This assignment identifies and discusses two real-world examples of nudging in a workplace setting: Massachusetts General Hospital's use of a traffic light system to promote healthier food choices in its cafeteria, and Rijkswaterstaat's creation of a flex lounge to address employee complaints about limited workspace. The analysis explores whether these nudges primarily benefit the employee, the company, or both. The hospital's initiative improved employee health and reduced healthcare costs for the company, while also increasing sales of healthier food options. The flex lounge at Rijkswaterstaat reduced the need for a larger office space, saving the company money while providing employees with a more comfortable and productive work environment. Both examples demonstrate win-win scenarios where nudging leads to positive outcomes for both the organization and its employees.
