INTRODUCTION
Science refers to the area of study about the ordinary world which is based on some facts
or truths. These facts or truths are generated by experiments or observations. Technology refers
to the appliance of knowledge based on science (Khosravi, Rezvani and Wiewiora, 2016). Its
main purpose is to make human life more comfort or make any kind of procedures ease.
Technology has changed the world in today’s era. Science and technology are considered to be
interrelated to each other.
Essay Question – “The World of Science and Technology – Blessing or Curse.?”
This essay will highlight the positive and negative impact of science and technology on
human life.
ESSAY
The world of science and technology
Science and technology has made human life ease, comfort, advanced and qualitative. It
not only impact the living of the human but also has influenced the mental outlook of their as
well. These two terms, Science and technology also impacted the business, agriculture, transport,
communication, health, education, electricity, entertainment and environment etc.
Due to science and its applicant devices (technology), Electricity has born which is
considered to be the biggest sources of energy. With the help of energy, business can run its
machinery or big equipments, teachers can teach their students by various teaching aids, human
can decorate or light their rooms or homes operate various kinds of vehicles and entrepreneur
can run its startup easily. All of above, it has given various energy sources such as coal,
petroleum, oil, gas etc. which make the world change and convert it into small village.

Due to science, the field of agriculture also developed a lot. There are various agricultural
technologies happens due to science. Because of these science and technologies, farmers are able
to collect rain waters in the tanks for 12 months, use chemicals & qualitative compost for the
prevent crops from deteriorating and insects and use improved irrigation methods etc.
One of the major things that happen due to science is born of information technology and
computer technology (Josserand and Thoroddsen, 2016). Due to these two technologies, every
industry and businesses get closer to their clients & customers. Students are able to contact with
their teachers anytime, anywhere and anyhow. Human are able to do communicate immediately
and effectively. Automation in railways and banking sector has changed their business model
which leads staffs and public to do their related activities fast and accurately. Also, computer
technologies have made every aspect of human life and business life revolutionized. With the
help of computers reservation, ticketing, research, accounting, business work, medical diagnosis
and forecast of weather & natural disasters etc. has improved and become more efficient.
The biggest achievement of science and its technologies are mobile phone devices and
robotic devices. These two devices have made significant impact on human life and work. It has
helped businessman and entrepreneurs to improve their business quality and along with that they
both are able to earn profits due to evolution of various strategies, techniques, tools, software and
applications which developed due to mobiles, computers and robotic devices.
There are various achievements of science which has made human life comfort, ease and
full of technologies. But this science has also negatively impact the various areas such as
education, agriculture, business, entertainment, energy, communication and human life etc.
(Rossini, 2019).
Due to excessive usage of fertilizers, chemical based composts and pesticides, plants and
trees’ lives are getting affected. It also impacts the quality of food, crops, fruits and vegetables
which lead to negative impact on the health of human life.
Internet has been provided by the help of science. In today’s era, internet power is so
strong that it has been using for unhealthy and unethical practices. These practices include
hacking & leaking of data, lack of security of information, lack of privacy of confidential process
or information, wide spread of pornographies, increase in moral panic, increase in internet
addiction, increase in social isolation and increase in cybercrime etc. (Russell, 2016).
Environment is the one who has been negatively and badly affected by the revolution of
science and technology. Environmental issues are the biggest issues, all human are facing.
Increase in global warming, rapidly changes in climates, coming of natural disasters repeatedly,
depleting the ozone layer, cutting forests & gardens and increase in pollution level etc. are the
best example of environmental issues, all the countries are currently facing. The founding of big
factories, companies, organizations, institutions and plants has negatively impacted the
environment and the lives of humans as well as the animals & birds too.

Another curse of Science and Technology is that Technology has made complex and
tough tasks simple and comfortable. Those activities which took long time to complete are today
done within minutes or hours or a day with the help of various kinds of technologies which is
born due to evolution of science. But, it has made human too occupied badly in their trap which
lead to a lot of series of health conditions. There are many human (in which counting of children,
youngsters and students are high) are completely dependent on various technologies, appliances
and gadget. This led them with no or less than physical activities and wasting their huge time on
laptop, computer and gadget etc. These habits lead to so many health problems such as
depression, obesity, cancer, skin allergic problems and insomnia etc. (Han, Capraro and Capraro,
2015).
CONCLUSION
From the above essay, it has been summarized that every aspect has two sides – Good
and Bad and the same goes with science and technology too. Science and technology is good
assistant but bad administrator. If human are using science and technology for the vicious
purpose, it is not the mistake of science and technology. The man, who is using them for wrong
purpose, should be blamed. The use of science and technology is open to everyone to use. The
impact of science and technology is broad and wide-ranging from the human lives to business
activities. We can say that world of science and technology is bless as well as curse depends
upon the purpose of usage of it.
