1WORLDVIEW ANALYSIS AND PERSONAL INVENTORY
When I get to hear about the term “Worldview” being said and discussed about, I
immediately link it with the definition of the world view, which stated that the term refers to
the orientation of an individual and also the knowledge that the individual possesses about the
society in which that individual himself or herself lives in. The term had been described in
different manners by the linguists and the social theorists who have tries to explain the term
to the readers and the audience. However, I feel that world view basically refers to the ideals
and the beliefs which an individual or a particular group believes in all the time.
The purpose of this essay is to provide an analysis of the subject matters of the
world view as well as the personal inventory as had been mentioned in the article itself.
When the topic of the Christian Perspective of the nature of the Spirituality and ethics
is discusses while contrasting the topic with that of the perspective of the post-modern
relativism within health care, the readers finds that the topic given is a controversial topic in
itself. This is evidenced by the fact that the Christians receive the truth which they find from
the Bible itself rather than consulting medical sources for the various health sources which
are available for them. They are the ones who believes in the fact that when an individual
falls sick, the one who is responsible for the illness of the individual is God himself. The
Christians are of the opinion that an individual falling ill is because of God’s will and it is
God himself who will cure the person of his/her illness (Oman, 2016).
Many experts are of the opinion that Christians are mostly reluctant to receive any
soert of help from the medical facilities because of their belief in God itself. Thus, it can be
seen that the ethics of the Christians are based on the rule of God himself. On the other hand,
if the Post-modern concept of ethics id to be compared with that of the Christian perspective
itself, it can be stated that the main belief in the post-modernism is the fact that an individual
who is ill, should get their medical help from that of the hospital itself instead of the help

from God. Thus, it can be said that the individuals in the post – modern era are said to be
lacking their decency as well as their morality while the individuals of the Christian belief of
spirituality are said to be base their ethics on the order of God as God’s order consists of
morality (Loughlin et. all, 2016). This firms the contrast of the Christian morality with that of
the post-modern perspective of the individuals themselves.
When the term scientism is referred, it refers to a type of ideology that promotes the
subject of science as the methods by which the society should be able to determine the
normative as well as the epistemological values of the society itself. Thus, scientism is used
to make implications of the extreme measures of the logical positivism which is present in
th3e society itself. This term has also been used by the social theorists as well as the
historians to indicate the readers about the dangers of the lapses of reductionism in the
society itself. Thus, it can be said that the scientism refers to the subject of philosophy as well
as the subject of the history itself (Stenchmark, 2017). Hence, it is considered to be one of the
important philosophies of all time.
The first argument which can be directed against the field of scientism is the fact that
the promoters of scientism always explain the matters using both the ideals of philosophy as
well as science. Hence, the argument states that since the ideals involve both the fields, then
scientism cannot be purely considered to be a field of science itself. Hence, many experts are
of the opinion that is important to keep the fields of science as well as philosophy separate
from each other so that each of the subjects can deal with the ideologies of their own. This
forms the first argument against scientism (Kidd, 2014).
The second argument against scientism is that the subject matter of scientism is
grounded in the matter of social constructivism. The main argument in this case in this case is
that the humans mostly construct instead of discovering the meaning of the world. Thus,

scientism, has been argued against by the experts themselves because of the fact that the
authority of the scientific truth does not derive from the legitimate claims but from the
subject matter of the rhetorical as well as the political strategies which were used by the
individuals themselves to make sure that they are able to promote their ideas and theories to
the readers and the audiences (Scruton, 2014). Thus, this forms the second argument against
the concept of scientism itself.
I feel that when the term ultimate reality is referred, it means the fact that the term
refers to a type of reality in which there is something which is considered to be the supreme,
final and has the only power in all of the reality itself (Scruton, 2017). In other words, this
concept of the ultimate reality is considered to be God himself, which is seen to be common
in almost all the religions itself. This is because of the fact that God is considered to be the
only supreme being in the universe itself and hence, it is the ultimate reality in itself.
The concept of the nature of the universe is considered to be defined by a number of
physical as well as the universal laws in itself. These laws refer to the various laws in the
universes which includes the laws of the mechanics as well as the laws of the
thermodynamics as well as the other concepts and objects in itself. Hence, this has been
referred to be described as the nature of the universe itself (Stenchmark, 2016).
According to the theme of the religion itself, a human being is considered to be one of
the most important creations of God himself. Therefore, it is said that the human beings are
the most intelligent creatures which are created by God himself. Therefore, it is said that the
human beings are really the intelligent creatures of God.
Knowledge is defined as the term which indicates obtaining what is already known by
then human beings themselves (Loughlin et all, 2017). The base of knowledge is based on the

subject matter of the information which the human beings gain every day in their lives. Thus,
it can be stated that knowledge is indeed one of the necessities of life itself.
My basis of ethics is based on the concept of doing what is right. I feel that it is very
important to stick by what is right. That is why it is important to stick by the right code of the
ethics and do what is right so that I can help others in my life.
The purpose of my existence is to achieve the goals which I want to in my life and at
the same time, help others in their problems so that they would be able to overcome their
problems (Oman, 2016).
From the above discussions, it can be stated that world view is indeed an important
subject because it helps the individuals to reflect deeply about themselves and their
surroundings. Thus, it also helps them to connect with God and reflect on the purpose of their
lives.
