HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 3
Claim
Management skills play a significant role in developing healthy working relationships
with the members so that they can prioritise the tasks appropriately. Efficient management
skills allow the management in resolving workplace conflict, quick decision making,
effective communication with the individual employee and motivate them to perform at their
best.
Evidence
Mowday et al., (1982) has stated that the relative strength of an individual's
identification with and involvement in a particular organisation and can be characterised by
a strong belief in and acceptance of the organisation's goals and values, willingness to exert
considerable effort on behalf of the organisation and a strong desire to maintain membership
of the organisation”.
The example of “Eastman Chemical Company” in Canada can be used here to
determine the role of mangement in administrating employee performance. The organisation
always values the demands of employees and listen to them. They believe in engaging the
employees in teamwork because remarkable things happen when they work together. It is
also the source of employee satisfaction, and Eastman Chemical Company received the
Employees' Choice Award in 2015 as ‘One of the best places to work' (Eastman, 2019).
Counterargument & rebuttal
As a working employee within the management, I have experienced that my team
members have become more efficient, and they are capable of decision making than the other
teams in the office. I always interact with them as a team member and sometimes ask them
questions to resolve any issue so that they can recognise their importance in the company.
However, Mitchell et al., (2015) have mentioned that proper supervision is necessary
even after giving freedom of decision making to the employees. Otherwise, the possibilities
of errors are high due to the lack of efficiency and analytical skills, which may lead the
organisation towards serious issues.
Reassertion of claim
It is observed in the above critical analysis, that management skills play a vital role in
employees’ skill development and achieving the business goals of an organisation. Only an

efficient management can motivate employees and ensure both their satisfaction and
improvement of that company.
