The twentieth century has witnessed different types of
technological agricultural changes.
It leaves remarks on rural landscape and population.
Due to invention of machinery labour at the farm has gone out of
the field and use of chemical fertilisers has increased without
taking into consideration the concern for environment
The term “organic’ is rooted in Greek. It denotes the life or way of
living. This kind of products were firstly introduced in 1940 and
were regarded as the food which is developed, grown and stored
without any use of synthetically produced chemicals or fertilizers,
herbicides, fungicide etc.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
To examine the consumer behaviour towards the organic food
To identify the factors which leads to increasing demand for
organic food
To recommend the way through which demand for organic food
items can be increased

Factors Contributed in Selecting
Research Project
Consumers have become highly conscious about their health.
They keep a strong watch on hygienic and unhygienic kind of
things.
Despite of increasing awareness about the organic food, still the
consumption of this kind of food is low
Apart from that subject of organic food is related with
environmental impact hence it discloses some of the corporate
social responsibilities of the manufacturers.
