The title of the abstract is “Effectiveness of the Middle East respiratory syndrome-coronavirus
protocol in enhancing the function of an Emergency Department in Qatar.” The authors of the
article are Shinu Varughese, Peter A. Cameron, Yasser El Deeb, Salem Abo Saleh, Abdul L. Al-
Khal and Jennan G. Read. The article has got affiliations from European Journal of Emergency
Medicine in October 2015. The corresponding author of the article is Shinu Varughese.

Background
The research aims to examine the efficiency of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus
(MERS-CoV ) surveillance protocol in the Emergency Department and Radiography Department
at Hamad General Hospital, Qatar(1). It presents the fact that during emergencies, the department
focuses on the minimization of patients. It recognizes positive MERS-CoV cases and maximized
efficiency in the functioning of the radiography department. It also focused on the containment
of cross infectivity (2).
