Promotional activities
In this modern era, there are many hard competitions of selling in the market. There
are more similar products with various design and brand with more consumer. At the same
time, consumer is the person who rate and judge the quality and productivity of the products.
The main focus of the production is the sales. How will the buyers get to know the products,
when they have not heard or seen the products themselves? Therefore, the promotional
activities must acknowledge the products existence and availability to the buyers.
During this Movement Control Order (MCO) due to Covid-19, I as an information
content developer, introducing yogurt drink called Yeogurt. Yeogurt is a drink product from
Yeo’s company. This product comes with 6 flavours which are original, mango, grape, green
apple, lychee, and orange. This yogurt drinks are very nutritious, and consuming it regularly
may boost several aspects of our health. For those who likes flavoured yogurt with
sweetened taste, this product is the most suitable for their taste. The most important part
here is this product is certified halal by Jakim which means there’s no prohibited ingredients
in the drinks and it can be consume by users safely. The main ingredient in the drinks are
yogurt and milk with no added preservations.
Online/digital marketing
In my opinion, online marketing is the best promotional activities for me to promote
Yeogurt drinks by Yeo’s because of the convenience and less time consuming. Online
marketing has become more and more common nowadays plus with the pandemic situation
that we are in now, online marketing has been main promotional platform for any products.
After discovering the wide range benefits of internet marketing in promoting products and
services online, it has soon become the leading medium for marketing all over the world.
Based on what I have seen during this pandemic situation in our country, most product are
being promoted using online and digital platform such as social media, blog, streaming
platform, and mobile applications. Because of this pandemic situation, people nowadays
spent more time with their gadgets, so online marketing is the most effective way to promote
the product. So, I think the least effective way to promote the products Is by paper
advertising such as poster, flyers and newspaper. Not to be missed, during my search and
analysis of this promotional activities, I have encountered with many products promoter like
me that used online marketing as their promotional platform. So, despite the convenience of

using online marketing, a high competition among promoter is a challenge for me to
overcome so I can assure my promotional products is a success which will catch people’s
eyes.
As I stated earlier, convenience and quick is one of the reasons of why online
marketing is effective as promotional activities. The internet has easy access to the data and
information of the market and consumers across the country. For online marketing platform
such as Shopee and Lazada, these are the modern market place for people nowadays to
purchase any product. This is an advantage for buyer as it means they can order online right
from their home. At the same time, the sellers can easily track sales items online as they
make the delivery. Online marketing is perfect for business as it gives consumers a better
and more comfortable shopping experience. The convenience plays a big role in making the
buying decision. Online marketing reduces cost and runs around the clock. That means that
my online marketing will run for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Compared to traditional
marketing, online marketing does not constrain me with opening hours. At the same time,
will not have to work hard overtime to promote the product because the online marketing
itself helps me in doing it without me to keep in touch. In addition, there is no regional or
international time difference for me to worry about that will affect the reachability or
availability of the online marketing of my promotional product. Whenever someone turn on
their computer and connects to the internet, there is a high chance of them to see my
promotional product and online marketing. Furthermore, consumers can look for my product
at their most convenient time.
Next, marketing Yeogurt product online gives me the ability to target my audiences
based on the analysis which contain the consumer details such as the name, age and place.
This allow me to concentrate my efforts on the audience that I truly want to offer the Yeogurt
product. I would never be able to target audience at area miles away from my place. By
using online marketing, I will be able to target different target audience at different places
even in Sabah and Sarawak. Every time someone visits my online website and fills in a form,
it will give me an idea of who my customers really are and let me discover important details
about them such as age and interests, which better shapes my services to match their
needs. For example, if I receive more order from people lives in Pahang, I will be ale to take
note with that and focusing more to promote the new and latest product of Yeo’s to people
lives in Pahang. While doing so, I will keep promoting the product to the whole country
including Sabah and Sarawak to gain more consumers for the Yeogurt product.

Although online marketing creates many opportunities for businesses to grow their
presence via the internet and build the target audiences, there are also inherent challenges
with online methods of marketing. First, the marketing can become impersonal, due to the
virtual nature of message and content delivery to a desired audience. So, in order to
understand the overall user experiences, I will use surveys and user review as techniques to
have strong understanding with the consumers. Online survey is a great market research
tool in order to explore if there is market for a new product or service or for validating a new
business idea. Moreover, online surveys offer a fast and accurate solution for cost-effective
market research. One particularly powerful instrument many businesses use to improve their
customers’ experience is surveys. After all, once I have a customer, isn’t it the best practice
to do anything I can to keep them? During my research of the survey, I have found that
consumers prefer to complete online surveys rather than take part in written questionnaires
or telephone interviews and usually provide longer and more detailed answers. By designing
and sending relevant and targeted surveys, people are more likely to respond with honest
answers. The survey will not only helps improving my promotional activities, but also
improves the product that I am promoting itself.
Right after analysing the survey, I will make sure to compare the product and
services provided before this with the latest to carry out any deficiency of the products so I
can improve my promotional activities and also allow me to inform the Yeo’s company to
improve their product. I can use the data to set goals for my customer service to achieve
positive feedback. In addition, if consumers give negative feedback once, I will make sure to
improve everything that I lack whether it comes from my promotional problem or products
quality problem and always keep in touch with the consumer so they will stay with the
product. Based on my observation to other marketing, customers are able to forgive a
company for imperfect products or some bad quality as long as they have an excellent
customer experience.

Conclusion
For the conclusion, online marketing is the best platform as promotional activities that
will help me as an information content developer, in promoting the product by Yeo’s
company during Movement Control Order (MCO) due to Covid-19. Online marketing is very
good to sell and promote our product because it is convenience, low cost, global marketing,
24/7 hours operation, and can collect data of consumers. This shows that online marketing is
very useful and ideal to develop professional online marketing and will attract more
customers for the product that will help to grow the business itself. So, I hope that anyone
who wants to promote any product during this pandemic time to have strength and confident
in order to grow their business during this hard time.
