Impact of Tim Cook and Management Style
Apple being the most reputed company in the global market is guided by potential
manager of the company. The current CEO of the company Tim Cook has been the most
desirable and potent member of the company. Tim was Apple’s Chief Operating Officer and he
was responsible for company’s operations and worldwide sales. When Tim Cook became the
CEO of Apple in the year 2011 he was able to reduce the inventory stock of the company to $78
million worth of unsold Macs which is down from $400 million. He also made some effective
changes such as cutting down some of the suppliers of Apple. Now at present Apple works only
with the suppliers who are closer to the Apple’s factories and the company is able to outsource
easily. Cook has also invested in effective enterprise resource planning system. This provides the
whole team of Apple with appropriate data and information about the supply chain.
The management style posed by Tim Cook is transformational style. Yes the management style
is found to be effective for the organization since the transformational style aims at provoking
the employees to be innovative and intuitive. The typical story told about Tim Cook is when Tim
cook was interviewed for the job as Vice President he fascinated all the members through his
operational ideas. Those ideas were actually implemented when he was hired.

Another manager who has been an important member of the organization who has
contributed towards the organization is Katherine Adams. Katherine Adams is the Senior Vice
President and General Counsel, she has been a seasoned leader with her outstanding judgment.

corporate governance, litigations, global security and many more responsibilities.

3% black. At leadership level 71% men are leaders, 66% are white, 1% is multi-racial, 7% is
Hispanic and 3% is black. From the above representation it can be said that Apple highly believe
in fostering diversity thus, has become a multigenerational and multi-cultured company.
