MENTORING AND COACHING 1
Business Proposal for Mentoring Programs
The mentoring and coaching is essential in expanding the knowledge of the organization. SBK
Elite is a group of clinical psychologist with two-year experience in designing and implementing
the mentoring programs. The company has devised mentoring programs for a large number of
large business organizations. It has conducted post-graduate course in clinical psychology.
Therefore, it has diversified knowledge in identifying the mentoring and knowledge development
needs of the organization, and developing tailored programs for the organization. The
organization has experience in designing learning programs, which encompass both classroom
training as well as one-to-one training for the employees.
In the present, there are a large number of academic literature, which demonstrates that
mentoring and coaching are effective method for the learning and the development of the
employees. The mentoring refers to one-on-one training, in which the skills of the employees is
developed with the help of constant communication between the senior and the junior employees
of the organization. The senior employees can share their experience and wisdom, whereas the
junior employees can share their knowledge of the current technology (Laverick, 2016).
According to the present academic research, mentoring is one of the most effective technique for
the employee development as the mentee can learn about the strengths and weaknesses of the
employees. They can use them to impart training in the best manner.
With the internal analysis of the organization, it has been identified that XYZ Plc. has significant
mentoring needs. The company has recently recruited about 50% of its human resources. These
people lack experience and are not aware of the organization culture and wisdom, which is learnt
from the work experience (Megginson, 2006).
The mentoring program can only be effective when strong relationships are built between the
mentor and the mentees. Therefore, it is important to select the mentor and the mentee, so that
successful relationships are developed. The Auto-matching can be used to locate the potential
partner in the mentoring process of the organization. The auto-matching is the process, in which,
the organization locate the potential mentors in the system. The system finds a match, based on
the development needs of the mentee and the expertise area of the mentor. It also focuses on the
professional goals of the mentee, which are linked with the career history of the mentor.
The company will adopt formal mentoring process. Along with it, it will also adopt reverse
mentoring process (Parsloe & Wray, 2000). The formal mentoring process is a mentoring
process is which two parties are paired together for the mentoring process. It is a one-on-one
relationship, in which one employee is given training by the seniors. It reduces the cost of the
training and saves the time of the organization. In the implementation process, the reverse
mentoring method will also be used, in which the both the mentor and mentee can offer their
knowledge and expertise.
SBK Elite is expert in developing and designing such training and mentoring programs for
organizations of different size. The following implementation plan of the program is proposed: It
include the timeframe and the cost to the organization:
