Introduction
The assessment is about the discussion of the maintenance of the sustainability of the
workplace. The discussion revolves around mentioning some of the perspectives which
are required for the correction of the assignment. The task is divided into 3
sections.Task 1 will be highlighting the resource usage procedure and information
collection procedure.Task 2 will be highlighting the planning, implementing and
monitoring the improvements which were highlighted in Task 1. Task 3 will be
highlighting the report outcomes which are searched and implemented in Task 1 and 2.
The assessment will also make use of graphic presentation for the better understanding
of the candidate. Chosen organization for the assessment is Ocado Retail- an online
supermarket.

Assessment 1
Ocado is online supermarket store which provides all kind of products starting from
groceries to personal home care. Ocado is a joint venture between Ocado Group and
Mark and Spencer group.Apart from the groceries, Ocado serves in other brands as
well. Ocado serves iin Fetch, an online pet store and Ocado Zoom which is an one-
hours grocery agency (Ocadogroup. 2017).
Ocado covers 15% of the total UK market. There are millions of satisfied customers with
Ocado.The company is dedicated in providing all types of products with high-quality in
order to satisfy the customers (Ocadogroup. 2017).
Fetch is an online pet store which is monitored and owned by the Ocado Group. The
company is involved in providing pet foods and medicines which are required by the pet
lovers. All types of food items and medicines and other accessories which are needed
by the pet is made accessible in Fetch (Ocadogroup. 2017).
Ocado Zoom is a one-hour online grocery. This is the special service which is launched
by the Ocado. The company here guarantees to deliver the products and services to the
customer in an hour (Ocadogroup. 2017).

implementation of the resources that are available with Ocado. For the wrapping

wrapping, eco-friendly wrappers should be used for the packaging. This way the
environment will be preserved as well. There should be a proper decomposition
centre where the companies can decompose their waste produced in the
manufacturing of the products.This way the environment will not get
compromised. As the resources are getting scarce, Ocado and the other
companies in the market should make use of the limited resources and produce
best output from them.Limited foods products according to the demand among
the people should be reduced. This will reduce the excess production of the
goods and services.

From the above table, it is justified that plastics, bakery products, meat products, deli
departments, produce products and glass and metal products generates 54%, 36%,
12%, 17%, 49% and17% respectively.

Ocado is a pure online operating grocery store which provides goods and services to the
customer online.The main mission of Ocado is to provide high quality products to the
consumer in the market (Ocadogroup, 2017).
The company also provides high quality products to the retailers at low cost to maintain the
smooth cycle of supply of goods and services.
The company is also involved in providing best technical methods to ease the production
process within the market.
Description of purchasing procedures
Ocado tries to provide their goods and services to the suppliers. This way Ocado is saving
money for investing in other techniques like installation of new media instruments in the
market.
The company has also maintained a good number of suppliers which provides products to
the customer on time (Ocadogroup, 2017).

Evaluation of purchasing strategies and procedures for sustainability
Ocado maintains a good and sustainable purchasing procedure in order to maintain their
survival in the market.Being an only online store, the company has maintained a good
number of suppliers which delivers the goods and services on time to the customer.
Providing high-quality of goods and services to the customers on time is a boon to the
company in order to maintain the sustainability in the environment.
Also, the company takes online payment. The online payments enable the cashless
transactions. The transaction channel is safe and is also secure from threats and hacking
(Ocadogroup, 2017).
