It is a process of accessing the individual skills and qualities and by considering objective and aim in life in order to maximize the potential. Personal development helps the person in identifying the skills and need to set the target to achieve employment skills, raising confidence and leading higher quality of life. It helps in improving self awareness, self knowledge and potential of the person. Personal development is important in individual life because it helps in self- actualization process (Vetere and Stratton, 2016). Self- actualization is the process of becoming everything which they want to become. It is not limited to self help but also it includes formal and informal activities for developing various roles. It also develops the individual skills and their personality. Definition of the personal development is the development of the person in an organized manner of behavior which makes him distinctive from other people. There are various examples of personal development goals which are confidence is the most important personal development skills which is to be highlighted by everyone in the plan. Then next is listening actively- person needs to listen to other person very actively to make proper conversation. They are said to be medium term goals because they are not so short and not so long goals which needs to be achieved. Its is founded that the best type of goals are considered as mid term goals. Medium term goals is much tricky as compared to the short term goals. Person keep the sum of money to keep it safe which can be needed by him tomorrow. These smaller steps are considered as short term goals. Long term goals are important for the individual career. future. Also, at the context of institution, long term goals can helps the organisation in achieving the companies profitability and revenue. There are certain benefits of long term goals which are that they give internal compass. When a person makes certain goals based on the principles then he needs to use internal compass to make decisions. Long term goals helps the individual in evaluating the values. This helps them in regular understanding of the decisions they made and they try to make efforts to fulfils them. Goals helps in setting specific goals and giving more purpose in drive. When a person sets his goals then he is not only waking up at doing good job but he may good at the better presenter and attaining proper direction (Johnson, Robertson and Cooper, 2018). It can be in context of the career, relationship and self- improvement. The another name of personal development plan (PDP) is the individual development plan (IDP). ThisPDPinvolvesvariousthingslikeperson'sstrengthandcompetencies, aspirations, education and training needs and time duration to complete that goal.
