INTRODUCTION
History and culture are two major dimensions of an economy which provide details about
the past. In the history and culture related practices helps a country to discover different
monuments and historical objects. In order to save the historical sites and monuments of United
Kingdom, it is major responsibility of government to focus on various strategies and planning
framework. The monuments are crucial part of history, which play an important role in
development of tourism industry. In this project in depth understanding of heritage sites and
monuments is taken into consideration to better develop its knowledge. This project includes the
example of San Miguel which is a colonial era city in Mexico. The heritage site is situated in
Mexico's central highlands, the site is known for its beautiful arts scene and cultural festivals.

In the whole world, there are beautiful heritage sites located which attracts large number
of tourists every year. It is important for an government of United Kingdom to save the heritage
sites for development of tourism. Sustainable development and promotion of tourism also a
major task of the government which helps the economy to generate more revenue and
profitability. The status of world heritage site is given by United Nations educational scientific
and cultural organisations. The headquarters of UNESCO are situated in Paris, France and its
current Director General is Audrey Azoulay. The L'anse aux Meadows National Historic Park,
Canada is world first heritage site which attracts thousands of tourists throughout the year.
Heritage sites are major places which hold good status in order to develop maximum utility of a
tourism based approach. Arslantepe Mound in Turkey and As-Salt in Jordan are two latest world
heritage sites which are discovered by UNESCO. Getting status of world heritage site is helpful
in making a particular place more famous for the tourism based organisations. The tourism sector
of United Kingdom is majorly promoted with the existence of world heritage sites. In the recent
times, many places of United Kingdom are demanding to become world heritage for welfare of
tourism industry. (Io, 2019)The practice related to cultural development is promoted by world
heritage cites in a precise manner which helps in making the culture alive. Traditions of various
people and places are also supported with the development of world heritage sites. It is very
much essential for the government of a country to focus on development world heritage sites in
order to protect traditions and culture of the country. In the recent times, government of United
Kingdom is also coming up with major plans and policies to support development of world
heritage sites. The world heritage site status helps a tourism site to get famous all over the world
in a short span of time. Also this status helps in increasing the value of a place in a precise
manner. The tourism sector is majorly dependent upon world heritage sites and it gets special
protection from the government. The special protection from government and UNESCO helps a
heritage site to promote itself all over the world. It is also one of the key role and responsibility
of tourists to maintain cleanliness at the heritage site to develop it is a visiting place. The tourism
based organisations in Mexico also get a good amount of benefit from the tourists who come to
visit the place. It is one of the crucial role of tourism department of government to perform
media advertising all across the globe in order to promote the tourism site. The sustainable
development of tourism site is utmost priority of government of United Kingdom.

The San Miguel de Allende is considered as most famous heritage site of Mexico which
is known for old world charm and world's first amenities. The town is famous for its nightlife
and abundance of various good restaurants which are famous for traditional food. Every year
many tourists from all over the world come to visit San Miguel de Allende to enjoy food and
destinations. In the town, there is a time capsule of cobblestone streets which are aligned with
jewel tone colonial facades and stone colonnades with a good infrastructure based church. The
top attractions of San Miguel includes hot springs, high desert hikes and Jesuit Sanctuary of
Atoltonilco. The site is famous for murals of angels and demons which is a major point of
attraction. The town is a great combination of modernity and traditional infrastructure which is
developed by well known architects. The town has Jacaranda trees which look very beautiful in
night as well as day. Another main reason behind selection of San Miguel as world heritage site
is, its rooftop dining restaurants and sunset. (Gao, Lin and Zhang, 2020)The sunrise in the town is
very beautiful with a touch of nature in different aspects. Although in the time of COVID-19, the
tourist destination has faced several issues and major decline in number of tourists from all
across the globe. It is also essential for the tourism places to develop and formulate a key
strategy which is perfect for development of the heritage site. San Miguel is also considered as a
major peaceful town which is also known for its prosperity. The town is also situated at a great
location which is easily commuted by large number of tourists. San Miguel heritage site is also
having large amount of area which makes tourists to explore more. The government should come
with developmetn of various initiatives that are supportive in development of world heritage site.
The UNESCO has chosen this world heritage site due to its significance and value for promoting
tourism based activities. It is also key role of government to promote tourism based destinations
in order serve tourism industry in a systematic manner. The information and technology is also a
major factor which can be considered by tourism based organisation in order to develop a
focused approach. World heritage site status helps a place to seek optimum attention from the
government which helps in increasing number of tourists. All major tourist based organisations
are dependent on heritage sites in order to develop revenue and profitability of the company. It is
also one of the key role of government to focus on analysing the parameters and demand of
world heritage site to perform development based practices. The heritage site is considered as
major place which helps all tourists to capture good moments and beautiful scenery images.

COVID-19, there was closing of borders which creates the problem in travelling form one place
to another place. In relation to this there was also problem during the local travelling. This leads
to many problem and high loss of tourism industry which was not getting business due to impact
of COVID-19. For the safety of tourist travelling was ban which creating loss in business and
due to this also there was loss of job. There are different types of cultures and traditions are
followed in different types of cities. It becomes beneficial for those person which explores these
cities that they have knowledge of these diversified cultural aspect and becomes success in their
life. It is essential for this type of person that they have historical knowledge about that so that
they can explore city effectively. (Bamidele, Idowu and Ajisafe, 2021)

From the above stated report it can be concluded that heritage sites are considered as
most important resource for a country. The analysis concludes the role of government in
preventing heritage and promoting tourism based activities. This project concludes relevance of
Mexico's San Miguel heritage site in handling large number of tourists. This analysis concludes
the significance of strategic planning framework and policies which are essential to issue
guidelines related to a tourism based site. There is a need of creating mass awareness related to
importance of world heritage cites for development of the economy.
