Sub: Application letter to resign the university study
Respected sir/madam,
I am Yuran Zeng and I have been studying in Eynesbury College at the
Adelaide city campus, effective from 2017. I would like to inform you that I am willing to resign
from the university study due to my ill health condition. For the past one year I am living in the
Adelaide city for my education, however, I have failed to accommodate myself with the
Australian environment. Due to my ill health condition, I couldn’t study properly and perform
any of my extra curriculum activities. In addition, my academic performance is highly affected
by my present health situation, which can be seen from my poor marks in the consecutive exams
taken by various faculty members during the last one year.
Sir, I am from China and came to Adelaide city back in 2017 for my
higher study. Once I stepped out of the plane in Australia, I felt huge difference in environment

of the two countries. Compared to China, Australia has high average temperature and there is
huge difference in the maximum and minimum temperature. In South Australia, temperature
reaches as high as 480 C, where as I am used to live in a lower temperature condition. Due to this
huge difference in temperature, I immediately fell sick and I have to admit in the hospital. Once
discharged from the hospital, I came back to the university and completed all the admission
procedure, however, during that time due to dehydration and standing under the scorching heat
of sun, I got sick again. Couldn’t go out of my room for several days and missed some initial
lectures of my academic session, which started to rise as the days passed by. Moreover, this
temperature difference not only hampered my academic career from the beginning, it brought my
self esteem to the ground. Due to my ill health condition and poor performance in the class, I
have failed to perform my extra curriculum activities; however, I would like to say that my
friends in the college campus were helpful and cooperative and without them, I wouldn’t be able
to survive this long if. In spite of their moral support, my poor health caused me bad academic
performance and now I feel like I have totally wasted my whole year.
In this condition, respected sir/madam, I would like to request you to grant
my resignation from the university study and let me go back to my origin. To conclude, I would
like to extend my love and thanks to my dear friends, without whom I wouldn’t have survived in
Australia for long and then I would like to express my gratitude to my respected teachers, who
taught me lot of life lessons and provided me a lot of knowledge for my future growth.
