This helps them to convince people for visiting different places by knowing their preferences.
Thus, development of contemporary tourism has lead to an increase in the growth of tourists.
Economic impacts refer to the consequences that tourism have on the economy of a
country. Economy is the position of a country or place with respect to production and
consumption of goods and services along with supply of money. These effects can be both,
positive as well as negative (Sheldon, 2020). Rise in GDP, improved tax revenue, better
infrastructural facilities, higher demand for local goods, increasing amenities such as parks,
increase in employment etc., are some of the positive impacts of tourism on the economy.
Tourism helps in increasing the financial treasures of the country. This help the Government to
provide its citizens with better facilities. Better infrastructural and amenities facilities are the
results of improved tax revenue. UK is a major tourist spot, famous for its beautiful places
(Antunes, Gonçalves and Estevão, 2022). These places or regions are the reason for the tourists
attraction in the country. Tourists find local products of a country quite appealing. This increases
the demand for the local products during the visit of tourists. This increases the income of the
local community residing there. This helps the citizens to increase the standard of living as their
purchasing power increases. They are also able to save more for the future (Xu, Huang and
Shang, 2021). The increase in demand for local products also gives recognition to the country in
the international market. Significant amount of funds are contributed by the tourism industry into
the financial treasures of the country. This made UK quite dependent on tourism sector for the
supply of funds. This is the major drawback of tourism, faced by UK, during the time of
pandemic. Lockdown resulted in decrease of tourist visits in the country and the supply of funds
stopped. During the pandemic, UK was facing financial crisis also. Further increase in the prices
of local goods, overcrowding and traffic jams, etc., are other negative impacts of tourism drawn
on the economy.
Environment is referred to the surroundings band conditions where the people resides. It
is the belongings around humans and animals. Environment keeps on changing due to its
dynamic nature. The impacts that tourism have on environment are known as environmental
impacts of tourism. These impacts may be positive or negative (Musavengane, 2019).
Conservation of forests, protection of wildlife creatures, afforestation, etc., are some of the
positive effects that tourism have on environment. Tourists visit places with beautiful nature.

implemented various rules and regulations in relation to conservation of forests. Cutting down
trees is considered as illegal and is a crime. Promotion of afforestation is done by the
government and it tries to plant more and more trees for both, tourists as well as health of
citizens. Killing of wildlife creatures is banned everywhere and is considered as a crime. They
are being protected for the new generations (Pforr, Dowling and Volgger, 2021). The rules
implemented by the government are to be followed strictly and must be applicable on every
person. Strict actions are required to be taken by the government, if the rules are not followed.
This helps the local people preserve their belongings and maintained well. Every type of
pollution, soil erosion, littering, overuse of natural resources, etc., are the negative impacts of
tourism on environment (Sonuç, 2020). Tourists have a very bad habit of throwing garbage here
and there rather than in dustbins. This makes the surroundings dirty and messy which make
them look worse. Tourism industry puts great stress on the land locally used by the people which
can lead to soil erosion. Further, the tourists often overuse natural resources especially water.
This can lead to a scarcity of water in a particular region. Thus, government should impose
restrictions on using the resources unnecessarily or exploiting them.
Society and its cultures are an important part of individual's life. Society refers to a group
a people with similar interest and traditions. Sometimes tourism may affect the society and its
culture in different ways which can be positive or negative. Assistance to traditional art,
preserving local culture and heritage, promotion of brotherhood, strengthening communities,
commercialisation and revitalisation of customs and art, etc., are some positive impacts of
tourism that the society enjoys. Tourists show a keen interest in the traditional art forms of the
places they visit. This motivates the local community to produce more of their local products and
keep their skill alive (Young, 2018). Preservation of heritages is the best impact that tourism
have on society. Archaeologists visit from different places for these heritages. The stories behind
these heritages attracts them as they have an interest in such things. The government imposed
various restrictions and rules to be followed in order to protect the historical buildings. Tourism
involves meeting new people (Zhang and Zhang, 2020). This promote brotherhood among
different sections of society. There are some negative impacts that tourism have on society such
as conflicts among the citizens and tourists, forced prostitution, exploitation of natural resources,
human trafficking, etc. There are people who visit places to satisfy their desires particularly. This
increases the cases of forced prostitution and human trafficking in that area or region

(Kubickova and Campbell, 2020). Generally young girls are forced into these jobs. These are the
heinous crimes in the society faced by tourism. It has the power to ruin the whole life of a girl. It
is the duty of the government to ensure eradication of such crimes from the society as soon as
possible. Strict checking and rules should be imposed in order to prevent these crimes (Pulatova,
2020). Overuse or misuse of natural resources is another negative impact faced by the society.
Tourism involves the use of natural resources to a huge extent. This is depleting the natural
resources. For preserving natural resources, they must be used in a limited amount, as much as it
is necessary.

CONCLUSION
From the above essay, it can be concluded that tourist industry has developed a lot after
the pandemic. This helped in increasing the financial treasurers of the country. Increased
financial treasures help the government to provide both, citizens and tourists, with better
infrastructural facilities. There are various positive and negative impacts that tourism may draw
on economy, environment, society and culture of a country. Government should take strict
actions for preserving the resources which tourism may deplete. More and more trees should be
planted to to preserve nature and the beauty of the country. Further crimes such as forced
prostitution and human trafficking must be taken seriously as these are the most abhor crimes the
society can ever face. Necessary actions must be taken to minimise them. Tourism promotes
brotherhood among the society which strengthens different communities. Hence, tourism has
various positive impacts too. The negative effects can be minimised by imposing strict rules and
regulations. It is the duty of the government, to not only impose, but also ensure that these laws
are followed properly.
