WORKPLACE INJURY
Part 1
Self-action regarding managing the claim
My first responsibility would be to assess the reality of the compensatory claim
regarding left arm injury. This would be a through the means of counselling session. In this, I
would make effective use of Data Protection Act (1998) for maintaining the privacy of the
personal belongings of clients like Georgia (Street & Lacey, 2015). As she states that she
cannot remember the exact cause of the injury, my responsibility would be not to pressurize
her. I would contact her employer regarding verification of the employer report form. Here, I
would also take the assistance of the statutory bodies of law for mitigating the arguments
regarding repetitive movements. This assistance would prove beneficial in terms of
examining the need for further investigation (Hughes et al., 2017). I would deeply study
Georgia’s record of leave applications for determining the genuineness of her claim. I think
doctor’s prescription is a legal document, which would suffice the acceptance of her claim.
However, meeting and conference with the board panel would help me to avert any illegal
instances.
Decision regarding returning to the work plan
Meetings and conferences with the board panel would be effective in enhancing the
decisions regarding permitting Georgia to return to work. Documents such as doctor’s
prescription and her records would be the proofs of her character. Investigating the matter
would enable me to decide whether to permit Georgia to return to work. I would take special
care to see that Georgia is involved in the meeting. This would make her feel that her
opinions are valued (Cohn & Wardlaw, 2016). I would involve the doctor in the meeting, so
that all of the personnel can be informed about the intensity of Georgia’s case. This would

make the employer aware of the kind of works, which Georgia would be comfortable in
