INTRODUCTION
Sustainability is a business strategy which helps the organisation to attain the inherent
goals and objectives effectively (Chams, and García-Blandón, 2019). The company can improve
their overall performance by using the right plan and strategies. This report aims to analyse about
effectiveness of the sustainability policy and system development. On the other hand, in this
report there will be brief evaluation about the environmental sustainability policy. Along with
that, there will be discussion about different objectives like training and programs, planning and
developing safety etc. This will help to know whether the sustainability plan is effective or not.
For further instance, there will be brief discussion about the policy that it helps the employees in
an effective manner.
MAIN BODY
Progress towards established targets.
Opera House Electricity usage – In 2014 the opera house electricity usage was hopping
75% (Neutzling, and et.al 2018). From, there the opera house has made some big changes
to minimize the electricity usage. In 2017, the company has upgraded their sea water
cooling system which reduces the energy consumption by 9%. As a progress to this, in
that year they had build the new control management system to reduce the consumption
by 10%. In current scenario the company has reduce the usage by 19% which assures that
they had made some significant improvements.
Opera House water Usage – In the new sustainability plan and strategy the opera house
has reduced their water wastage. They now only use 15% of water facilities to manage
the operations.
Opera house gas Usage – The new sustainability plan helps the opera house to minimize
their gas usage. It helps in betterment for the environment their usage reduced to now
10%.
Opera House annual resource usage – Under the new era the opera house is using more
than 85% of the energy consumption usage which is equivalent to 2500 households.

There are different trends that may require remedial action. The sustainability plan needs
to succeed at different aspects (Atanda, 2019). There are various shortfalls which is described
below:
Data accessibility by the stakeholders The organisation must ensure that the
stakeholders are indulged more while implementing different plans and strategies. There are
different ways to provide to stakeholders access to more data.
The opera house must involves its stakeholders in the real time decision making process.
On the other hand they had develop an effective communication with the stakeholders.
The opera house must involve various representatives and stakeholders when developing
the effective plan of sustainability.
Partnership and government support – There are different companies in the market. In
order to maintain a healthy partnership with the government. The organisation needs to fulfil
various government policies and regulations.
A sustainability plan helps the organisation to improve its overall performance in the

minimize the waste with the help of different strategies and sustainable policies. In 2016 they
had introduced a new waste management program. This help them to boost their waste recycle
rate and creates a better environment. The organisation has banned the use of the recyclable
items like plastic which is harmful for the environment.
To improve the communication and management of sustainability of the opera house.
Management support the sustainability plan fully – The opera house management
support their sustainable plan effectively. This results in improving the overall
performance of the organisation. They achieve their goals and objectives effectively in
the market.
