14. What are the resource areas you can do a ‘Sustainability Analysis’ on?
There are various areas where resources have been allocated and utilized properly to conduct
a sustainability analysis on manufacturing, distribution and disposing of packaging and product
within Sensis, Australia. Sensis is one of the largest and most effective marketing services
company that can involve the customers with the business and deliver better outcomes through
marketing and promotion by digital consumer business. The sustainability analysis on
manufacturing has helped the company to start the digital consumer business.
The distribution is managed with the use of search engine marketing techniques and
optimization services to ensure that the services are delivered properly to the consumers (Blok et
al. 2015). The mapping solutions have enhanced the efficiency of the digital advertising agency
and allowed for publishing print directories including Yellow and White pages. The Yellow Pages
and White Pages consist of a carbon neutral certification and has been introduced by the Government of
Australia, which shows that the services are environmentally sustainable. E-file is used instead of paper
documents, and ink cartridges have been refilled and reused. The resizing of paper layout has been done to
manage most of the words on one page (Fien and Winfree 2014).

awarded platinum, and the company wants to succeed in the long run by saving a lot of money in
business through these sustainable practices (Marcus, MacDonald and Sulsky 2015).
Based on the responses provided by Will Day, Sustainability advisor of PwC,
environmental pollution and innovation have brought drastic changes in human life as well on
the environment. Implementing a sustainability policy can help in creating value, develop a
better blueprint for managing business operations and allow individuals to adapt to the new
environment by maintaining environment-friendly practices, furthermore reduce harmful
environmental impact. Will also stated that it could not only benefit the stakeholders but would
also balance the needs of business with the environmental needs (Norton, Zacher and Ashkanasy
2014). PwC has been set up in a new location, i.e., 7 More London and maintained sustainability
through better innovation and environmental design. There had been fewer carbon emissions and
creation of value for money workplace through 58 percent less carbon footprint and A rating for
enhanced energy performance.

the company is to involve the customers with businesses and manage digital consumer services,
enable search engine marketing and manage delivery of website products and services through
data and mapping solutions. The industry within which it operates is the marketing services
industry and has been considered as one of the largest print directory publisher including yellow
pages and White Pages (Saundry and Wibberley 2014).

explaining achievements and key action outcomes
The National carbon offset standard (NSCO) certification has been enabled at Sensis to
develop requirements for preventing carbon emissions and become carbon neutral. A transparent
framework is maintained through support by international standards based on Australia for
managing certification under the Carbon neutral program. By enabling NSCO certification,
Sensis minimised environmental impacts by supporting smaller organisations and by investing
local communities. Due to this, the Yellow and White Pages have carbon neutral certification as
well provided by the Australian Government (Blok et al. 2015).

The company implemented efficient manufacturing technologies in India for embracing
environment-friendly practices and maintained sustainability. The Environmental protection Act
has regulated the environmental factors by controlling air, water pollution, management of soil
quality and wastes to ensure that the companies in India can become sustainably successful.
14. What targets have they achieved?
A lot of costs has been saved along with the production of directories with the
certification of Forest Stewardship Council to purchase paper that fulfills the quality standards.
As a part of the Australian Packaging Covenant, the packaging and freight have been managed
properly to ensure recycling process and more energy efficiency. The carbon footprints are
reduced due to the presence of carbon neutral certification on the Yellow and White pages books

15. How do they communicate the sustainability plan and goals to staff and get them
involved?
The sustainability plans are communicated by enabling training sessions where
employees can be present to discuss the plans and implement those. Cooperation of awareness is
essential for determining the opinions of employees and then make a decision while
implementing a sustainability plan.
The regulatory requirements such as cleanliness maintained within the workplace, use of
green technologies and recycling of wastes and packaging processes must be informed to the
workers before managing the sustainability plan (Saundry and Wibberley 2014).
Involvement in EMS process
The EMS process would help hem to gain knowledge about managing the impacts of
organisational functions on the environment and create a plan for implementing measures to
protect the environment. This would reduce global warming effects and create a good balance
between nature and ecosystem where we live in (Sensis.com.au 2017).
