Introduction
Addiction is a great issue that is being faced by most of the youngsters in Australia. There has
been various licence and policies implemented on the people who have been dealing with
drugs or additional items (Miller, Oberbarnscheidt & Gold, 2017). The paper will help to
identify the conditions that are being faced by a person who has been highly addicted in
marijuana. Addiction has a great impact in the body as well as mental condition. There are
various risk factors that what must be aware of before getting addicted hence the paper is
based on the study of Alisha who has been highly addicted in marijuana.
Goal
In order to ensure that a person is aware of the conditions that may lead to high addiction of
marijuana there are few initiatives that are being taken up by the government to make people
bring out off such addictions (Johnson, Covington & Chung, 2018). The prime goal of the
family or the counsellor is to make people aware of various consequences of addiction and
help them live without addiction. Making them live happily and finding the reason of
addiction is one of the prime goal of the paper.
Risk and protective factors
While getting addicted to marijuana there will be various risk factors involved. Apart from
physical health with addiction of marijuana, physical health is highly affected. It has been
observed in Alisha that she has been highly suffering from anxiety and depression that made
her choose addictions like marijuana. As she is a young girl, there are many chances that she
may get into addiction and bringing out of addiction may be impossible. Complete loss of
memory is another risk if she is not quitting marijuana (Csiernik & Rowe, 2017). However,
there are various healthy factors about marijuana, which may help in building memories if
consumed in a limited quantity.

Further information for the case study
As she has been addicted to marijuana since a long time, it is necessary that one must
understand the situation is that she is going through. As it has been explained by her that she
has been very isolated in school it is important to find out the reason of isolation (FAROKHI
& Shahbazi, 2018). She may bullied or harassed due to which she finds isolation in school.it
is also important to understand her family background as it will give a clear image of
continuing the counselling forward.
Way to obtain information
As stated by Caulkins & Kilmer (2016), it is necessary to comfort the patient and make her
believe that she can rely on the counsellor. This will help in finding a solution to the issues
that the patient are suffering as the patient will clearly explain about the things that they are
facing and the reasons being addicted to cabbis.
Services for liaising with Alisha
As state by Esalati, Arab & Mehdinezhad (2019), it is evident that she has been facing
isolation hence the first important thing that should be provided to her is friendship. She
should be very comfortable while speaking to a counsellor and it is important that she finds it
friendly e and comfortable enough to share all her information. Making a good friendly
relation with Alisha will help her to express reasons of choosing marijuana. What developing
a friendly relationship will help to guide her and help for overcome hard depression and
issues that made her get addicted to marijuana. Moreover, she must be supported for all her
activities such has spending time with her boyfriend. This will make her feel comfortable and
speak various things that has been going in her head.

Professional skills
In order to handle a cannabis addicted patient it is important that counsellor develops of good
communication skill that will be influential in the patient. it is the responsibility of the
counsellor to ensure that the patient is comfortable enough to speak in front of her and
explain about the issues that made them bound to choose cannabis as an addiction (Mohan &
Math (2019). Monitoring is another important skill that must be developed while handling a
cannabis addicted patient. Tracking the information from the speech, that day deliver while
counselling is very important to understand the issues that are leading them to such
addictions.
Challenges and dilemmas
In handling patients who have been addicted to marijuana is very difficult as gathering
information from them about the issues that made them choose such addiction is very
difficult. Moreover people those who are addicted into marijuana have a tendency to find
people spying them. This is the reason they do not open up or communicate easily with
everyone (Pienaar & Dilkes-Frayne, 2017). Hens while counselling a marijuana patient is
very difficult, as they do not disclose their secrets. Alisha was very e young and one of the
dilemma while counselling her was that making her realise that she is wrongly addicted is
leading to you getting involved with people who cannot we say for her such as her boyfriend.
Deciding the best way forward
It is important that Odisha must be given a very e good care. In order to provide her a good
care it is necessary that she must be healed from the pains, help her support, and guide to the
right path. She must be made aware of the conditions that may lead to have a great in fact in
her life. Making her realise that drugs may have a great and long lasting impact in her life

(Esalati, Arab & Mehdinezhad, 2019). I also made aware that cannabis could help her heal
her pins for a particular period however it may not be helpful for long run.
Conclusion
From the paper, it can be concluded that it is necessary that children must be highly
prioritised. Making them understand the right and wrong is very important that will help them
find the best path for their life. They should be made aware of the conditions that can have a
great impact in their life.
