company in the business
market. The higher value in business and the level of production rate is the ultimate need for an
organization but using valuable tools and technologies, an organization can provide the better
working condition to employees and thus is the most important aspect for the growing business
culture.

3WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES
Introduction
Amazing suppliers are the online shop and they have a variety of products in their
warehouse. Most of the products are unique and it is the reason customer love to use their portal
and the company has always a huge rush. In this situation for the better development in business,
the management has come up with a decision that in some areas warehouse workers will
continue their job for 24 hours. The decision is completely effective and relevant as per the
prospect of the company to reach the level of people expected and produce more products that
can fulfill the customer needs. However, the problem comes in between this when the matter has
come up with the issues over employees as they have some health issues and organization has to
take care after this. The warehouse has diverse ranges and administration staff has also had to do
12 hours shift for the better productivity of the company.
The argumentative concern for the organization is now to maintain their productivity and
to provide the employees’ health security is the prime issue in this context. Efficient workers are
not willing to do their work for 24 hours. The workers are not enough capacity to deliver the
same productivity throughout the 24 hours. This is the process where the shift changes and
better productivity will be expected from the employees. So the scheduling issue is the first
problem that has been faced by employees. The next challenge that faced by employees is the
work-life balance (Reavley et al. 2014). This is the most important aspect of emotional and
physical problems are attached to this issue. There are certain monetary issues like increment,
profits, extra benefits, bonus all these are related with the employees' satisfaction and if the
organization does not provide all these things then these are becoming challenges for employees.
There are numerous shifts prevailed in the different workplace and all these shifts have
impacted over employees. The major issue is to choose the classical working time which is very
important and relevant in this context. Night shift sometimes becomes very strenuous for the
employees as provide the same level of delivery is not possible for the employees when they are
working at night shift. Sometimes workplace does not provide the expected interruption on
Sundays or any off days, this is also a problematic issue for the employees (Donham and Thelin
2016). Null shifts or the long shifts are the concern issue for employees as they get less amount

of week offs on that time so their mental condition has distracted over that time and impacted
over the dissatisfaction over the job.
Issues and Problems
The issues that have already discussed are the major concern for the employees as the
company wants to raise their production level and for that reason, the organization has put extra
pressure on their employees. Scheduling the proper time for the work is the prime thinking
that needs to be imposed by the organization as different problems have come for that reason.
Lack of communication, a mismatch in mindset and unrest timing of working are the basic
problem for this issue. Work-life maintains is another issue which has to maintain the
organization so that the employee can get enough to time to spend with their family and friends
(Zohar 2014). 7 to 8-hour working condition is the best providence that an organization can
deliver to their employees but in case of Amazing suppliers, where more production is needed
and for that reason employees’ engagement is the most important aspect for the development of
the company (Steel 2015). The revised working hour is another problem of employees as the
24-hour job is not legitimate for their health and safety. The different disease may attack
employees due to that night duty and irregular shifts or 24 hours job roles (Mowday, Porter and
Steers 2013). The increase of monetary section may be a reason for what employees have the
keen interest in doing the 24-hour job but on the other hand, they are losing their period of
working span. 12-hour shifts are also mistaken prone in some situation as the involvement that
needed from the employee is not delivered for that time. So the impact on the performance is the
key problem and concern for the company (Cummings and Worley 2014). The amount of labor
force always determine the workplace shift timing, if organization has less workforce then it is
mandatory for the organization to put extra pressure on their employees but if human resource
team of the company is much more efficient then it is quite clear more engagement of job
seeking people can be recruited on that organization, and for that reason work pressure must
diminish by implementing quite a few shifts in workplace.
Implementation of tools and recommended discussion
There are certain methodical operations and employees' involvement is needed for the
betterment of production as well as for the sustainable development of the organization. In

Amazing suppliers, the need of product is the crucial matter as a huge amount of people love
their product and wants to buy their products (Ashkenas et al. 2015). In such situation employees
have to work more time for the better production rate. 24 hour at the workplace is not the desired
outcome for an employee thus they want mature work timing to form the company. Involvement
in the process and implementation of innovative tools is the correct way to mitigate the work
pressure (Vetter et al. 2015). Equipment, those are secure and safe can be used in the workplace,
these tools can reduce manpower, provide more delivery options and overall these are the tools
that also provide more productivity in less time and employees have to involve less hour in duty.
Placement or the storage of the machine is important as the number of goods can be delivered
from the machine from one at a time is more than enough for a whole day labor works (Benn,
Dunphy and Griffiths 2014). This is the innovation that may be implemented in the workplace so
that better production can be maintained. Tools like Multi-latency tests, Epworth sleepiness
scale, the cognitive testing method all these are the measuring tool that can ensure the people
efforts and provide better productiveness.
Solution to the anticipated challenges
Anticipated challenges are needed to be mitigated for the sustainable business
progression. Employees are the concerning aspect of an organization and their safety and
security is the concern issue that can evaluate the employees' satisfaction with the organization.
In case of Amazing Suppliers, the organization has to protect their employees so that safety and
security have prevailed. On the other hand, production level needed to be enhanced so that
company can sustain their business. A revised form of shift timing is the prime issue for the
employees. There are three shifts are needed for the organization (Smither, Houston and
McIntire 2016). On the other hand, too much work creates a strenuous job for the employees and
the effective work culture is not delivered in a fruitful way. In office duty hours, innovative
changes in tool must ensure the less work for the employees and by the use of tools, more
production can happen (Wagner et al. 2016). More money and facility will be provided to the
workers who work at night. Monetary acceleration is the key aspect that will introduce by the
organization so that these people have to deliver their best work at night and they have not
worked any other shifts. Product diversification is more important than the number of similar
products. In that case, the balanced business growth will increase the product variability is

sustained in the organization. The errors and accidents also happened in 24-hour time span work
as these are the scenario when people are getting tired and there are chances of an accident
(Luthans, Luthans and Luthans 2015). So a fixed span of duty hour is the basic criteria that an
employee wants and 24 hours of doing work for the better production of the organization, is not
justified. Workplace management is the key aspect of the organization and they have to manage
the employees for their better security and health (Ismail 2014). Technological use must be
implemented in that case so that production level will enrich whatever the labor engagement was
there.
Planning of new working hour
Office timing should be divided in that case. There must be three shifts needed to
introduce by the company so that employees get enough opportunity to spend their time with
their family and the time they are in the office will be productive enough so that company can
get more production for them. The equation is very simple and so that regular shifts and
controlled amount of pressure can be delivered from an organization (Hung et al. 2016). There is
non-standard working hour also persisted in the workplace like on-call work, compressed week,
variable and flexible work timing, part-time work, curtail of prolonged duty periods, weekend
works and split work all these are important for the planning of working hours. These working
hours need to plan as the productive strategies and the outcome of those strategies are
incorporate with those facts (Li et al. 2017). A new dimension in the workplace is the essential
fact that should be implemented in the working environment. Dimensions are like segmentation
of more departments and divide work for each department is the crucial part of the planning. The
planning needs to be transparent so that working segmentations are equal for sectors. The
additional works are not permuted with that work and only the production department is the
major concern for the company (Zhan et al. 2017). In case of Amazing suppliers, as their
production level needs to be increased for leveling the customer satisfaction, thus their product
procedure needs to be furnished in an effective manner. This is the reason more engagement of
employees are needed and with this kind of need the manufacturer source, quality and range need
to be enhanced. The major factor of the revising the time comes on that section when employees
have to work less as the department has segregated and company can want some quality
deliverance from them. The shift timing also gets shortened and for this reason, employees can

focus on their work and also their prime concern is the product development or the increasing
number of products. Working hours are in a legitimate way and that will experience better duty
hours for the employees (Bennett, Segerberg and Walker 2014). Moreover, there are some
facilities like off day, shift change, balancing the work condition and extra money of increment
in some pick season is the effective changes that should be implemented in the workplace for the
sustainable condition for the employee. Promotional aspect for the employees will be introduced
by the organization so that employees, who have delivered their cent percent in the workplace to
deliver more production for leveling the need of the customers, must be appreciated by that
promotional opportunity (Blyton et al. 2017). The new working condition and application of
those processes are important as the new time schedule is mending for the employees.
Recommendation of practical implementation
Shift arrangement is a kind of operation that monitored by the parent organization and the
allocated timing is suitable for an employee. This is a daily work basis job and for that reason,
there are some definite responsibilities are there for the employees. The rotational shift needs to
be recommended in the organization. In case of Amazing Supplier, the time has come when
better production rate is needed from the company and for that reason; the company has
implemented the rule of working 24 hours. But this is not possible for an employee for work so
long, for that reason a fresh group of additional people is needed for that shift. Certain shift
schedules can unsettle the circadian regularity, and may have adversative physiological,
emotional and public impact on the employees, which might damage the employees' enactment
as well as efficacy, this the reason a good amount of food will be delivered from the company to
their employees when they are working on daily night basis, as this is the most strenuous job to
deliver the same rate of productivity at night. Another recommendation unduly extended shift
change and provide a legitimate rotation shift for employees are the concern issue of the
organization. Maintaining good quality and the major environmental condition is the major fact
that provides a healthier working condition to other employees. Length of the working hour is
also important so unfit or sick employees should have certain medical plan and company will
pay for that, which signifies the priorities of the employee to the company. In case of Amazing
Suppliers are scenario is very tricky and risky as well, the company need more production but
the phase or time is not so much, that is the reason more employees need to be involved in that

project so that production rate must not change but the short time shift system must be
introduced. In case of such long-term office hours when employees have to do extra time for the
benefit of the company, then there must be a physical team will be present in the company so
that any undesirable situation can be controlled. Staying awake at night and sleep at the day is
the not proper physiological balancing that a human needs, this is the wrong way of leading life
but in that case of competing with other companies there are certain trouble situation may come
when employees have to do such thing, which needed to be restricted in a proper manner so that
production level is not getting hampered.
Conclusion
Therefore from the above discussion and finding, it can be concluded that level of
production and the employees work rate is one of the imbalanced organizational issues that can
be maintained or regulated by the organization only and for that reason the these are the
following steps that need to be amended for the sustainable condition of the company as well as
the employees. The shift timing and the work pressure are the two most important variables and
both these aspects are important for the development of the company. In case of Amazing
Suppliers the rate of production needs to be high and for that reason, the company has
implemented a rule of working 24 hours for the employees but this is not relevant at all. Those
recommendations need to be followed to maintain a strong employee base and if these activities
are not accelerated in a proper way then the production of the company will not level as per the
need of the customers. Employees safety and security is the most important aspect for the
company and for this reason they need to enough protective to their customers and employees so
that the warmth can be filled by them also. Workplace environment and security of employees is
the concern matter that needs to be monitoring by the organization in case of extra or rapid
production.
