sites. It is necessary to take proper care of the World heritage sites as they are cultural landmarks

and are attracts various tourists. The enhance the universal value in present and must be
preserved for future generations as well. World heritage sites provides habitats to various iconic
species and also contribute to stunning landscapes. There are regular changes in the world in
today’s time. The modern society must understand the importance and value of these heritage
sites and make efforts to keep them safe. It is one of the interesting topic as it enhances the value
of nation and are important part of the history. In this essay there is discussion related to the
history and background of the World heritage sites. The process of selecting the sites is also
important part of this essay. There are certain reasons behind preserving the sites and they are
also mentioned in the essay. There is critical evaluation in the essay and the negative impact of
these sites on tourism sector is also mentioned.

cultural value of their past time. The architectural procedures and designs of these heritage sites
were developed in creative and attractive manner so that it can remain a valuable for longer
period of time. UNESCO which is named as United Nations educational, scientific and cultural
organisation is meant to preserve identify and protect this world Heritage sites. One of the
treaties which is named as the convention concerning the protection of world cultural and natural
heritage which was undertaken by UNESCO in 1972 (Seyfi, Michael Hall and Fagnoni, 2019).
They focus on preserving heritage site so that upcoming generations can analyse the architectural
values of ancient time which was is very unique and meaningful. Natural, mixed and cultural are
majorly three types of sites which can be seen by people nowadays. Ancient paintings,
