INTRODUCTION
Transformative workplace refers organization that seeks to change the system by
which it operates and make employees able by which they can perform their functions in
adverse and changing situations (Kwon, Han and Nicolaides, 2020). This study is going to
discuss some advantages of transformative workplace and ways in which it can make
beneficial to employees and employers as well. Companies can transform their
workplace by number of strategies and motivation is one of them. Motivation to
employees is one of the main key of success as it can encourage employees towards
accomplishing goals and improving performance. It will further discuss some important
elements of research methodology such as: data collection, analysis and others.

Concept of transformative workplace
Erskine and Bilimoria, (2019) Transformative workplace refers an organization where
employees can work with innovative and creative ways. Employers transform workplace
in order to accommodate different kinds of work and technology. It encourages
employees for improving their performance and accomplishing goals in an effective and
timely manner. Overall, it can be said that transformative workplace make companies
able in becoming competitive.
Harrison, R.T. and Leitch, C.M., 2019) stated that transformation refers dramatic change in
appearance or systems by which employees can help their employees in accomplishing
goals. There are different types of transformations such as: digital transformation,
cultural, information system and others. Motivated employees bring cultural and digital
transformation as they focus on trying new ways of performing functions that lead
changes at workplace and improve productivity.
Impacts of transformative workplace, lead by motivation on overall performance of
employees.
As per the view of Nugroho and et.al., (2020) transformative workplace has
number of advantages and it has great positive impacts on performance of employees.
Employees become productive when they work at transformative workplace as it makes
them innovative. They are being encouraged for working in creative and innovative
ways. It makes them flexible and it is found that employees at transformative workplace
are more likely to adapt changes and work in adverse situations.
Howladar, Rahman and Jewel, (2018) contradicted and said that when motivated
employees work at transformative workplace then it makes them feel refreshed. They
try better and easier ways of performing functions that improves their productivity and
performance. Improved performance boosts their confidence. They are more likely to
stay with business and this staff retention improve brand image of company. So, on this
basis, it can clearly be said that motivation plays a vital role and transformative
workplace improve overall performance of companies.
Roles of motivation in transforming workplace
According to the Mohammad and et.al., (2019) motivation plays a vital role in
transforming workplace as it changes the way in which employees perform. When
employees are being motivated as per their needs then it makes them feel valued. They
are more likely to improve their performance. There are number of companies who
motivate their employees on the basis of their performance and unique ways of
performing functions. So, on this basis, employees strive hard for accomplishing goals
and they bring innovative ideas and this innovation transforms workplace.

Al Harbi, Alarifi and Mosbah, (2019) argued and said that motivation has direct
impacts on employees’ productivity. Workers who are excited and motivated for their
jobs carry out their roles as well as responsibilities to the best of their ability. It helps
employers in attracting skilled employees and increasing staff retention rate. When
motivated employees strive hard and work in a team then they cooperate and help each
others in accomplishing goals. It increases their knowledge and skills. It leads positive
competition at workplace and competition change workplace that leads productivity.

Research strategy: Qualitative and quantitative are 2 research strategies. Qualitative
represents non-numerical data and quantitative refers numerical data. For this study,
qualitative research will be conducted for knowing about role of motivation in transforming
workplace with textual or non-numerical form of data.
Approaches: Inductive and deductive are 2 research approaches that consist of steps of broad
assumptions on data collection and analysis (Woiceshyn and Daellenbach, 2018). For this study,
inductive approach will be used because research study is qualitative and inductive ahs
suitability with this strategy.
Research philosophy: Interpretivism and positivism are 2 philosophies. Interpretivism
believes that society shape behaviors of people and positivism think just opposite of
interpretivism. For this research study, interpretivism will be used as it is associated with
inductive approach and qualitative research.

Data collection: Primary and secondary are 2 types of data collection. Primary refers first
hand data and secondary refers second hand data (Apanasevic, 2018). For this study,
researcher will gather both primary and secondary by conducting questionnaire and literature
as well.
Sampling: A process by which participants, for collecting primary data, are being selected is
known as sampling. Random and non-random are 2 main types of sampling and for this study,
random will be selected for promoting diversity.
Data analysis: Qualitative and quantitative are 2 data analysis tools. Qualitative data analysis
tool is being used when researcher collect data in the form of non-numerical. Quantitative is
being used for analyzing quantitative. As this study is qualitative so, thematic analysis as
qualitative will be used for this study.
