INTRODUCTION
Human development refers to various activities and function that lead to improvement of
wellbeing and providing various opportunities to individual to grow and expand its knowledge
and learning skill and abilities. It includes capabilities and skilled of person that describes its
characteristic and ability to perform desired work. Thus, human development theories describe
the way children grow and changes due to various changes in environment. Social and
community services worker in supporting individual so that they can gain success in life also
plays various roles. This report analysis theories of human development that affects social and
community practices. It also evaluates various factors that influences development through
childhood and adolescence and the way social worker consider impact of life events in adulthood
and in providing support to adult services user.

P1 Theories of human development
Theories of human development is a complex process that study about each and every
children why it has grown and developed is such as manner and the various factors that had
impact on grow of child. Therefore, various theories of child development that can analysis and
evaluates why Kenny is grown so are as follows:
Background of child development Theories: It stated that development and behaviour of
individual is defined by environment in which he or she might have grown and developed. It
focuses on the way experience of individual shapes its nature and behaviour. Such as Kenny was
born and develop in such environment where his father always scold and beat her mother so at
the age of adolescence he also started to beat children and say abuse words (González-Alcaide,
and et.al., 2017). Before his birth his mother used to intake drug that has influences Kenny health
adversely. Therefore, all such environmental factors have adversely impact on development and
growth of Kenny.
Piaget Cognitive development Theories:
This theory explains about development of though of person and the way they impact
understanding level and interaction level of individual with other world. It can be illustrated
through Kenny case study development of mind and though process of individual that affects its
understanding and interaction with other people in society (Payne and Isaacs, 2017). Kenny has
make mind set that mixing with boys and using harsh language, irritating people, hitting children

is basic part of life and enjoyment. On the other-hand someone local resident takes steps to
change mindset and though process of individual by appoint child development council so that
he would never abuse people and hit children playing in the garden. It is further divided into four
stages such as:
Sensorimotor stages: It is time between child birth and age of 2 where infant acquired
knowledge through sensory perception so at the time of birth of Kenny his mother used to take
drug and in order to earn money work as a prostitute. All such influences on behaviours of
Kenny as he began too demanding and out of control at aged of 11 as said by his mother.
Pre operational Stage: It is the stage where child does not understand logic and copied
activities of its parents or people around him (Munsie, Hyun and Sugarman, 2017). As Kenny at
the age of two years was abused by his father, Greg that has made its mentality to talk with
people in harsh manner.
Concrete Operational Stage: At this stage child get to know about various things but cannot
understand hypothetical concepts so Kenny was able to know that his mother wants to live away.
Thus, Kenny accepted same behaviours as he also started to avoid playing with other children.
Formal Operational Stage: It is stage where individual can compare thing in logical basis so
previous Kenny used to hit and abuse people but at end he released that such things are not good
practices. Thus, it can state that various human development theories have helped in
development and growth of child, its behaviour and nature. In pre stage because his mother take
drug and their parents fight and don’t want child so all such factors has adversely impact on
growth and development of child.
P2 Importance of biological and environmental factors on human development
There are different biological and environmental factors that affect Human developments
such as nutrition, gender, interaction, climate, characteristic of family and household. Therefore,
various importances of biological and environmental factors on Human development are as
follows:
Characteristic of family members and households: It is important in growth and development
of Human as defined the nature and behaviour of individual in the future. Such as Kenny father
used to beat his mother and abuse her this make nature of Kenny to behave rudely with other
people and bit, irritate local people (Hojman and Miranda, 2018.). If Kenny father would not be
harsh and scold his mother than Kenny would grow into perfect child.

Nutrition: It is another factors that affect Human development that means child should be
provided proper nutrition so that it can fully grow and learn new things quickly. It is important
factors in development of human can be illustrated from case study of Kenny where due to
deficiency or improper nutrition he was born 8 weeks before. Therefore, if proper nutrition was
provided to Kenny than he not had to be admitted to hospital for three months and have better
health.
Improper nutrition and limited or no toy resulted Kenny to join company of elder boys
and ineffective family background such as fight between its parents has forced Kenny to grow as
child that beat and tease other child of local residents.
Human development is also essentials for society and community as developed and grow
human can work effectively in growth and success of society. They help in providing various
social services to people and improve living standard and helps in resolving various issue of
communities and society (McCauley and Wells, 2017). If child is properly developed then it can
easily survive and perform its function independently without helps of others. Human
development helps in reducing number of crimes in nation as it has developed and grow in
planned manner and knows about what thing to be done. Human can easily analysis and
evaluates various things on logical basis so that take various crucial decision of life that promote
its growth in professional and personal life. Therefore, it helps in developing such human that
have high skilled and knowledge to perform various function so that economic of country can
grow and expands. Developed person also makes effort to take part in various activities that lead
to welfare of society and communities such as in case of Kenny was not fully developed. Lack of
nutrition and consumption of more drugs by his mother has impact on growth and even survival
of child. He has to be kept in hospital for three months as pre-matured before 8 weeks that has
affected its mental and physical health in adverse manner. Kenny was not provided proper
knowledge the way to speak with other and not to harm other and irritate as his father also used
to abuse her mother (Pollin, 2016). Mother intake drugs work as a prostitute and like to remain
alone due to depression all such factors has impacted on growth of Kenny. He started harming
children; speak useless things that affect social and communities or people leaving near him. But
as soon he realized that it was all wrong then he refused to get into car thus helps in taking steps
towards welfare of society. Therefore, it can be concluded that various steps taken by council for
human development has result in social welfare and benefit to local residents.

P3 Range of factors that influences Pre natal factors on human development
Different factors such as pre-natal and life events of boy that impact on human
development in childhood and adolescence of Kenny. Such as when Christine was pregnant she
used to intake drug and work as prostitute that had impacted on bad health of child. It has
impacted adversely on health of Kenny as his mother used to intake more and more drugs in
order to reduce stress (Brand-Correa and Steinberger, 2017). Both Christine and Ray do not want
to have a child, so they pay attention to provide proper and sufficient nutrition for growth and
development of Kenny. That result in various health issue before his birth and admitted him for
three weeks thus pre natal factors also affects grow and development of child in the society. It
can be illustrated that various prenatal factors that affect human development are such that
parents of Kenny does not want to have a child. At the same time his mother work as prostitute
and intake drug that have affected on its health as no proper nutrition is provide for further
growth and development of child.
P4 Range of life events that affect development through childhood and adolescence
There are various life events that can affects development of childhood and adolescence
of Kenny such as miserable situation of house and bad habit of Grey Kenny has to suffer
situation of less availability of foods, clothing and toys for Kenny to play and enjoy life. Kenny
father Grey beat and scold her mother that has impacted adversely on behaviour and nature of
Kenny thus he speak harshly with other peoples (Forrester and et.al., 2017). Kenny learns lot of
new things with support of his teaching staff and able to develop new skills thus he was able to
performed well within school. But as soon as Kenny reach age of adolescence Christine doest
ask him anything about various thing thus lead to effect growth of child due to lack of attention
of her mother. Environmental factors such as mixing with older boys had lead to develop bad
habit such as smoking annoying neighbours by speaking abuse words and hitting children. But at
the end when child development council provided Kenny various guidelines, so he able to
realises benefit wrong and right path. Therefore, various live events that affect human
development in adolescence age and childhood of Kenny.
Attachment theory defines relationship of parents with child such as emotionally;
sensitive as per needs of child in order to understand its nature and behaviours (Ditadi, Sturgeon,

and Keller, 2017.). There are two stages of attachment between parents and children can be
explained through attachment theory Such as:
Stranger anxiety: Whenever any strange come in life of child such Kenny when get to about
Ray refuse to join various family activities.
Separation Anxiety: Kenny started separating from his mother when she joined job in local
market as he used to spend most of its time out of the house playing with older boys.
Social Referencing: At age of 10 Kenny started playing with boys that are older in age that dare
them to annoy neighbours and smoke that has impact on development of child.
Therefore it can be explained that various life events teach and enhance knowledge as
person learn and grow from his personal experience and background of family. Each and every
stage of life improves learning abilities and helps in growth and development of child as good or
bad person.
There are various factors that impact on childhood to adolescent such as Kenny parents does
not want to have a child.
Peer pressure and parent separation: Both Christine and Grey fight with each other and it
used to beat Christine so both have decided to leave away from each other. Therefore it had
impacted on growth and development of Kenny as there was no one to care of child. Peer
pressure and parental separation has adversely impact on growth and development of Kenny.
Lack of toys, furniture and toys also impact adversely on growth of Kenny.
School: He stated school at age of 4 but was not able to settle down and learn new things but
with help of teacher he was able to enhance knowledge and skill. He has developed new
footballer skill thus able to grow and expand its knowledge.

P5 Impact of different life events on development through Adulthood
Social worker are the people that perform various function in order to provide social
benefits to people by supporting vulnerable people from harm so that they can live independently
and smoothly. Social worker in order to promote development of child had to collect various
information regarding environment that has lead to such growth and development of child. Such
as social worker by taking into account Kenny background and its friend circle is able to identify
that why she annoys people and abuse them (Ibrahim, 2017). Thus, they plan for strategies to set
up football Team and skateboard area in the park so that Kenny can enjoy its childhood and stop

annoying people. Social Worker helps in growing and development of adolescence of Kenny by
providing it various resources so that it can play and learn new things and avoid useless
activities. It can be explained that Kenny refused to get into car which was stolen by one of boys
it stated that council plan to develop park has work successfully. Therefore, such practice of
social worker has impact on development of Kenny as now he has learnt that what is right and
what is wrong. At same time now he will not teach local residents and children playing in garden
because now he became adult and responsible citizen. Various steps taken by social worker for
development of child help in effective growth of child in adulthood age.
Marriage: Social worker by identifying that when Kenny was born her mother and father used
to fight with each other and his father beat his mother. All such information gather helps social
worker to formulate effective strategies for development of child.
Loss of loved one: Kenny has insufficient toys, furniture and food and his parents live apart
from each other’s thus lost of loved one has impacted on its growth and result in bad habit of
individual.
School: Kenny was not comfortable in school and not able to learn but with teacher support able
to enhance its knowledge.
P6 Various factors associated with ageing process
There are various changes such as physical, psychological and social changes as age of
person change that it evaluates and analysis from case study of Kenny. When Kinney was born
he was weak due to less availability of nutrition and high consumption of drug by her mother.
But as he grows he became stronger and his preferences regarding meeting people also have
changed. In initial stages he was not capable to learn more and more things but as he grew up his
knowledge has increased and Kenny became popular among children (Faggian, Modrego and
McCann, 2019). After her mother job and Kenny avoid spending time at his home and play with
older boys that have bad habits and preference. Thus, Kenny social preferences have changed,
and he likes to play and have fun while annoying people and hitting small children.
As the people grow there are various changes made in social and physical manner so it
can be explained through disengagement theory which explained that older people have to leave
their roles and responsibilities so that youngster can come can perform activities in more
appropriate manner. Thus, it stated that there are various changed as per ageing so that new can
come and work effective for growth and development of economic. His height and weight was

increased and new language and skilled due to stable environment at his grandmother house.
Therefore, it helps in bringing new changes in the life of Kenny as per increase in its age such as
physically, physiological and social. It can be that stated there are various factors that promote
growth and development of Kenny to bit children and irritate local resident but social worker
explains it not to play and enjoy life as a child rather than teasing other people.
Changes happen when one is ageing are as follows:
Physical changes: When Kenny was born it has poor health due to intake of drug by his mother
but as he grew he became stronger and bold to irritate people and beat child.
Psychological changes: There are various changes that are made in psychological behaviour as
he used to beat small children and irate local residents. All such impact adversely on growth and
development of Kenny.
Social changes: As Kenny grew he became to live isolated from his family members and join
company of older boys result on bad impact on Kenny characteristic and growth of child.

P7 Role of social and community services in uplifting individual
Social workers and community service’s provider play various roles in uplifting and
developing nature and characteristic of individual. It helps in economic development by
enhancing knowledge and skills of people to perform various functions at the same time
responsible for managing crime in society (Nowakowski and et.al. 2016.). Therefore, various
roles and responsibilities of social worker are to collect data related to various issues that are
faced by society. It analysis and evaluates various factors that had lead to development and
growth of children is such manner so that solution can be made as per problem. As stated in
Kenny case study the social worker by identifying factors such as background of child was not
appropriate as his parents were not interested to have a child. His mother intake lot of drugs and
was abused and scold by her father, so she left Gery and move to his mother house in order to
take better care of child. But less food, toy to plays has reduces impact on learning power of
individual, and he does not like to be more socialized. But teacher and her grandmother plays an
important role in enhancing knowledge and guiding him right path and develop skills related to
football (Potrafke, 2016). Kenny's mother has loose interest in asking question to Kenny as she
was busy in her job he started playing with older boy that give dare to hit and harm children of

local students. But as soon as social communities get to know about such issue that his family
background was not good, and he joined bad company of boy they plan a strategy to develop
child by setting a football team and stakeholder (Wohlwill, 2016). Thus, such role helps in
providing benefits to local residents as Kenny no longer shout, irritate people and hardly work to
achieve success. It can also be concluded that social worker provide various services for
development of individual such build park, arrange football team and skateboard area so that he
can play and enjoy his life. Social worker by identifying cause of development and growth of
child is able to effective plan strategies so that it can come to right path and aware about what are
right things and what are wrong so it helps in actual growth and development of people.
Role of social workers:
Role of social worker is to enhance living of individual by providing support and help to
families and individual so social worker by providing support to Kenny is able to support growth
and development of child.
They provide guidance and support to individual so that positive change can be made in
behaviour of individual such as Kenny is provide with social support so to change its behaviour
and become a good child.
It analysis and evaluates various factors that impact on growth and development of child in order
to formulate appropriate strategies such as Kenny previous events helps in identify factors that
impact on growth of child.
P8 Range of service in our own local that support individual experience
There are various services that are provide by social worker for better health and safety of
people such as guidance and support to people that have no homes and family. Provide free of
cost education so that they can learn and enhance their knowledge to work effectively for growth
and development of economic. Therefore all such services help in enhancing life of individual
and making their life events different from others. Social workers are providing development and
growth of society by supporting people that have limited finance and no family support such as
old age people.
Nuffied trust : It is social organisation that provide various services to improve health and safety
of individual and to enhance living standard of people.
Disabilities Trust: Such organisation provide residential support to communities or people that
have physical or learning disabilities.

Central council for education and training in social work: It is another social organisation
that provides education and various certified course or training and development for rendering
social service within communities.
CONCLUSION
From the above analysis it can be concluded human development plays an important role
by enhancing knowledge and skill of person to perform specific task. It not only development of
human mental but also physically he should be strong in order to grow and succeed in life. It can
also be explained that social workers support people that have mental and emotional issue by
providing various services in order to uplift their living standard. At last, it can be concluded that
child development is affected by various factors such as environment and background of child.
