Youth Community Development: Bullying and Social Media Impact

This research proposal investigates the impact of social media, bullying, and peer harassment on the mental and physical health of young people, focusing on the negative effects in schools, homes, and social environments. The study aims to identify factors contributing to child abuse, unethical behaviors, and the role of peer pressure, while also exploring the responsibilities of schools and parents. The research questions address how to identify and mitigate these issues, proposing solutions and interventions based on interviews with children and a review of existing literature. The methodology includes a deductive approach, qualitative data analysis, and primary data collection through interviews, with ethical considerations and a focus on the reliability and validity of the findings. The proposal highlights the importance of understanding and addressing the challenges faced by youth in today's society, with the goal of promoting their well-being and ethical development. Proposed Title of Research Project:
In consideration with the current environmental scenario in most of the colleges, schools,
workplace as well as social places there have been negative impacts on the young generation.
Therefore, the society have been turning into inappropriate environment which is affecting the social
culture and the ethical operations. Peer pressure or abuse has been seen in various kids or young
generation population which is affecting their self-esteem and moral. Kids at the young age have been
engaged in unlawful and unethical things like drugs, sexual activities, crime etc. which is abolishing
their career and future.
Purpose of Research:
As per considering the main motive behind conducting research is for making people aware
with the current issues and elements which are affecting the mental as well as physical health of kids.
There can be influences of various factors which can affect the future of this generation. In most of the

places where the kids are studying playing and having appearance have been tortured with bullying
and peer pressure. There have been faced various issues like bullying from years which brought them
in depression. The research projects will highlight all the main causes and its impacts on the mental
as well as physical health of kids in the current environment. There can be various issues and
obstacles which have been faced by young children. The issues will be highlighted and research will
analyses the adequate solutions to such issues. Along with this, there have been ascertainment of
various details and information that will be gathered through conducting a survey and analysis on the
kids. They have been interviewed and were asked regarding their issues and obstacles have been
faced by them in the business operations.
On the other side, parents of such kids are more concerned regarding the behaviours of their
kids or the external influences which are affecting their ethical values. To suggest the parents of such
kids there will be various solutions and the outcomes provided to them. They have been suggested to
make appropriate decisions and analysis over research issues. Moreover, several issues which are
affecting the mental and physical health of young children have been addressed and analyzed to have
appropriate administration of the all the areas where their kid is going.
Background/ context of the research/ main research questions:
Aim: “To identify the peer harassment and bullying impacts on mental peace of young kids”
Objective:
 To identifying the factors which are raising the level of child abuse in schools, social place
and play grounds.
 To determine issues indicating unethical behaviours of young kids due to bullying.
 To ascertain the alternative provision and duty of schools with respect to vulnerable young
people.
 To suggest the steps to be taken by parents and schools in terms of reducing unethical
things.
Research question:
 How to identifying the factors which are raising the level of child abuse in schools, social

 How to determine issues indicating unethical behaviours of kids due to bullying?

Literature review:
As per the views of Holt and Gini, (2017), In the recent era there have been increment in the
child crime rate. Children at younger age have been affected due to behaviours of society towards
them. The continuous bullying has affect ed their mental peace as well as negatively affect their self

esteem and moral in approach towards managing the operational activities. These are the
psychological factors which have affected the emotional feelings of kids. There can be ascertainment
of various factors such as reduction in confidence, creativity, talent and skills of kids. They have been
facing depression which affects the mental as well as physical health that have invited various
diseases. Schrooten, Scholte and Didden, (2017) argued that, parents must keep proper records of
their kids going anywhere and doing activities. Thus, such analysis will be helpful in having proper
information regarding their accessibility. The responsibility of parents is in terms of making qualitative
changes and analysis over the unethical things happening to their kids.
Newman and et.al., (2017) identified that, abusiveness, harassment and insults have been
includes in the bullying techniques. Therefore, there are various negative impacts of such elements on
the emotions and mental health of young population. There are various things which are included in it
such as insults, harmful hazing, personal belongings etc. at the main factors which provokes the peer
pressure among kids. Along with this, there have been impacts of external individual which brings the
kind into depression. Therefore, depression at the younger age causes various serious diseases. It is
an invitation to the cancer, diabetes and various life-threatening disease at the younger age. Kline and
Lewis, (2018) ascertained that, it is not only faced by the younger people there are various adults
which have also being affected by such unethical and unlawful elements which incurred the drastic
changes in their behaviours and health. There have been increment in the crime rates which are
indicating that the life and health of people are not safe and secure.
Dunn, Clark and Pearlman, (2017) sought to analyze that, there have been various kinds of
harassment to a person can feel at various location such as at schools, colleges, workplace and
anywhere. It can be categories in term of damages they incurred mentally or physically to a person.
Direct physical bullying represents that there are various causes such as hitting, tripping, punching,
pinching, damaging the personal property etc. ate the factors which are affecting a serious physical
damage to a person. Therefore, it will be denoted under the crime which is affecting another person
as well as damaging them. Holt and Gini, (2017) presented the view that, physical violence has been
denoted as the domestic violence which can also affects the mental health of a person. There have
been damages to the individual rights and regulation which will have impacts on the activities
performed by them.

Proposed sample group:
To analyze the issues stated in the society there will be analysis over various kids which were
randomly interviewed to analyze their issues and bullying problem have ben faced by them in this
process. Therefore, there are 5 kids which were being interviewed to asked them several questions
regarding the issues they faces at schools, park and various social places.
Methods of data collection:
In order to analyze the current issues and obstacles faced by people, which are facing the
bullying and peer pressure there will be use of various techniques and methods which will help in
analyzing the outcomes. In approach towards using the adequate methods into practice there are two
methods such as primary and secondary data analysis. Therefore, in relation with these issues there
have been consideration of primary method of data analysis. Thus, in this process primary methods
are consisting of several techniques such as taking interview, focus group analysis, questionnaires
etc. Thus, as per making appropriate changes in the operational practices there can be use of various
issues and cases which will be helpful in addressing the adequate issues. In this process researcher
have selected to use primary research methods on which they will take interviews of several kids and
young children to analyze their issues and addressing the main factors which are causing damage to
their emotional feelings.
Methodology:
This is the technique which have been used by a researcher in terms of analyzing the market
issues and research issues. To analyze and highlight the key issues there will be administration and
ascertainment of various techniques which will help in making adequate analysis. There are various
methods which have been used in the research methods which will benefit the researcher in framing
the operations.
Research Philosophy:
There have been various philosophies which have been used in the research project on which
positivism have been selected by the researcher with an approach to analyze the data and make
adequate judgment based on the research issues.
Research approach:
In the process there have been influences of two factors of approaches in the research such
as inductive and deductive. Therefore, in the present research there will be use of deductive approach

which consists of analyzing the data through thematic interpretations. Thus, the opinion of various
kids has been taken anlsyed to have appropriate outcomes suggestion based on concerning the
objectives of the research.
Research Design:
Research will be based on studying the factors which will be anlsyed through implicating
several techniques. There are qualitative and quantitative techniques which can be studied and
analyzed to have appropriate ascertainment of various issues. In this present report there will be use
of qualitative technique on which primary research technique will be used for analyzing the issues in
research. This will be based on analyzing the outcome through asked question to the kids on which
they have presented their views to get the adequate determination of operations.
Data collection:
It is comprised of two methods of conducting the survey in the market. Thus, the use pf
primary data collection method will be based on questionnaire, interviews and focus group analyzing
technique while considering the secondary data collection technique there have been use of internet
observation, studying through books and journals etc. In the present research, there will be use of
primary data collection technique which in turn presenting the adequate analysis over the data base.
Thus, on which researcher will ask question to children regarding the peer harassment and bullying
issues.
Data analysis:
All the gathered information and outcomes have been analyzed through implicating the qualitative
technique. Thus, all the reviews from interviews conducted among kids will be analyzed research to
analyze the accurate obstacle and main cause which is affecting the mental as well as physical health
of them. Thus, in the basis of such issues their parents and guardians will be suggested to take
necessary Initiative in analyzing their inner feelings and make appropriate changes for them.
Ethical consideration:
A per considering the ethical influences in the research study there will be implication of various
research techniques and methods which in turn will be helpful in presenting the authenticity to the
used information all the theories have been addressed and in-text references with considering the
reference list at the end of the project.
Reliability and Validity:
By considering the validity of the research there have been use of reliable and valid
information through authentic sources. There have been addressed through various books, journals
and current articles on which ascertainment of adequate information will be gathered and analyzed by
the research. Along with this, kids have been asked such issues on which they have presented their
personal reviewed which can be appropriate and adequate as per having better analysis on research
problems.

All researchers (including students) have the responsibility to respect the rights and dignity of
research participants. This is particularly important when conducting research with vulnerable groups
in society such as children and young people.
All researchers must maintain high ethical standards and respect and protect the participants
in their research.
Guidance needs to be sought from British Educational Research Association (BERA); Social
Research Association (SRA) and other relevant professional bodies.

theory.
 Protection of Participants: There have been influences of kids and young children for
presenting their views and issues among the research. Thus, there have been use of a
female interviewer which is basically a psychological factor that that kids are comfortable with
the females. Along with this, there have been selection of various question which were
designed in a manner that they do not feel assistant on replaying them.
 The Right to Withdraw: If a kid does not want to answer any question they cane withdraw and
refuse to the give answer. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce their depression and not that
they must feel stress of uncomfortable with the question. Therefore, they have not being
forced to present a replay on each question. If a question offends them than they have right
to refusing answering such questions.
 Confidentiality: There have been consideration on keeping the detail safe and secure as well
as the identity of the kids. Their personal details and issues which have been asked to them
have been kept by them confidential which will not be based on not affecting their mental
health and giving them the adequate support to express their views freely.
 Informed Consent: There have been influences of such information which will be shared
among the parents of such kids.
