workplace diversity and equality and how by promoting it they can improve their image in t
market this topic is being selected. This is one of the main effectiveness of this topic that it h
wider scope as it can be beneficial at academic and commercial level. Managing equality is
important for all people and institutes whether they are organization, school and families. So
by discussing ways of diversity management, this study can help boost confidence of
employees.
Theme 1: Effects of workplace discrimination on performance of employees
Workplace discrimination or unfair and unequal treatment at workplace with employe
have several negative effects on performance of employees. According to the BAI,
GHANBARPOUR and Soleymani, (2019) When employers discriminate their employees
especially on the basis of gender then it reduces morale and de-motivate employees. It affec
their concentration ability on work which increases errors and become reason of poor quality
products. De-motivated employees are less likely to stay with the company which increases
staff turnover rate and affect image of the company.
Theme 2: Current practices of Sainsbury’s for promotion of diversity at workplace
It is stated that Sainsbury’s follows all rules and acts and implement appropriate polici
regarding discrimination. As per the Tamzid and Parves, (2017) anti discrimination act, it
allows all of their employees to treat with each others in a fair and effective manner. It is als
found that it provides incentives and rewards scheme for motivating them and making them
able to adapt changes and do not resist to workplace diversity and equality at workplace. Th
both strategies and current practices allow Sainsbury’s to promote diversity and employ
different cultures of people without resistance.

motivated employees focus on their work which reduces errors and provide them opportunit

Theme 4: Strategies for decreasing workplace discrimination and promoting
It is stated that equality have several positive effects so, Sainsbury’s require adopting some
ways of promoting it. One of the best strategies is implementation of equality and diversity
policy at workplace. By implementing this policy, employers can make sure that all employe
are following rules and are not discriminating employees on the basis of gender, age and
disability. In addition, company can provide diversity and inclusion training to employees an
make them aware about reasons of promoting it. It can help companies in reducing resistanc
employees in equality promotion at workplace Bogićević-Milikić, (2019) .

Research type: Qualitative and quantitative are 2 types of research. When
researcher gather information in non numerical form then it is known as
qualitative and information gathered in numerical form is known as
quantitative. For this study, researcher will use qualitative research.
Research approaches: Inductive and deductive are 2 research approaches
which consist of steps of broad assumptions of details method of data
collection and analysis. In inductive approach, researcher generates brand
new theory and in deductive it develops an existing theory and collects
information. Inductive approach will be used for this study.
Research philosophies: It can be defined as a belief about methods in which
data are being collected such as: interpretivism and positivism. Positivism
believes that society is the main factor which shapes human behaviors. In
interpretivism, researcher focuses on observing human by taking their
interest into study and gather information. Interpretivism will be used in this
study.
Data collection: Primary and secondary data collection are main 2 methods.
When researcher collects all new data then it is known primary data and all
second hand data are known as secondary data. Researcher will make use of
both as for secondary, he uses literature and internet and for primary he will

Data analysis: Selection of data analysis tools depend upon the main
research type as type of research is qualitative then researcher uses
qualitative data analysis tools. For quantitative they use quantitative data
analysis tools for analyzing all gathered data effective. Qualitative data
analysis tools will be used for this study.
Sampling: A process of selecting people or target as a participants is
known as sampling. In random sampling, all members are being selected
randomly and in non random, scholar target people non-randomly. Random
sampling will be used and 30 employees of Sainsbury’s will be selected as a
sample.
