"The Industrial Revolution helped to make a better world."
Industrial Revolution has been identified as a transition to the new manufacturing process. The
process was marked by the transition from traditional methods to use of machines, use of the
new chemicals to manufacture different products, increased production of iron goods and
development of machine tools which led to mechanized work in factories. In addition, the
Industrial Revolution led to increased population and improved standard of living.
The main aim of the paper is to account on how the Industrial Revolution led to a better life in
the world. Industrial Revolution, in general, led to various advancement in the world. Some of
the improvements associated with the Industrial Revolution were evident in transport networks,
new factories, growth of cities and shaping the entire world in general.
First Industrial Revolution led to advances in transport. Industrial Revolution depended on
transportation of materials and finished goods to the industries. Through this, transport networks
such as roads and railways were constructed for the transportation of materials and finished
goods. This improved life as people could move from one place to the other and at the same
time, they were able to get finished products from the industries. By 1810 Richard Trevithick
constructed the first steam locomotive which could help in transportation of goods efficiently.
In addition, the Industrial Revolution led to the construction of factories/mine systems.
Generally, industrialization marked a shift to machinery, factories and mass production.
Increased production of iron and textile industries played a key role in the industrial revolution.
Through the factories, there was improved communication, transportation, and banking services

people could be employed in factories and at the same time factories were in a position to
provide finished goods.
Also, the Industrial Revolution led to urbanization by creating economic growth. Urbanization
led to a better life by creating new job opportunities. Most of the people started migrating to
urban centers to seek new life and also seek new jobs from the industries. Researchers have
indicated how towns such as Cairo in Egypt started as a result of the Industrial Revolution.
In general, the Industrial Revolution impacted the entire world. The world experienced increased
population along with the improved standard of living which led to a better life.
Therefore, I agree that the Industrial Revolution led to a better life. Industrial Revolution led to
the development of industries, urbanization and also improved transport networks. Through
transportation networks and increased supply of finished goods within the society, the Industrial
Revolution led to a better life.
